Can you put all of the trains in the pak folder, or can only one type be in the pak folder at a time? -
[mod] City Road Link Mods (3 mods)
kusanagi-sama replied to jeremy12's topic in Cities XXL Custom Content Creation
So, we only need to download the version 2 (mod #2) or all three? -
If someone is on dialup, why are are they buying games that require an internet connection in the first place, considering said games tend to need an active connection to stay up to date with patches.

The ever increasing list of bugs
kusanagi-sama replied to Rallo00's topic in Cities XXL Technical Issues
Originally posted by: zerosugar Ive been writing a list of all the stuff i find wrong, annoying or simply ideas that would probably be welcome in the game. I actually posted these through the CXL feedback page but the answers i got back were very defensive and somewhat dumb to be honest. So heres the list. Roads should be less Snap to Grid, they are very hard to place when in close proximity to anything else Option to choose which size roads to use when laying grids for houses etc Tell me what rankings im in, not just how many im in When i delete a city id like to be able to use the city name again straight away, for some reason you cant, i think it has to do with incremental server saves Middle mouse rotation is way to fast in my opinion Every time my Internet goes down (which for some reason due to loosing my gateway constantly) means my single player game freezes and the game becomes non responsive until the Internet is back up and running I have found many times that buying a token does not balance the - token totals, many times i have found that i have had to buy 2 tokens to make a -1 turn into a 0 The whole % theme throughout the game is very vague, whats wrong with giving us some proper statistics, its nice to know that if i buy 6 more offices, im going to need No of citizens quote> Its possible that this last one was to make the game less confusing for the casual gamer? It had been this way during the beta and MC changed it to the % instead, this actually made me confused for a bit, because giving actual numbers for housing, I actually knew how much to build to get it to zero again. -
Both of you have a 9800GX2 (the first two posts), its your video card going bad. What brand is it? Google "black screen of death" and 9800GX2.

This is not only a paypal problem.quote> Are you sure it was approved, or was a hold placed for approval while you downloaded? Some transactions can take 7 business days to actually approve and a hold of that amount is placed on your account to ensure you don't overspend and reassure the seller that you have the money. My bank puts a one week hold on all my payments to my college because they investigate each payment for fraud on my university's end. My bank also blocked spending online once to a retailer that was out of country because it was not my normal purchase pattern. I had to call my bank to sort the mess out. It is annoying, but it can save you from identy theft... quote> I hate it when banks put a hold on your money for that long. Bank of America did that alot, and I still wound up with overdrafts (mainly due to clearing largest transaction first). I switched to my local City Credit Union, they hold transactions for two days (online transactions are held two days, transactions using the debit/credit card are cleared instantaneously, including the ATM), and I don't have problems with overdrafting anymore.

I'll never understand why Monte Cristo chose to have highway links cost 100,000C per turn while regular street links are just 1000C per turn. That's just insane, highway links should be 10,000C per turn.

Show off your cities! (Screen Shots)

I should mention that I do enjoy the graphics and the challenge of trying to create a city and all the options available to the game, but it still needs some work though.

Start your low density areas where they'll stay, and work your way towards the downtown centre you plan to build. This makes a nice progression up to the tall buildings and looks extremely realistic if done properly. If you look at this dscreen, I started my town on the far end of this shot, and worked my way to the coast, where I knew I wanted my high density stuff. No demolishing required. quote> I do a bit of planning, but what you are doing there is essentially what I've been doing as well. See the two pictures I posted above.

Nothing population in my city..
kusanagi-sama replied to abcv2v's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Originally posted by: abcv2v Originally posted by: kusanagi-sama Do you have a city link?quote> Umm, I'm not sure can you enligher me that? quote> I didn't notice I was posting in a Sim City forum. Anyway, its always a good idea to have connections to other cities, even in Sim City. However, I haven't played Sim City 4 in about 4 or 5 years, so I can't help you with your problems at the moment. -

Originally posted by: bluesin Wow lol. I usually don't play citybuilder games and to be honest I can't get above a population of about 10k before I go bankrupt so far. Great job though, I wish I knew how to get those bridges to work My map has a medium sized island on it for holiday stuff and when I tried to create a bridge to/from it I couldn't get the roads to link up with it So rebuilding and destroying the bridges over and over contributed to the demise of my city quote> You can't actually go bankrupt in CXL like you do in SC4. The debt just keeps getting higher and higher. (-500,000 in SC4, I went as higher than -250,000,000 in CXL once, and it was still going). Also, that guy's city is soooo disorganized. I like keeping mine in a regular grid pattern. Though, I do have to admit, it makes for a more realistic city. I just hate wasting space like that because I want to make my population as high as possible, and don't want to go back and replace low density residential with high density. Anyway, here's my last city before the beta went offline. Population was a little over 1 million. I had to give up because the map wound up getting overwhelmed by pollution after I used the cheat/unlock buildings to put oil buildings in the manufacturing district. (upper left corner of overhead view) (how do I get my pictures to look like the guy's above?)
