Hey choco, where did Vic Hawk come from?! Anyway, I hope he gets caught. About the update: it's the three big G's: great, green, and gorgeous! I like your various athletics complexes, and the underpasses look great, too. I can't wait for more!

Again, impressive mosaics you have there choco.

As for the first one, I love how those two roundabouts are incorporated with entrances to swimming pool. I also like the tunnel entrance near that enormous stadium. BTW, what is that stadium? It's huge and that's exactly what I would need.

As for the second one... Hm, In my opinion the Aquatic Center (the Bejing swimming pool BAT I mean) should be fenced somehow. I think it would look much better with fences.

I like that station in the 3rd mosaic, especially the fact that one railway actually enters the station and two others go past it... I don't know why but I like it 1.gif

Last mosaic is very nice as well! Good job again Choco!

Brilliant update Choco. The stadium looks excellent, as well as the pristine surroundings. Unfortunatly Kinata has not yet been schedueled to play in your beautiful stadium... But we may see you in the finals!

Well, my earlier comment about your incredible BAT selection still stands, but your open spaces/pedestrian malls are superb. Just curious what inspires your designs (especially for the area around the stadium). It'll be interesting too to see where the Vic Hawk chase leads. Excellent as always.

Spectacular update! You may have noticed that your cj is not in my sig anymore, that is only because I want to come up with a new and fresh way to organize links in my sig, expect it back.

[edit] I figured something out 9.gif

Oo, looks good!

I tried that terrain mod myself.  But my computer is too old and the mod is really huge...  Pity.  Looks great in your cities.

Congrats on the new iMac!  You're gonna love it!  Though I'd keep SC4 on your Windows machine if I were you.  It's the one Mac dark spot...

July 4th will bring fireworks, more CJ carnage, and a new newspaper to the whole CJ community, CityBeat. This will be a new breed of paper. It will take advantage of my Wikipedia user space to bring long, in-depth stories on City Journals. Do you want to subscribe? There will be a link, but then it will take you to the front page of CityBeat.

Hi Choco,

thanks for the link. An thank you for your persistance in uploading this update!

It is pitty now we are both out of the world cup (Australia and Holland that is). Australia showed a lot more sportsmanship than Holland though. It is a pity the are out.

Great update. Nice intergration of those huge concrete blocks in the green countryside.

I just wonder how those cars get behind the trainstation as there is no road access anywhere near 42.gif

That's the common problem that happens when we use the transit enabled pedmall tiles. It looks like the cars used those walking tiles to get there. 2.gif

Sorry for hogging your CJ, Max: I have a little announcement. 1.gif

Hello all!  If there is anyone interested in the Vic Hawk story, here are the appropriate links to visit the various episodes:

1 - The Crime (Calderwood)

2 - Newspaper 6/25/2006 (Calderwood)

3 - Newspaper 6/26/2006 (Green Depra)

4 - The Escape (Calderwood)

Now... keep an eye on my CJ, Cézarest, 'cause will soon hear from our environmental activist there.  This will be the storyline's table of contents, so check back here for links to new episodes.  More international tensions and complications ahead!

It's been a while since I visited this CJ and Simtropolis. At the moment I only looked at your last two updates and they both looked wonderfull.

I just have one question. Where did you get the pavement you used around the stadium? Cause it looks very nice.

Hey Max, great one again!

There's a trick you do that always amaze me....

We look at the updates, and even if we have seen the BATS and lots in other setups, in yours it's like they were created specifically for Green Depra! They just belong!

Backup often mate, we don't want a disaster to strike Depra!

Take care!

    Evening!

Now, before we get in on today's update I just want to say sorry to everyone for my lack of updates recently...

But I am proud to say that I am putting Green Depra first from now on, even before the SCJU.  I have prepared ahead so there will be two updates within the next seven days...

    Now its...

    Your Image

    Update 43

    Out of the Zoo!

Today we are again looking at Green Depra's newest city, Barton Lakes....

    city-intro1.jpg

With Green Depra entering a new era of prosperity the recreation of its people is starting to become more and more important, and so with that, the Lords Council just finished building Barton Zoo!

    But more on that later....

Now lets take a look at the actual lakes!

These lakes, sometimes nicknamed as The Mossy Lakes are known for being quite green themselves, lots of seaweed and waterplants are in this lake and the lake is rich with life.  A few people have used boats in the lakes, but they haven't been too popular as its more of a wetland than a good environment for swimming or water sports..

The fishing is okay though, and a few fishers have been forced to tie their boats directly to the coast as there aren't any proper launching facilities... you wouldn't think it would be worth it but aparently you can catch a flathead the size of a small child!

    TheLakes1_022.jpg

    TheLakes1_033.jpg

CLICK HERE to view the HUGE version of this mosaic, at 1400 X 2975 its a massive look at Barton Lakes!

^ Enjoy it, but warning, its over 1.5 MB

Barton Zoo is a large, green zoo dedicated to all variety of animals...  It was built just recently and opened to a large crowd of screaming children and anxious parent just waiting to see the zoo's famous Polar Bear named Fuzzy.

Daily trains coming in from Blackberry Inlet and Green River take hundreds of tourists and city-slickers out to the country and its zoo!  This has been said to do wonders for the town's local shops and tourism industry...

    BartonZoo2_033.jpg

    BartonZoo2_044.jpg

    BartonZoo2_055.jpg

Well, thats it!  Short I know, but I promise there will be much more udpates like this on the way!  This is the start of a new era for Green Depra, one which has my complete dedication! 16.gif  I hope you can all be with me for it and I hope I haven't lost people's interest with my lack of updates...

    Tell your friends! 18.gif

Next update... the cemetary and church of Barton Lakes!

    But right now...

GMT Thanks, glad you liked it.

    Leech10 Thanks mate.

Tracker (2) Nah, I didn’t forget it, I am not sure whether to respond yet as I’m not sure how much help GD can be. Hmm, sounds interesting, I might subscribe, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the first edition first. Goodluck! Why don’t you start a CJ Tracker?

freedo50 Thanks for the compliments mate!

    Bokrif Thankyou, I appreciate it.

Cityhawk Ah, good question. Vic Hawk was born in Green Depra but moved to Calderwood for a couple of years before this incident. Haha! The three G’s! Thats great, thanks mate!

Mightygoose Yeah, those are cool, underpasses, thanks for the comment.

    TinySim Why thankyou!

Threestooges Yes, that story will be interesting! Inspiration... hmm… well I really just wanted to create a really green and beautiful sports area with large open areas so there is no crowds of pedestrians, and I just loved that stone texture so I couldn’t help but use it. Thanks mate.

Simfan34 Thankyou for your support! Thanks mate.

Eastwinn Wow, awesome pop-up! That’s really funky! Cheers mate.

Zelgadis Ah yes, the downside of a Mac! All well, the huge screen and beautiful interface makes up for it! Thanks for the comment mate, it’s a shame you can’t use the terrain mod, but I think your cities are still beautiful!

Nik-nik Haha, no problem! Yeah, its horrible! But then, that’s the furthest we’ve ever got so I should be happy! Haha, I knew you would pick up on that! Well you see, they fly there! Cheers mate.

Rayden I think he was talking about the trails that don’t lead anywhere from the white train station, but you have a good point!

ElmarO Hey mate! Great to see you! Unfortunately I’m not really sure where the texture came from, but I made them myself in lot editor. Thanks.

Bokrif Congratulations on 200 posts! Yeah, there was a few problems with the image hoster, but its fixed now. Glad you liked it.

Collgab Hehe, thanks for stopping by! Hopefully I will be able to update more often now.

Owenluby Hey!  Thanks for the comment!  Oh yeah, Melbourne is just beautiful!  Most livable in the world aparently!  While it doesn't have the history of some others, I think it has its own unique charm which can't be found anywhere else.

Darmok Hey thanks!  hehe, thats the beauty of the Lot Editor!  I can make them fit in their surroundings, its great!  And yes, you just reminded me, I haven't in a while, I will do that now!  Thanks mate, you posted just before I did!

Thanks for all the comments guys!
