Not to mention, the interchange has to be on perfectly flat land. I often use bridges (or rather the bridge tool, with the nodes on the ground) on rougher land because they keep the road from roller coaster-ing. But since bridges can't make trade connections, I have to switch back to regular highway at the interchange prior to the boarder, which isn't always convenient. Either way, it's a silly bug.

I have CXL installed on my laptop. I usually use it on an external monitor that is shared (with a KVM) with my desktop. But occasionally I want to play on the smaller laptop monitor (for example, when I want to watch TV on my desktop, which has tuner card and DVR abilities, or when I want to go somewhere with the game besides my desk). The problem is, the desktop monitor is 1440x900, and the laptop monitor is 1280x800. In SC4, I could put an option in the shortcut to run a specific resolution. So I have two SC4 shortcuts on my desktop: one has the target line options -r1440x900x32 -CustomResolution:enabled -introff And the other has -r1280x800x32 -CustomResolution:enabled -introff So that, if I want to run SC4 on my larger monitor, I open the first, and the smaller I use the second. Long story short, does anyone know if this can be done with CitiesXL?

So I pick up the paper this morning, and see this: http://timesunion.com/AspStories/sto...storyID=728326 TROY — It could have been Ovama or Ofama. Or even Olama. But with one "s" the Rensselaer County Board of Elections turned a single wrong letter into a national embarrassment Friday. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on some 300 absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County hilltowns. Is it a Freudian slip, intentional gaffe or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one politician pointed out that the letters "s" and "b" are not exactly keyboard neighbors. "Of all the letters to hit by mistake," County Democratic Chairman Tom Wade said. "Unfortunately it is a mistake which negatively impacts our Democratic candidate for president." The typo was first reported Friday on timesunion.com, and quickly grabbed national attention. "It was crazy, everybody across the country called," said Edward McDonough, the county's Democratic elections commissioner. He said calls came in from The New York Times, the New York Post, Daily News, Wall Street Journal and Court TV. McDonough said he was one of the people who received a misspelled absentee ballot at home, and he didn't even notice it. Elections officials on both sides of the aisle insist a simple typographical error caused the national embarrassment. "It was a mistake innocently done," McDonough said. "We catch almost everything." Republican officials were apologetic. "We have three different staff members who proof these things and somehow the typo got by us," said Republican Commissioner Larry Bugbee. "We really apologize." On Row 1A, Barack Obama's name is spelled Barack Osama — a name bearing an unfortunate resemblance to terror mastermind Osama bin Laden - but further down on the Working Families line it is spelled correctly. The Obama camp took the controversy in stride. "We're glad officials are working to correct this error and we assume it won't happen again," Obama spokesman Blake Zeff said. McDonough said the absentee ballots with the error went out to voters in Brunswick, Nassau, Sand Lake, Schaghticoke and Schodack. Three voters called to report the error. By day's end, officials decided to issue new ballots to all 300 voters. They realized some people might cross out the misspelling and write in the correct spelling. "Election law is quite clear that any corrections done on a ballot will nullify the vote, so to be safe, we re-issued them," McDonough said. One Sand Lake resident who caught the misspelling, and who asked to be anonymous, was skeptical. "It's a little suspicious and at least grossly incompetent," the voter said. District Attorney Richard McNally said the incident is unlikely to produce a criminal investigation. "Both sides are saying this is an honest mistake, so unless we find out otherwise, I don't see it going that way," McNally said. Rensselaer County is the only county in the state that prints ballots in-house. "It saves the taxpayers a lot of money," McDonough said. Wade said it might be time to rethink that practice.quote> Leave it to Rensselaer County to ***** up so royally. A little context: Rensselaer County is right across the river from Albany, NY, the state capitol. It tends to swing to the right most of the time. Also, I'm experienced in its politics because I can see it from my house. If it were something like putting John MacCain, or Barak Obama, or Jo Biden, or Sara Palin, it would be fine. But no, they had to go with the Fox News misspelling. Three proofreaders? How did three proofreaders miss this? This is just plain embarrassing for the whole area. And then to add on top of that the letter to the editor also published today: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories...storyID=728536 Regarding the commentary by Rod Drehner published on Sept. 26, Mr. Dehner compares the emotional appeal of both Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Sarah Palin. He goes to great lengths to "neither extol nor diminish either candidate." However, the highlighted quote that appeared with the article misspells Gov. Palin's name as "Pain." Enough subliminal editorializing! quote>Y KENT ENY1 IN DIS PLAYS SPEL!!1!! So what do you think? Freudian slip, intentional, or accidental?

I have a question. In this picture: http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http://www.jeuxvideo.com/screenshots/images/00020/00020028_015.htm&usg=ALkJrhg2DmV98nhvhXfm4RL7935DBPMwCA The car at the front of the line looks like it has a Cadillac symbol on the front, and the one behind it looks like it has the grill of a Chevy truck. Is there going to be product placement in this game, or will it be like GTA4, where things are similar but different? I'm not opposed to product placement, per se, as long as it's not intrusive. For example, I have no problem with all the game's vehicles being made by GM, as long as that's all it does. No ads in the sidebar, no popups, etc. I wouldn't even mind, in this game, billboards. As long as you can choose where to place them, and perhaps choose from among a list of sponsors (or at least have random choice, so you don't end up with thirty McDonalds ads in a row). In short, as long as it's realistic and doesn't affect gameplay, I don't mind. But back to the images, I don't even know where to start. I look at them, and I can't find somewhere to start looking because it all looks so amazing. -

I'm hoping for some amount of customization to those bridges, but I'd be happy with just what's been shown.

Anyway, I've gotten used to clicking the SC4D link on my homepage when I go online, in addition to the other ones I click. I do still visit ST, though now it seems to be more from nostalgia of my nearly 3.5 years here than because of following anything. (After all, this was the first site I was ever active on. When I started here, I had dialup. ) Though, the STEX does come through with something every once in a while. But I do think a lot of things were lost in the split. I think a lot of features in the RHW seem to have disappeared following its move. But then, that could just be from the technical problems that tend to follow these major projects.

Even if it had been controlled demolition, why the assumption that it would have been the government? For some reason, conspiracy theorists love to come up with nearly plausible theories as far as execution, and then claim it was the government, ruining their (the theorists') credibility. Frankly, I think it's pretty obvious that it was terrorists that did it, not the government. I don't have nearly enough knowledge of physics and architecture to know exactly how it happened, but having seen the planes fly into the towers on live TV, I'm inclined to believe that was the cause. As for tower 7, most buildings with raging fires that nobody even tries to stop will collapse. And I think the reason it's the first is that other fires are fought.

3200 MHz= 3.2 GHz (Why, oh why don't we teach the metric system?) Anyway, the first thing I would try is removing plugins, one at a time, until the problem goes away. Start with the newest ones and work your way back. While you're at it, this is a great time to get rid of anything you don't use. Plugins slow your game down a LOT. The fewer you have, the better.

Originally posted by: patriots_1228 ^if im right, thats a common misconception. Dubai supposebly has a very strong "non-oil" economy growing, so that once everyone is juicing their cars with corn from nebraska, dubai won't go bad.quote> That is sort of true. They do depend on oil to an extent, but not nearly as much as the rest of the Middle East. According to The Compendium of the World's Knowledge, the UAE (United Arab Emirates, the nation where Dubai is) has the third-largest non-oil GDP in the Arab World, behind Egypt and Morocco. And yes, much of their money does come from tourism, but the UAE, and especially Dubai, has become a center for international finance and business for the Middle East. That being said, I do think many of their projects are quite wasteful and unnecessary. These rotating buildings are just ridiculous ways of showing off their money. And while I don't object to showing off one's money per se, shifting skyscrapers is just plain ridiculous.

That's what I love about Carlin. His stuff is incredibly awful, but it's just hilarious. And part of what makes it hilarious is that it's awful. It really is a shame that he died. EDIT for a quote: "In the Bull***** Department, a businessman can't hold a candle to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bull*****, big-time, major league bull*****, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bull***** story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bull***** story. Holy *****!" - George Carlin

The problem is that the program, for some reason, doesn't recognize any directory starting with \U, for example, C:\Users\{name}\Documents (aka your My Docs folder) In XP, the location was different, so there wasn't a problem. The solution to this is to move your documents folder by right clicking on the documents icon, clicking properties, then location, and then typing in a location that doesn't have a \U in it. For example, mine is now C:\Ed. You can move it back if you want, after you've created your region. EDIT: There are some other letters that won't work, too. If I remember correctly, it's \T and \V or something like that. EDIT2: Just in case someone searches this later on, the letters it can't start with are \N \U and \T, case insensitive.

What you can do, rather than elevate the roundabout, is convert the RHW to avenue, then elevated avenue, then elevated highway, and there's a piece that lets you put elevated highway over an avenue roundabout. That way you'd only have one tunnel.

This is playing with people's emotions. It goes way too far. I hope every damn one of those administrators is fired, and then sued until they can't see the light of day. And those students deserve the complete ostracism that they are about to receive. If anyone I knew did this, they'd wish they were dead. That is just flat out wrong. Originally posted by: Easy Bakes I guess they got the shock they wanted.I dont think these kids will remember anything except they were lied to. quote> Exactly! They aren't going to take away a lesson about drunk driving. This will only teach contempt and distrust for authority. Yes, seeing someone die because of drunk driving sucks. And it will most likely stop you from driving drunk. But only if it actually happens. I never thought I'd say this, but thank God for emotional distress lawsuits. EDIT: A lot of people seem to think that this is the same as what they did at their school, were some people dressed up like dead people and you couldn't talk to them. That's something that's acceptable, though not particularly effective. THAT ISN'T WHAT THIS WAS! Students were lead to believe that their best friends had died. They did not have any way of knowing that this was not actually true. It wasn't until word came out, or they were told by teachers because it was so hard on them, that they found out that their "friends" had purposefully deceived them. And that is unacceptable.
