Hi everyone this is my first city journal and it is for my version of New York. The population is currently 10,863,433. In terms of realism please refer to the later pictures.

Welcome to Simtropolis, Very realisic first image. More images would be cool. Also 1 tip, If you upload the images to a image site such as photobucket and link it to your comments in the message menu it would make your City Journal alot easier to view!

Keep it up!

Thanks everyone for your help. Sorry that some of the offices haven't been constructed yet, it does slightly ruin some of the photos. Here are some more pictures:

Great stuff!!!! One correction -- I just came back from NYC yesterday.... The first photo -- it is Jersey City rather than Newark west of Manhattan... Newark is about 5-6 miles due west from Jersey City... 4.gif

I honestly have no idea how you can run this game with all that development. Nice work.

Oh, this is looking really great so far! Additionally, the off-angled roads look really good, definitely a bonuspoint for realism.

I just try to imagine how cool this would all look with all the buildings from real life...

    Wonderful start, keep going and

    looking forward to more,

Is it possible to find an appartment on 6th avenue in your city? Or are they as expansive as in real live?

Great. a ++ says more than words 4.gif

Hi all, I'll be posting some more pictures soon (especially more at street level) and I'm going to update the city slightly. The changes will include: editing Central Park to place in small roads and trees in the correct places; constructing the unbuilt offices; developing Governor's Island and Roosevelt Island; adding in some extra high rises to the area surrounding Central Park (mainly to the West); extending Broadway beyond Columbus Circle; adding in extra parks in Manhattan (small ones in the correct places) and adding in the Queensborough Housing project.

@lucky7 Thanks for feedback - especially since you are the creator of that extremely realistic New York City Journal on Sim City 4! The lack of realistic buildings is a little frustrating, I agree with you that it would dramatically improve the city (especially the Metlife building). Hopefully someone might create some custom content at some point.

    @Stef42 Thank you 4.gif

@Skimbo Sadly I think the appartments would be very expensive as the demand for them is so great, atleast that's realistic though 4.gif! It's a shame there isn't such a large demand for new offices but hopefully I'll fix that soon.

I agree with TekindusT....I don't know the game well but from my point of view it seems you're pushing this game to the limit and you're showing the true potential that it has. Hopefully down the line there will be custom NY buildings, and it will really bring this city out. Your aerial views are very realistic. Great job!

Hi again all, here are some new photos. Sorry they are mostly of the same areas I just thought some of them looked good with the camera mod. When I have completed the aforementioned changes I will post new photos.

Just to note, I notice that the FDR on the edge of manhattan facing queens and brooklyn is an avenue. In actual new york, its mostly a little highway so try grade separation in that section.

Hi all, I have updated the city slighty making all of the changes I said I would bar constructing Roosevelt Island as it didn't look very good. I have also removed the farms. As there are no longer any construction sites some of these pictures are the same as the originals - I just thought they looked better now. I have pretty much finished the city now so if anyone would like anymore pictures just tell me the location 4.gif

    Replys to messages:

@Benedict, Aaron Graham, Animaniacs, TekindusT and nba_94- Thank you all very much 4.gif!

@jazyje - Hope you liked the photos, if you would like anymore please say.

@GlobexCo - Glad you liked it. Your mod was extremely useful - thank you!

@socalwu - Thanks for pointing that out but for a lot of the way that road is 6 lanes anyway I think. I would change it I just fear that I don't have enough space 15.gif
