Will you continue your Planet Offer if the features and gameplay remain same...
intristin replied to mrmaye's topic in Cities XXL
The free weekend which started on Halloween has shown me that the trade is still beyond laggy and bugged even after all the so called fixes. I WILL NOT subscribe until trade is working! It's the only MMO feature of this game. I really want to love this game, but it's beyond broken at the moment. So as it stands now, NO, I will not be subscribing at this time. -

I'm working on a mod that removes the need for any resources ie: fuel, electricity etc. So far I have 20,000 people with only the original resource centre. Once it reaches 100,000 i will post it online!quote> checked out the fprum with google translate. Wow you all have A LOT of GREAT mods. Gonna download and try a few later.

downloaded it and very excited, so stupid that solo don't allow sandbox. Now if we could only get a fix/hack for trade and all would be well with the world.

morriswalters, what map is that?
-
Well that's really odd. As your key is emailed to you, not mailed or included on the box. You should key your spam folder, as you should have got your key before the box.
-
Well when you think about it, there is absolutely no value to having a second copy of the game as it would not net a second account key. You could have 50 copies of the game but with only one key you can only use 1 copy. So if he is trying to scam, which I highly doubt, he would have to be pretty stupid. Hopefully MC steps up and gets him the software. Most likely he already has the key.

The easiest way to do this without getting the "red can't do that" errors is as follows. Step 1: Create the road on both sides of the river bank first, leaving about an inch of land (depending on zoom level) between the road and the river on both sides. Step 2: Using the bridge tool in "curved" mode, pull the bridge "from the road" to just past the water line, then click (1 time) to set way-point, then continue to pull to about the center of the river, then double click to build. Step3: Repeat this for the other side, pull the bridge "from the road" to just past the water line, then click (1 time) to set way-point, then continue to pull to the half built bridge in center of the river, then double click to build it. I have found this to be the quickest and easiest way to build bridges with the smallest ramps possible without errors. Remember you need to use "curved" option for this to work.

They should cap it to only list cites over certain populations. That would fix the problem of showing new cities.

I don't believe the trade system is too hard, it's just that it's too buggy and slow at the moment. My PO free trial has ended and I decided not to pay for it until these issues are fixed. The trade system needs a lot of work and I really hope they fix it. I will keep checking back because other than this and a few other issues, the game is fun and has lots of potential. It's just not worth the money in it's current state.

I know, it's a far, far out idea, but maybe, just maybe, it has some merit.... quote> Like I said it "sounded like" not "is definitely" a paid review. I happen to like the game a lot myself and I'm enjoying playing it. However Cites XL has many flaws which where completely ignored in the IGN review. Regardless of if a reviewer likes or hates a game, they shouldn't write a one sided review. I would not call anything in Gamespot's review untrue, it's an honest assessment of the current state of the game. They mentioned both the good and the bad which is why I posted what I did above. IGN did not, which is why I said it "sounds" like a paid review. I have no idea how they handle such things. As far as your claim of gamespot's "tarnished reputation", I have no idea about that as I don't visit either site that often.

This is really getting out of hand. I loose connection to the server for some unknown reason, try to log back in and I'm told I'm already connected and the client asks me to log out first. How in the world can I log out when I'm not logged in? I can't count the number of times this has happened. I have sent numerous emails to support, all ignored. I'm beyond frustrated with this. When a player logs in, it should automatically boot any other connections on that account, not ask you to log out. If I'm entering the password correctly clearly it's my account. The way this is set up makes absolutely no sense. Please fix this...

Leisure Activities totally baffles me as well. The bowling alley and the basketball court seem to please the lower end of the food chain. But nothing at all seems to please the snobs. I'm not really surprised since I just can't see rich people bowling or shooting hoops in a neighborhood court. We need much more Leisure Activities too choose from. I also agree the the poster above, retail should count depending on what type of business it is.

I would avoid GameStop's Digital store as the download is extremely slow and it took them 14 hours to send the email with the code and download link. I have never used Steam or D2D, but I have heard that they are both good and have fast downloads. But don't take my word for it as I have never experienced either first hand. I myself wish I would have done a little research before going with GameStop as I'm deeply regretting it.
