AndCar: A little large...

I redid that strange trumpet interchange I made into a real trumpet.

I know it's compact but that's all of the room I have.

AndCar:  Looks a bit overloaded.  Getting rid of the intersections and the sharp 90 degree turns would work wonders!

un1: A classic.  It looks like you have room to make a smooth loop curve, so why don't you?

Anyways, some new ones from me, like I promised!

    Haljackey, great interchanges as always.

Now for one of mine. As seen in my CJ, here's the trumpet interchange between VS-1 and VS-2.

Here's a Directional "T" interchange of mine. Route 149 (Airport Access Road) makes a ninety degree turn here ( l_ ), and Route 56 begins/terminates at this intersection. This was a challenge because Route 149 is a right angle - a trumpet interchange would not have worked because the left-hand lanes of Route 149 would have gone to Route 56. Ultimately the solution was multiple flyover ramps and I have to admit it looks pretty good.

pagenotfound: Don't know what that is. Combines elements of turbines, parclos, and diamonds.

    AndCar: Simple, but creative.

un1: A nice trumpet. Much better.

haljackey: Neat interchanges in pics 2 and 3. Nice parclo and Directional T in Pic 1, but there is a weaving section just before the T. Intentional?

flyinbird93: Much, much better. Although there is still some weaving, it is not uncommon in ring roads.

Nexis: Very... simple. Great for a farm region.

The_Hutt: As usual, very asthetic work. Love the sloping. With the bonus of no weaving.

068664663: Full cloverleaf. Seen before, way back. Still, it is a change from the usual design.

Wow, that was a lot of replies. But I like to comment on them 3.gif.

I have 2 more of mine to show. These interchanges have been seen before, but GLR has been added to them.

Here is the terminating interchange. Note the GLR-in-Avenue:

    35583836qd3.jpg

And the previously seen cloverstack. Notice the development and retaining walls:

    44474275qn0.jpg

    That's all for now.

    More will come later.

    Please post comments and suggestions.

068664663:  Nice cloverleaf!  Its much different than the one Maxis did!

PM:  Nice use of GLR ,mixed in with the interchanges!

I don't think there's any weaving in the pic.  If you are talking about the on-ramp just before the T that is supposed to be a direct connection northbound.  No weaving there.

Meh.. may as well post this sucker here... Its a unique stack interchange.  It is unique because it involves sunken, ground and elevated highways whereas the normal stack interchange is just ground and elevated highways.

The area around it has just been developed recently, and the junction is predicted to see heavy traffic soon.

The 2nd to last one doesn't have a name, mostly because it has so much weaving that most RL planners would never make one. The best name for it is a cloverleaf/diamond hybrid.

I agree -- too much weaving. Converting that side to a classic diamond would be better.

About RL planners not making one; don't be too sure:

    dontbetoosuregm5.jpg

    It's near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, USA.

I can think of a name for it -- the weaving diamond.

The planners must have been drunk when designing that thing.

So why not have one of those T-interchanges connect to the inside so it takes some of the pressure off of the underpasses?

Remade my "weaving diamond" a bit.

As goofy as it looks, there was actually a reason for building it like that.  Underneath that overpass used to be a tollbooth.  All of Kentucky's Parkways used to be tolled at one time and they used this goofy arrangement to ensure everybody paid the toll.

My first post in this topic. The first two images are of an Maxis Elevated Highway Interchange, that haven't been posted here before (I believe). Yes it has weaving, but it is probably the most space-efficient interchange possible (at least as long as both highways have an uniterupted flow). It is also easy to make u-turns, unlike most interchanges. Finally it is flexible, and the further away you put the u-turn, the less weaving, but it also means longer commuting times.

The last image is just something I tested when I was already in interchange-building-mode, a sort of poor man's cloverleaf.

Owaen: Very cool. I like the loop in the last picture!

boredtodeath: Interesting interchange. You said it was space efficient? The stack interchange would actually be shorter lengthwise, but would take a few more tiles in the corners, plus it eliminates weaving!
