I looked at that interchange and just thought "Holy crap! That is humongous and REALLY complex." But I followed the ramps, and it all seems to work, but good luck turning off the MIS into the tunnel! 18.gif

Nice volleyball interchange. That'd be interesting if they put elevated roundabouts in the next NAM.

I'll post my latest T from a new region I'm working on in addition to my  CJ later--just need to take a pic of it!

BTW, Patricius, I'm fixing the RHW textures this morning, and it will probably be on the STEX this afternoon.

Patricius Maximus: Very, very nice!!

Well I guess it's time...

I will post a larger image when I learn how haljackey did his like that...

Interchange.jpg

I guess it's a different way of building a RHW cloverleaf...

I didn't really base this off any paticular intersection, I just started three different highways, dragged another through the center, and then to further make it complicated, the terminus of an avenue. Its fully functional. 9.gif

The "skipping" is from the game crashing while I was saving it one time, having me to redrag every single tile of roadway. 22.gif But you get the gist of it.

tahill, you have to replace the STARTPAGE=29 with 30 in your address bar to show this page. It's a glitch with the site that I've noticed before: Sometimes the next page's button doesn't show up.

I've finally got another cool one. It's a T interchange that took me a few hours to get right due to space constraints.
WestonHillsTinterchange.jpg

I had another one, but I accidently ruined the picture trying to upload it as a jpeg, so I'll link to it as a png here.

Sorry about the quality of the first one. The other day I figured out how to upload perfect, correctly sized, crystal clear jpegs, and today I'm doing the exact same thing, but some of them are turning out so horribly messed up that I can't stand to look at them.

Note: These images use a set of RHW textures not released to the public yet.

Me and videosean at SC4D made them. 9.gif I'm uploading them to the STEX right now. I think I've ironed all the bugs out.

Glad you like them.

Textures uploaded. I'm going to want to be seeing them in people's CJs now! 11.gif

And here they are.

The thing about RHW is that you have to use tunnels. It's a big project, adn it takes days to complete. Honestly, though, I have a slight hate for RHW. Its Not the most managable wayto construct a highway, but it serves as a piece of eye candy, and something that can be used. But I think that a lot of the stuff here is good, but you just have to look.

Badi_Dea: That first interchange is an impressive trumpet variant. Everything looks like it has been tuned to perfection. Also, it is a bit hypnotic.

Tommy7777: Some are big, some aren't. However, I haven't heard of an interchange taking days to complete. My record for longest building is 4 hours. But, that is the point of the RHW/MIS. You can make the interchange exactly how you want. Big or small, complicated or simple, grade seperated or at-grade.

Anyway, enough for my RHW rant. Here I present a three-level stacked roundabout:

10449517jb0.jpg

I had to improvise with tunnels, since the NAM does not include an elevated roundabout as of now. But it is fully functional.

What you can do, rather than elevate the roundabout, is convert the RHW to avenue, then elevated avenue, then elevated highway, and there's a piece that lets you put elevated highway over an avenue roundabout. That way you'd only have one tunnel.

Great interchanges everybody! Here's a very small contribution from me...

In the third picture, the ramp looks a bit too close. A dangerous weaving area.

I have a question,

I am new to the RHW, and was wondering if the yellow line on the RHW-4 should be on the inside or outside?

also, could some1 post an interchange of an RHW-4 exit to a parallel road?

thank you. 4.gif

cityhawk: You have a good-looking parclo variant there. With some more beautification, the area will look great  44.gif

thinboy66: You're right. It could be modified to a parclo to reduce weaving.

Yeah_Right: It should be placed on the inside. I'll build the request when I have time.

Here is my avenue Full Stack Interchange:

71750442nz0.jpg

It takes up far less space than Mightygoose's RHW full stack, but takes up more space than the FHW stack.

It's great for junctions with 8000+ cars per day.

Please post comments and/or suggestions.

Very nice interchanges again all of you! 44.gif

Patricius Maximus, you beat me with your Full Stack  2.gif; I've done one almost identical to yours this weekend:

Intersections-18Feb001213984035.jpg

But I also tried also a fully handmade cloverleaf interchange (orthogonal):

Intersections-18Feb001213983962.jpg

...and diagonal:

Intersections-18Feb001213983850.jpg

Furthermore,  I fine tuned my earlier posted turbine interchange and tried to implement the tips from Haljackey (Thanks for the hints).

Originally posted by: haljackey McDuell: Wow, very well done!

-I would watch the tunnel entrances/exits though. It looks kinda weird to see a tunnel begin right where another one burrows below (central tunnels). Just spacing them one tile apart would be much better.

-Watch your sloping too. The angle of decent/accent from the tunnels look a little too steep in my opinion. Try to elongate the span, decreasing the angle.

For everyone else, please try to stay on topic. This is Show Us Your Interchanges! Discussion about roads and stuff can go here, as long as they are short. That would make this thread a bit cleaner.

Best,

-Haljackeyquote>

McDuell: Those are nice!! I like the newer turbine interchange better and it is much more detailed with it's surroundings...

I'm posting one of my two:

OtherInterchange.jpg

It is simply a partial cloverleaf in a new style...

Please post comments or suggestions.

Sorry I'm not posting the other one untill I finish updating my CJ.

Well, I have been working with RHW, and started to get use to it. I have built a few interchanges (and if someone tells me how to post images here (again)) but for the mean time, I have started to create my own custom Highway signs, but thats hard too... I'll update in a few days and hopefully have an photo of one of my interchanges up.

Patricius: Red X (fix your image link)

McDuell: Nice turbine, and I like the flow of that diagonal cloverleaf.

un1, why not use the highway on-slope puzzle piece so the overpass matches the rest of the highway?

Tommy7777, upload images to photobucket (or imageshack, photobucket just doesn't have annoying popups and banner ads, so I prefer it), and copy the direct link in the little box next to the image, then when posting on here click the image button, and past the link in the URL box.

Good luck on the highway signs, and this is a good tool to make them with (if you're not already using it).

McDuell: My stack is more utilitarian, but it serves the same function. That cloverleaf looks very beautified. You also seem to be a great, but secretive, interchange designer  22.gif

un1: Pretty nice.

Tommy7777: Glad you're getting the hang of it. It just takes a little time. Experiment a little and think about what you want for your interchanges. Then you'll go far.

deathtopumpkins: Link fixed.

Here is a confusing, but complete, maze of parclos and diamonds in a city of mine:

27051186ou0.jpg

The commuters like most of it, but it is kind of confusing, even to me  47.gif

Please post comments and/or suggestions.
