Well anything that has changed will have to be drawn over. (Or just clicked near in some cases) I don't think anything will need to be actually buldozed.

@qurlix: Is there any way for there be a fully signalled road/RHW junction in the future? Here in the Deep South the RHW looks MUCH more like the divided highways of the region than avenues do. In many locations where a busier 2-lane highway intersects a 4-lane divided highway there is a stoplight. Not only that, it would give us further options in the flexibility and expandibility of the RHW system. That is, go from RHW-2 to RHW-4 with cross traffic to RHW-4 with limited access to RHW-10.

Just a thought for future releases. If it "magically" appeared in the next release I'd be absolutely amazed.

    Keep up the great work!

@J0hnD0e: He did say Negative 3 days, as in it sounds like its already done and there are just some pathing or other issues to take care of.

Hey, the more flexibility the better. Intersections or interchanges... why not both? Looking forward to release date along with the next NAM.

This will probially be answered with the next release... but qurlix, the intersections/overpasses with roads you have created, have you made ones for one way roads? Or, generally speaking, habe you made any for other networks or is that still long-term?

This used to be my favorite thread. Now we're arguing over railroad crossings and the new NAM.

When Tarkus gets back, the RHW will be revised, the thread will snap back into place, and we'll all be happier people.

~ COMING SOON! Exciting new projects! ~

I've been following this thread for awhile and love what I've seen. I haven't been able to test the current version that is out (at the time of this post), but I know I will test out the next version that comes out right after the new NAM. 4.gif

LivingInThePast:  If you're talking about the two-way RHW (one lane in each direction), I would assume that it's not compatible, since (right now) any version of the RHW publicly released is not compatible with the new NAM.

Well...I believe the file that was released only contained textures so it should work fine. None of the IIDs have changed for the basic pieces AFAIK.

Also I removed all my plugins except NAM and RHW, I noticed that there are 2 RWH Icons? Both doing the exact same thing adn my ANT Icon is gone?

    Anyone else experience this?

    hi

Polakko: This is a known bug and it cannot be fixed, it is hardcoded.

Fastburst: That is a known bug too. RHW 12 isnt compatible with the new NAM which should be downloadeble soon.

RHW 17, which should appear soon to, is compatible and that bug has been solved

both of these questions have been answered in previous pages.

    Regards

On a lighter note since I love this new RHW so much I have added 2 NORTH AMERICAN MIRRORS for this.

Thanks so much for the info on this thread.   And thank you for all the talented people associated with the RHW project.    Ya'll are the best.   I am happy to hear that a new RHW will be available soon.   I love the RHW.     BigSlark on the last page was talking about how in the deep south the RHWs look a certain way.

@qurlix: Is there any way for there be a fully signalled road/RHW junction in the future? Here in the Deep South the RHW looks MUCH more like the divided highways of the region than avenues do. I am very familiar with this.    I grew up in TN.    Alot of the "limited access divided highways" are the primary form of travel there.   I think that is why I love the RHW so much.   It reminds me of back home.     Can't wait till the new RHW come out.   Thanks again.

Now that I have the new NAM, its amazing how much I miss the RHW. Nothing works works anymore because I had to remove the RHW files . This mod has really changed the face of the game and I eagerly look froward to the new release so the RHW and the NAM can live in harmony with eachother.

All the best wishes with the next NAM-compatible RHW release! I am hoping that there are no problems with it and that it will be out soon. I cant play the game anymore without the RHW!!!

    Hi everyone-

I'm back.  And as promised, I have an update with some new stuff to show you.  First of all, I figured out what went wrong with my RUL 0x10000000 file--it was actually nothing more than a text spacing error.  I had been editing a copy of the file in Notepad instead of the Reader, and I forgot to take "Word Wrap" off, so it got reformatted and royally screwed up everything when I pasted it back in.

As a result, I do have functioning Avenue-over-RHW, OWR-over-RHW pieces done (I may have some pics up later for those).  Rail-over-RHW is still in the works, and I also plan on producing an optional add-on for those who are using the High Speed Rail add-on in place of the Monorail.  There will also be some reversals (RHW-over-Road, etc.) done in the near future as well.  I also managed to get the Ground to 15m transitions working:

    groundeltrans2cb4.png

And does anyone remember the RHW dual-decker piece awhile back?  Well, I managed to make it functional, with transition pieces as well:

    dualdecker1dz4.png

dualdecker2bj6.pngThe models on everything still needs a little work.  And as a test, I also managed to get this pathed (yes, that's a quadruple-decker RHW)

    quaddeckerqk9.png

I also managed to get this partially pathed--there's still a few issues with it, the main one being that right now, since it is built through converting Road-Street Intersections, the terrain automatically gets flattened when you build it, which means it can't go up hills without them getting "altered".

    tla71ao5.png

And also messed around a little with the possibility of a 6-tile RHW-18 (the slope issue also applies):

    rhw18testvd6.png

(all of you 56k types are probably wanting to strangle me right now . . . sorry43.gif)

I'm rather glad to see a new NAM come out.  I never would have guessed . . . I didn't know about it until about an hour ago, so I haven't really messed around with it yet, and I'm a little bummed out to here it doesn't work with the RHW myself, but it sounds like qurlix has it under control.  I probably will be taking a look at it in the Reader sometime later this week to see what exactly is in it and if there's anything I need to add to my RHW stuff.  It may also help me to solve a problem that I ran into--the RUL file would start cutting things out once I hit 484,034 characters (including spaces) in the file (I checked it in Microsoft Word), so in order to test some of the pieces I was working on, I had to remove some of my older ones.

I've also done some work on interchanges--I started some work on getting a diamond interchange in--things are still way too rough to show here, though, but I finally figured out diagonals, and can add the first phases of the RHWMIS (Rural Highway Modular Interchange System) added in rather quickly once I figure out how to get around that RUL character limit.  (The word "modular" is an understatement , if you know what I mean . . .2.gif)

As far as specific comments goes:

@qurlix:  Glad to hear you have a handle on making the RHW compatible with NAM_20.

@755:  Like the rail crossing gate!

    @Houston_Fan:  Nice toll gantry!

@pilotdaryl and ryanb_sc4:  Glad to hear about the new RHW signage project and looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

@LivingInThePast, bwatterud, rickmastfan67 and haljackey:  Thanks for the words of encouragement--glad to hear you like the project so much.  Rest assured, qurlix knows what he's doing.

@fastburst:  Thanks for putting up the new North American mirrors!

@webmaster76:  I believe that the current textures that come with the RHW are actually US Highway designs.

@Gaston:  Glad to hear the RHW brings back some good memories.  Most of the highways where I'm from (Oregon) look that way too.  There's still some At-Grade Intersections on some of them.

    -Tarkus

Edit as of 7:22pm PST:  The 0x10000000 in the new NAM has over 490,000 characters . . . may need to do a little more investigating.

    Hey Hey....

Tarkus is back from holidays!! Now we can get back around to getting something done once qurlix has the RHW compatible with NAM 20.

Tarkus, I had a couple of problems that qurlix explained to me why they didnt work. But, I havent gotten around to doing much else. Been learning how to make prop families, and eyeing Type 21 Exemplars, but just not there yet. Ive been having too much fun playing with making my own lots out of everyone's models on STEX. Ive made about 50 lots in the last 2 weeks!!
