So for north american's its 9th Oct release date..does that mean the game(boxed version as in physical disc) will reach them on 9th or on 8th so that they can start playing on the 9th midnight when they get the CD keys?

EDIT : 12:03 here in North America still no CD key in the e-mail

Hmmmmm let's see how long it takes the great, powerful, profitable (LOL - yeah right), United States Postal Service to bring this across town from Zip code 28228 to zip code 28210........ These are the times I really like UPS and FedEx better...... :-)

The "first-class" mail is the cheapest one offered by USPS. You would think that upon spending 40 bucks for a game (this means for monte cristo that you are a potential PO subscriber) Monte Cristo will make sure it reaches you on time but I guess MC was just after our money and it kinda makes them biased towards people who have fast internet connections and who can just order a digital download instead of waiting for the game to arrive in the mail.

USPS is the most unreliable shipper in the world... It took 3 days for me to get my game from the same place (Kearny, NJ) I live in New York - Long Island.

I can't even register may game yet and I had the CD Key for about 24 Hours and the game for about 36 hours. I still haven't received my validation email... I was in an email back and forth yesterday with MC but today I have not received 1... I will now have a useless game that I have waited so long to play sitting on shelf.... Back to a game that does work Empire TW for the time being.... Or better yet OFP2 will be on my door step later this afternoon

I just got off the line with the Monte Cristo Tech support and quite frankly I am enraged. The lady said that the first-class mail takes 5-7 days to reach the person.  that was mentioned NO WHERE on the website when I was pre-ordering.  The least what they could have done is mention on the website that the mail order takes 5-7 days in mail so choose wisely if u wanna go for digital download or mail order.

edited for content.

I've mentioned this before.  Be patient.  Your time to play will come.  It may not be today, but you WILL get a chance to download the digital download.

My game was despatched by Play a few days ago, but still no show. London and many other local posties are on strike. Is anyone in the UK suffering delays, or are they finding mail coming through?

Like you, I pre-ordered mine from Play.com. Product despatch notice recieved yesterday. Was hoping it would be delivered today, but no postman at all. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Well... I can dream can't I?

The good news is Play.com issued the activation code this afternoon. Looks like I'm all dressed up with no where to go.

Perhaps the more lucky of you can tease us with your screenshots and initial journals.

I feel your pain. The problem is that GameStop don't handle digital downloads, they contract it out to a crappy 3rd party company called TryMedia which has to be the worst run company on planet earth. This is not Monte Cristo's fualt. Well it is if you want to blame them for doing bussness with such a horrid company.

I ordered my game through them as well, it took them 14 hours to process the order, they ended up charging me twice, won't respond to my emails, have no support phone number, and to add insult, their download is painfuly super slow. I'm still downloading 7.gif

From what I have been reading around the net on this and other forums, Direct2Drive and Steam customers got instant downloads, fast speeds, and good service. Just my luck, and yours as well it seems. The lesson I learned here is simple, I should have done my homework before buying through GameStop/TryMedia. Oh well, good luck, I hope you get your game.

The keys don't ship in the box. They should have sent it to the email addy you used when your ordered the game.  If it's not in your inbox, check your spam folder. If you still can't find it just email support for help.

I see that the original email did say they would be sending the "key" when the game was shipped.  Well obviously they didn't do that, or if they did it got lost in the ether.  My game was "shipped" on the 6th, arrived today on the 9th.  Maybe they will come through sometime.  I sent an email to the old "demo" address which is the only one I have.

Also, people... do you not read your e-mail invoices?

Says right here:

"Game Key:

Your unique game key will be sent to you via email once your order has shipped."

The same thing happened to me! I pre-ordered the CD from Monte Cristo on September 1. I read that we would get it "a few days before release date." But I've DESPERATELY been checking the mail and guess what, NOTHING!!! Today was the launch day for North America, and I still haven't gotten it. I sent a message to MC about how do I know when I'll get it, but they haven't responded! I did, however, get my activation key, so that's good. I live in Toronto, Ontario, just to let you know! Hope we get our games soon! I can't wait to start playing! I was disappointed, because I wanted to use the long weekend to test it out, but what am I gonna do, right? This is part of life.

Your problem is the postal service.  They're slow and unreliable.  I got my key in the e-mail, but still haven't recieved the game.

 Hi

I pre-ordered my game on 7th Oct and on 8th Oct I recieved an email from TMP direct that my order has been "shipped". It said in the Monte Cristo e-mail that "Your unique game key will be sent to you via email once your order has shipped." But until now, I see no CD key in my e-mail. Also, the main reason to pre-order the game is to be one of the people to play it on the date the game is launched, if Monte Cristo couldnt supply the game to people on the day of its launch, it should have stopped taking pre-orders probably a week before the game was supposed to be launched.

I have no idea who is managing all this and how they are doing it. I even e-mailed their tech support but no reply.

PS: The order tracker says that my order was "processed" at 8:30 pm at New Jersey on Oct. 8 so if the game doesnt arrive today that means I would probably have to wait until MONDAY cos in my opinion USPS doesnt deliver on saturday and/or sunday.

Edited unnecessary language.
