EXCELLENT! Even without custom content for realistic buildings, it still looks just like NYC.

It's the closest reproduction of NY I saw until now.....except Liberty City on GTA IV......

Nice work. You can now put some trees on the shoreline, it will look real better!

Hi everyone here's a small update. I have updated Downtown westward and now have the Australian road mod which changes some of the pictures. I would also like to thank TekindusT, Roger 51, hunkske, Jesse Swiss, GMT, mrtnrln, Jadus, Cockatoo-210893, cm39, Cobhris96, joshriddle, Herdervriend, Stef42 and Androv for their kind comments. I will hopefully begin a Paris CJ soon if I can overcome the problem listed in the technical problems forum.

Incredible CJ! Fascinating detail! Well done, to say the least!

Can you share some of your methods? How did you get the perfect grid in place? Do you work off real maps, how did you deal with scaling? How does this city perform when you play it, is it still smooth/playable?

Hi again all. I'd like to say a quick thanks to Jaybyrd05, Herdervriend, luddmamm, Jesse Swiss and kounoupi for their kind comments. Here is another update. I have done a few pictures of the traffic situation as Jesse Swiss asked - I hope they are OK! Some of these pictures are repeats of earlier ones but I've turned on AA which I think makes them look much better.

@kounoupi - Thanks for your questions. I designed my grid layout from the location (angle) of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building in order to get avenues that run North-South. I use the New York map in GlobexCo's Unlocker mod but I deleted all of the roads in Manhattan and redid them as many of them were not straight. In terms of scale I just do it from eye but the accuracy of the map (e.g. small natural harbours) helps me get my bearings. The city is just about OK in terms of playability but I have to run in on the lowest settings. Hope that answers your questions, if you have any more just ask!

Wow! That is amazing! I love it! So, will you upload your city somewhere? If at least 3 other people want it also, maybe you should set it up as a torrent.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Whoa, I haven't stopped by here in a lot of time... I've liked all the updates since I last commented, I've really loved the penultimate one, with all these panoramic shots and pics from the highway... All that "street view" pics have impressed me a lot!

BTW, I think you're lacking of a really tall building on Columbus Circle, the block made by Broadway, Central Park West and West 61st. It would be the Trump International Hotel...

    Please, keep it up!
