WELCOME TO PAGE 25!!! WOOT! 39.gif

And thankyou ALL SO MUCH for all those wonderful comments! seriously, THANKS!

And to everyone, I'm sorry for going a whole page without an update, but I just went through a Break Up in Real Life, and so simcity was the last thing on my mind.  But, today I got some time to play, so enjoy.

    And welcome to update 29!

Well, there is a new town on the block!

Up Green River is a small area of cliffs, which has just become home to a series of farms and houses, its name is Canilla.

    Base-City-Opener.jpg

Canilla doesn't have much to do with the rest of Green Depra, few people work there but prefer to stick within Canilla itself.  The main area of activity is Canilla's beautiful Main Street.  It has many hsops and resteraunts, and it known Depra Wide for its Great Deli's.

    Lets take a look...

There are so many country shops, this place is pretty clear of the usual big companies, but more family owned simple stores.

Sorry for the mass of Main Street Photos, but I was quite pleased with how it turned out, I think it reminds me of an Aussie Country Main Street.  And now a rarity for Green Depra, an overview! 48.gif (PS. Deadwoods, you rock!!)

    Canilla-Roe-Dec20.jpg

But there is more to Canilla than its Main Street, it also has many beautiful houses, many of which line the Canilla Cliffs and have great views!

This Cliff is known as Authurs Seat, and this is the Authurs Seat Observation Deck!  Since it has opened only seven tourists have fallen off. 21.gif

But behind all the glamour of the cliffs and their houses are the backbone of Cinalla.  The farms!

Well, thats the update for today!  I hope you enjoyed it, I will try and get another update out soon, but things arn't great in RL at the moment, so I apologise if that doesn't happen.

That's what I was saying!  Just get some pics and show us!  And YAY a new town!  You say you maybe overdid the Main St. pics but I can't get enough!  It's perfect, just like any small mountain or fishing village!!! 44.gif44.gif  Lucky you, you get enough business variation... I get too many Redfish Bookstores for it to look good... 2.gif

Hope you keep your eyes open for my CJ, C

    Hey Choco, Great update!
I like Canilla, that small main street is really beautiful, with the slightly sloped street, it's just perfect.
The addition of those trail between the commerces is a great idea.
The res zone in the hills is also well done, good use of the peg scenic lot!

    Good work mate!
    Take care 44.gif

Okay, now this is a .. great .. update!!! 31.gif

I like all those small commercials along the roads with the PEG trails in between. (I just miss those wonderfull NIMBY's from Simgoober 29.gif11.gif... )

That street network for those residentials looks like it would be only one street with some deadends. It really fits that terrain. And I guess only 7 tourists falling down from Auhturs saeat is not too much 34.gif(as long as the time since erection is bigger than 7 days ... 17.gif)

    6.gif

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaand ...

    the farms! 44.gif

Finally! Nice sloped farm outside Urland! You did it! Congratulation!!! 16.gif39.gif44.gif

Good to see you back, and again (this should be needless to say) well done again. It reminds me of some small towns just north of me in central California. The main street has plenty of variety and looks very upscale. With that river/canyon in the back it seems like a perfect place for the development to occur. My only question that I have is: Was this town settled a while ago (perhaps by explorers who brought good tidings) or was it created by those getting further away from the big city but not willing to leave the Green behind? Either way, great update and always waiting to see more.

Also, I just noticed this: great adaptation of the story to the first post. It sets up the story in a fuller, grander style, very well done.

C-Max: You're staying on top of the latest custom content, I see! PEG's MTP Scenic Views must work great in the cliff towns.

Good update. No, great. (NO! That won't do! It's EXCELLENT!) One question? Do you have to coax the farms into growing? Agricultural zoning should be on flat land.

But, you stay on top of custom content, planning, and even RL! Go C-Max! 35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif 10 bunnies for C-Max!

I actually thought it was just coincidental that it looked like the flag of norfolk island flag, I was just looking at the chart of flags of Australia from the Gold Coast Bulletin and saw it there and made the connection. And yes, I did write on the magazine page about the colour difference and the absence of the Norfolk Island Pine.

Your new update is excellent as well, it reminds me of some of my really early work, except much nicer and you have made the whole low wealth area very nice. And the use of the new lots from PEG and I think cycledoggs new trees. Fantastic work!

Looks great, choco. I would've posted last night, but I was too tired, and ST went down for me... 3.gif

But hey, this is one cool city. Though, I have one small gripe, and that's with the Pedriana Plant. Maybe you could use the Pedriana Killer Mod to get rid of it?

Green Depra looks so real. Very nice community. The outlook looks nice (thanks to PEG). The street mod actually matches your town. Great job! 29.gif

    Very nice update.

That small town has a very nice high street indeed.
The Canilla area is indeed pretty, maybe time for a hotel or such?

I am sorry to hear about the break-up15.gif. Though break Choco. Keep on hanging in there, things like this happen once in a while in RL. It's shitty though. Hang in strong!

    Thanks Dude. 44.gif

On my to-do list is a set of shopfronts to go with those little brick shops. There will be an Aussie set with some banks (CBA, NAB etc.), Newsagent (with Tattersalls signage), Aussie Post, etc. It won't be soon, but I'll get around to it eventually.

Canilla is definitely a beautiful, scenic place worth living in. The Main Street commercial district blends in well with the surrounding farms and neighborhoods in the mountains. Keep up the great job, and I hope RL works out well for you.29.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 29.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/29.gif width=15 border=0>

Wow, I love this town. A typical Australian country town setup (except for the red brick street paving and the lush greenery) and Deadwoodses shops make the main street really have that great aussie feel which only us aussies can experience!9.gif This town sorta reminds me of places such as Castlemaine, Nagambie, Heathcote and Kilmore. Keep teaming with the theme and keep up the great (aussie style) work!18.gif
