I too have had a problem with snapping the zones into place. Hopefully MC will look into that. As for the slowing down of the game once you reach the millions, the same kind of happened with SimCity 4, but to a less noticeable extent. Since Cities XL is more graphics-intensive than SimCity 4, the game, in order to keep on running, has to slow down, as available memory gets used up. The best thing to do is go to lower settings once that happens.

The Worst Ordinances ever (Poll Included)
simidavid replied to Cougar2004's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Ordinances are cool, because they bring realisticity (made-up word) to SimCity 4. Although I don't find a use for some of them (like the Commuter Shuttle one), most I know how to use to my full advantage. -
Would you want power lines in Cities XL ??? (with poll)
simidavid replied to supercity124's topic in Cities XXL
Power lines would be okay if zones needed to be connected to a power source to get electricity. But since they don't, then no, power lines aren't necessary. -
You can answer the poll and write your own opinion about how Cities XL has appealed to you.

This was a bad move from MC, considering that we are still recession-weary. They should've just lowered prices to attract more people, which would add up to their bottom line, since there would be more people paying. But, as we know, MC has done some mistakes in the past, and most certainly will do them in the future!

The SimCity 5 Thread (Formerly "Is SimCity 5 Ever Coming Out?").
simidavid replied to xterra09's topic in City-Building Games
From what I've heard, SCS was SimCity 5, in the fact that it was the 5th SimCity to come out. But from my, and other people's, viewpoint, SCS is NOT SimCity 5. SimCity 4 is better than it, which is a bad sign, because a successor is usually better than it's predecessor. For example, SimCity 4 has WAY more transportation options, as well as the fantastic zoning system. Plopping can be fun, but just plopping alone is not good enough to build a realistic city. If SimCity 5 did come out, it should at least be like SimCity 4, but with better 3-D graphics (one of the good things of SCS), an overhauled transportation system (more realistic highways, dedicated lanes, native TRAM system, larger airport, bus stops that don't occupy space on the side of the road), and a quicker game overall. Also, we should get the option if we want to build cities in a region, or if we want to build one large city, like SimCity 3000. And to top it off, if we want to build a region, we should be allowed to choose the size and shape of the cities. That would be my perfect SimCity 5. -
There is no comparison between SimCity 4 and Cities XL. Its obvious that SimCity 4 beats Cities XL by a mile! Sure, Cities XL has its advantages, such as 3-D graphics, more realistic economy, and better layout system. But what ruined it the most was the fact that only Planet Offer subscribers get access to the new mass transit system. Also, to get the most out of the game, you have to pay a monthly fee, which sucks! That is why I prefer SimCity 4 better, but also because of its superior mass transit systems, zoning and rezoning system, and the thousands of mods and downloads that take it the extra mile. P.S. I own and play both games, so I can legitimately tell the differences between the 2.

I've had the same problem, except it's been with R$$$ mansions. They always build up when I start my city (since I put in all the civics and necessities first), and because not that much high wealth businesses appear at the beginning, they soon get abandoned, and make my city look ugly. I have fear in raising R$$$ taxes, because I think that it would scare off any future R$$$ projects (such as high rises). I haven't been able to solve this problem, but I have been able to keep it at a moderation. I don't know how, but I have!!!

MC, if you are reading this, read carefully. Promises are things that you can make sure will happen. One of your promises was to include mass transit in the game. Did you do that? No. We Solo players feel left out because of your PO (and money) obsession. You are loosing money, anyway, as only a small number of people will be willing to pay for the PO. Why couldn't you just stick to the Solo mode and make a game that could've really WOW'd us, that would be worthy enough to be compared to SimCity 4 (the greatest SimCity of all time!). What I'm asking for is at least let us pay a one-time fee for the additional content, including mass transit. Or include it as an expansion pack. If you want money, that's the way to go. Please consider this before the Solo Cities XL is recognized as another SimCity Societies...

This is directed at MC. The whole point that we were so amazed by Cities XL was because it was the latest city-building simulator that looked like it could rival SimCity 4. But then you took mass transit out of Solo mode and made it available only to PO subscribers?! Do you realize what mistake you made? Mass transit is an ESSENTIAL to any city simulation game. By taking it out of Solo mode, the most POPULAR mode of Cities XL, I bet, you have caused some people to change their minds about buying the game, as well as some negative reviews. Stop this before it's too late. If you want, we Solo players will even pay a one-time fee just to get the mass transit features and additional content. You can even place it in an expansion pack! Think about it, before you go from to . Anybody who agrees with me can post their response here and your opinion on it. Together we can change MC's mind!!!

POLL: Would you pay for extra content for single player?
simidavid replied to Asheroo's topic in Cities XXL
Yes I would! The bus system looks cool, and I'd love to get the different road styles that would be included in a future update! New buildings and maps would be sweet too. MC would really benefit from this, because since only a few people will actually use the PO subscription, they will rack up more money selling extra content to Solo players than what they receive from the PO players! -
POLL: Would you pay for extra content for single player?
simidavid replied to Asheroo's topic in Cities XXL
You gave me a good idea! I might make a YouTube petition, but I'll first have to consider it. -
Although I don't agree with MC's approach to only providing free content to PO subscribers, Solo players should at least have the right to pay a small fee for the extra content. I feel that MC has strayed away from making a game that would blow a city builder's mind away, to making a game that could line their pockets with money This game has a lot of potential, but it will only be realized after MC puts it's act together and starts including Solo players into all the fun, because we paid for the game too!

Pre-Orders / Activation Key / Download Issues
simidavid replied to d53642's topic in Cities XXL Technical Issues
I can't believe it. It's past October 9th, and I haven't gotten the game yet! And I pre-ordered since September 1st! I read that pre-orders made in Sept. were sent out 1 week before the launch date (By the way, I'm in North America, Canada to be precise), so that means that I should probably get it next week. Bad news? Thanksgiving's this Monday. And what does that mean? No postal service. So even if my game arrives on Monday, I won't be able to get it because no packages are delivered on holidays. I just hope USPS isn't as slow as I've heard they are!
