First of all, Aaron, I have to bow before you. You're like some sort of machine or ... or deity! You do so much it's beyond admiration point.

Second, Fran you are the most dedicated commentator and critic on this site. Having you reviewing and analyzing one's work is truly honor.

And third, with all the things Fran said, and all the thing Aaron changed, it looks like another building. Amazing collaboration that produced better than expected outcome! Great job both of you!

It's all a matter of perspective...from a BATer's perspective, this can better describe the situation:

This looks fantastic, I think it's your best yet. I preferred it with the canopy however, even if it wasn't true to life I think sometimes it is better to take some liberties than follow a design 100%, can't fault francis's observation skills though.

The point of recreating a design exactly as it came out from the architect's drawing board would be (perhaps, and i'd say probably) to recreate the feel and the sensibility of an era - then we might or might not agree as wheter it looks good or not according to our eyes.

I'd like to state a 'take-it-or-leave-it' opinion... as like both versions of the building -I liked the first variation for the 'greenhouses.penthouse', its interesting lines, the 'remodeled' look, plus the visual interest of other roof lines...and I like the second version for its faithfulness to recreate historical relevance... its just sometimes the zealousness for architectural-historical accuracy can get to such a point, that there is no room for personal interpretation, creative differences and possible lack of documentation to be faithful to the original design... but for all that, AG has good sense concerning these matters, so the model released is model chosen of the batter, irregardless of the winds of architectural sense... this is not to be taken as a 'slam' on Francis90b astute opinion, observations, which AG chose to act on... as I'm simply making a general observation... ok, getting off the soap=box

Ion_Cannon- Thank you So much, Francis has great skill, Francis makes me a better batter, but he's not the only one. :D

    sim_link- Thank you!!! :D

    Francis90b- Your right buddy. :D

Jack_wilds- Thank you, I love the detail stating how you like each building model version, it something I can't even type down itf the goal was to reach 100 50 words. :D

    605 park Avenue

I have made a lot of changes, I have a new brick type for this version of the building, I think it's perfect for the exquisite model of mine, the brick is different from the other bricks, I have worked on the brightness and other things to make it look fantasico in Photoshop. I have added the furniture for the terrace/balcoies to this model type. I still have to work on the night lights for this model and also I have to work on the version one of the building. When I upload this there should be two of each model type with a different color for the ones who want more of my apartments in there city. I can't wait to finished this beautiful building so I can make something new or work on something, that I have not released yet to STEX. :D

Ah no more white bricks? But that doesn't matter I just want this beauty in my cities really bad. We could all use more corner W2W buildings of this size.

The bricks do look great btw. :) This will be one of your best yet Aaron!

But what happened to the previous building you had shown us? It was another on Park Avenue that you said you finished and it was ready for the STEX? Did I miss it?

The brick texture does look fantastico alright. However, now the patio area stands out a lot. I think it needs a healthy dose of desaturation (mostly the floor).

Jeez, in the North view that odd rooftop penthouse looks like something M.C. Escher might have designed. :boggle:

Looks like TWrecks beat me, he pointed out something i've missed :P!

But yeah, i really agree with what he said, vegetation and patio looks too saturated, it would be good to tone them down.

I think that the orange bricks you've used for this one might look good on the other version as well - that's why i asked wheter you planned to use that texture only on this version.

I would also say, that this texture might work great on some older building as well (e.g the Franklin) if you wouldn't mind appying it to it ;).

Yeah, i am human after all :P

I think you should tone down vegetation as well....and also that umbrellas (i know they aren't exactly umbrellas, can't get the right word, lol) - colour is nice, but i think they look a bit too much coloured, like the ones you would get at the edge of a cocktail glass :P.

Also, think about the fact that if you leave something like an umbrella or some other thing made up by cloth out in the air, it would probably get somehow washed out ;).

Other than this, it's all stylish mid moderne black and white - lovely.

Ah so the other brick color was just an experiment? Or was that a variation?

Either color you choose it would look great to have. :)

I second Francis about the Umbrellas, I think the color and saturation is too strong. Like he said, a more worn look or toned down color would suffice.

    Other than that, it's perfect.

The vegetation looks fine (IMO) but I would leave out the patio furniture.

A nice patio brick/tile floor texture with the the flora would look just fine. Simple and clean.

I always like looking at your stuff in-game. Great detailing.

This building is really quite amazing.

I must confess that I miss the little awning that you removed on the penthouse: while it may not be true to form, it gave the BAT liveliness and movement at the upper floors (the BAT is wonderfully lively at the lower levels). If there is only one piece of advise that I can give (and you have demonstrated that you have an understanding of architecture) is to remember that all buildings that ever existed were at one time figments of the imagination in their creators' mind, so don't be afraid to tweak something to your liking....either way this will be in my plugins when you release it.:D

So yeah, we are allowed, in case we would think it better, to alter anything to our wishes and whims, claiming as a justification that everything is just the result of a mental product. (and in our little, we're also prone to think that our mind, and what it considers being right and good, and takes precedence against everything), even when the goal is recreating the mental product of a mind very different than ours, that is, listening the voice of another mind, rather than superimposing our own....what a pity that this way the image does not represent nothing but our whims :(...

I would like to bring to your attention that i'm going to recreate the Parthenon as the Athenians built it in V century BC..but wait, i think that an huge glass cone just next to the colunnade offers a great touch, and makes it more livelier and interesting...and i'm perfectly right to do so, it's a sensible and reasonable decision...after all, everything is a figment of an imagination, there's nothing right and wrong, reasonable or unreasonable...yeah, really.
