Australia's constitution has the following under the definitions:

"The States" shall mean such of the colonies of New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and South Australia, including the northern territory of South Australia, as for the time being are parts of the Commonwealth, and such colonies or territories as may be admitted into or established by the Commonwealth as States; and each of such parts of the Commonwealth shall be called "a State".

Note New Zealand. They didn't want to join at the time, but if they ever change their mind they can become part of Australia. I'm not sure if that would be backdated to 1901 though.

If they were admitted as one state now, they'd be the 4th most populous. If the North and South Islands were admitted as separate states, they would be 4th and 6th, respectively. We'd probably have to change the name of the entire unified country though. No self-respecting Kiwi would ever call themselves Australian.

I've been to 17 of the 50 US states (+DC). But, really, I think it's more telling if you go by county:

Not pictured: Ontario, the only foreign province/state/whatever that I've ever been to.

Though, I will be headed to Quebec at the end of the month, and come July I will probably be adding Indiana and Kentucky to my states tally, bringing that total to 19.

Wouldnt have thought Scotland would make it independently, their economy relies on England too much. But i dont know about FPTP being bad. Although i dont really know which one i would go for. I would probably go for first past the post though, as that person is who the highest number of people will be happy with and it hasnt done that badly. AV wouldnt have been bad either tho.
