I had to, I caught a virus some weeks ago. It disabled my antivirus from the inside, as well as every other program which needed to get a feedback from a server (Dropbox, SolidWorks update center, and others). Before formatting, I tried reinstalling the antivirus program, re-installing it absolutely fresh, restoring the system several times... to no avail. The only option was formatting.

No idea, I'm no expert. The only suspicious thing I found it was a resident program hosted on the Temp folder of my user called isxecy.exe. A search on Google brought nothing and I couldn't delete it. I always supected on this file. After deleting this program by starting the computer from the D: drive, with a built-in Ubuntu OS and several antivirus programs (they couldn't get their updates from the Internet, either), nothing changed.

So you were able to boot Linux using GRUB.  Do you have a copy of CLAM-AV loaded on the Ubuntu partition?  It might have clarified that beast.

 

One of the big drawbacks to Windows is the secrecy in which the source code is held.  Microsoft's greed is causing things like this because hackers just love to crack it. 

 

Ubuntu is published in its entirety, but only a computer science nut would bother reading it.  It is quite complex simply because Torvalds takes a straight-forward approach to the kernel and everything else sort of follows suit.  Of course the source is also the work of thousands of programmers over the web which results in so many points of view that it makes working with it very difficult.  Even so, I get updates at least weekly for it, and sometimes daily if there is some real problem found.  (Got a new version of wine today, for example.  In this case if was a progressive update.)

 

If you really want to see a current view of a secure system take a look at SELINUX.  For an individual, the game is not worth the candle, but for a large outfit with several levels of security (governments) it is probably close to Multics R12 in security.  Only the associative hardware necessary for a full Multics-like installation is missing.  I think the overhead would be drastic unless you had at least four cores.

Lol, it's not even that bad, I've had worse, and also seen worse It's pretty clean really compared to my relatively clean one [What I consider clean anyway] which has double the number of icons and folders. Might just be because I often hook my laptop up to a 20" monitor everytime I use it at home

As far as general clutter on desktops go, if you look at my last submission, the little red button in about the middle of the top panel is the Ubuntu general menu.  If I don't feel like fighting with the dash (hidden on the left), I use it to start any program in the system.

It started very randomly, Mr Moose. One day just like the another day, suddenly my Avast deleted explorer.exe since it got "virus" and deleted it. So, I use independent explorer program. I can't re-install the Windows since my DVD-ROM is broken

Are you sure it was deleted and not just quarantined?  I've heard other strange tales about "Avast".

Yes it is sir. I do believe that I set my Avast option to delete all kind of threats, including explorer.exe. And, yes, it is my weirdest mistake

oh ya, and it's an interface I'm calling VRIFS, based on the old tdfsb code which hasn't been updated or changed since 2006, first addition is the ability to open a program with it by file with updated run command.

Obsolete.  What's on your desktop now?  And if your icons are crowded, why is that?  I only use the desktop for conveniences.  I have a menu for apps.
