I believe he would be referring to thunderstorms, a much more common meteorological event starting in "T" and ending in "storms".

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Tomorrow's set to be 0 to 13 Celsius. Sunny, which is good.

EDIT: maybe I should be wearing a helmet and riding the short bus to school... 3612

I can't believe how windy this place is. I thought it was kinda windy in SE Michigan because it's so flat nothing really breaks the wind, but here in Izu, it's just ridiculous. If you've watched My Neighbor Totoro and know of the Nekobus, it's true. The wind just howls by all the time. Great for the surfers in town.

My university's anime society is hosting a convention on Sunday. It'll be the first convention I've ever been to.

We (AP Psychology, AP Biology, and Human Physiology) had a fieldtrip to the Museum of Science and Industry today. I saw many, many people without their skin. (Go look up Body Worlds Exhibition.)

There are two problems I have with conventions:

    1) Too many people to effectively socialize. In a large crowd, all you can really do is stick to yourself and/or whomever you came with. Mingling requires smaller groups.

    2) The subject matter of your typical convention (anime, video games, sci-fi, etc.) is of interest to me, but not incredibly so. I would be a lightweight compared to the other people present on most relevant subjects.

I have never been to a convention in the traditional sense (unless baseball card shows count, I've been to a couple of those). Although, I do have a younger cousin who's getting into them, and she's trying to convince me to go to one with her. We'll see, maybe I will.

It's kinda fun to go to a convention. People watching in and of itself is always amusing. However, I haven't been to a convention since the Wizard World Chicago Con in like, 2000 or 2001. Eventually I'd like to go back to the Motor City Con, it's much smaller and less busy, so you can walk a bit more freely and the "con smell" doesn't usually kick in until late Saturday or Sunday (at the Chicago Con it felt like the "con smell" was present from the very beginning).

My dad and I used to go to the Chicago Wizard world con every year when I was younger. I haven't gone in probably 4 years, but he still takes my brother and one of my cousins every year now.
