PvM's Pacific Place is one of the most outstanding BAT's ever released no doubt, yet I can see something like this giving it a decent run for it's money, and I don't through throw (21.gif) the term 'BAT of the Year' around lightly either. It’s good to have bit of competition, I mean nothing else from ’09 springs to mind that could have a decent chance against Pacific Place bar this.

Amthaak, time to export I think.

I think this building as its chance against Pacific Place, the textures are also awesome, and more detailed and richer! Good luck on your Miami projects!

Well, there is a solution: Pacific Place is such a long-running monster project that it could actually constitute an ad-hoc Trixie category of its own. After all, projects like these (Petronas Twin Towers, WTC Complex, Burj Dubai...) are only finished once in a few years - if they get finished at all.

The building looks great ingame--really kills the neighbor to the right--and the window reflections are as good as it gets. Only problem I see is that the paving needs to be extended--those glass bay windows touching the grass don't look realistic.

Oh, i didn't consider reflections from other buildings....still prefer "my" version (thank you for having done it!)

Wheter or not you will get a trixie, i believe you fully deserve some kind of awards 4.gif.You've began with an huge project and managed to make it on a really high standard, and this is a remarkable step over your first one.Well, it's unbelievable how much were you able to learn in just few months of BATing.

I agree. 19.gif Not to mention the persistence and endurance to make this one perfect instead of just releasing something half-baked, like so many new BATters do. "I know it could be a lot better, but I wanted to release it" - how I hate that sentence! 11.gif

So much to study and admire here: even the shrubs in the planters on the terraces above the entrance portico are excellent--so open and realistic. Chapeau!

Magnificent BAT. The shrubs are really nice, albeit maybe a tad too greyish?

Another aspect you might want to consider is those signs on the lot - I see SimGoober's Hooters and Perkins signs. These will force ppl to d/l the corresponding restaurants created by SG, which is not really a smart dependency policy.

As always, I recommend lotting with an empty plugins folder - only add those dependencies that you absolutely want to use. If you must have some signs, there are some generic ones among the Maxis props. This will eliminate 2-3 "exotic" dependencies and hardly affect the look.

EDIT

Come to think of it, where did you take those driveway textures from? Remember: in contrast to props, texture dependencies aren't listed in the LD file, so you need to track where those textures came from. That's easy if you start with an empty plugins folder, possibly come to a point where default textures don't offer a solution, add a texture pack and see which textures have been added to the texture list within the LE. Otherwise, you'd have to run a dependency scanner over the lot file.

In this particular case, however, I'm not sure if you really need custom textures for the driveway at all. 2.gif

I'm still working on night export, so I didn't concentrate so much about the lotting. But, I will...2.gif

Gottago: Merci, You are always welcome!

Kingdiz_55: Well , Amthaak is the name of the God of Utopia (Theuz Amthaak is the complete name). It was created by Christian Vander (drummer) who has created in the end of the 60's a band called Magma. fantastic Band...!

T Wrecks: YOU ARE ABSOLUTLY RIGHT! (the shrubs are a tad too greyish, or maybe the palms are too green, question of point of view), but you know, the guy in charge of watering the shrubs is very lazy and doesn't make his job properly. Be sure that, I'll ask Piotr Delpi (Mayor of Delpi World) to fire the guy...!

Seriously, that is due to the passage from max9 to max2008... I swear, it will not happen again (let shrubs dry it's criminal...!).

About the props...Master, can I keep the props I like, and people are free to re-lot if they don't like/have the props! Please...!

Texture: I am afraid that for the driveway, I'll use this one which is the narowest I find. For the dependencies list , I usually check with Reader, and put the links in the description. But more and more, I take care to not "multiplied" the dependencies.

BTW, how can I identified (rapidly I mean) the default Maxis Props in the LE?

Amthaak, I think you need to fix that paving under the pool. Unless it's meant to go so close to the grass. Anyway, I wan't it.

Well, about identifying props: That's indeed a problem, because there actually is no way to be certain. You cannot start with - let's say - 6 prop packs plus the Maxis props and be sure which prop is from which pack, or Maxis default. Many custom content creators add a prefix ("jes_" for jestarr, "SG" for SimGoober, "GC" for gascooker), but sometimes they miss a few props. Other might not apply such a naming scheme at all.

You can, however, go the other way and start without any custom props. Then, when you add one pack, you will see which props are new and which ones were there before. After a while, you'll get experience and develop a feeling for it.

Unfortunately, that's often the only possibility you have because the LE is a very limited tool...

Oh, and no need to become sarcastic. It should be obvious that you can do whatever you please with your stuff, but if you show it here, you are obviously going to get feedback and suggestions. If some of these suggestions are not to your liking, that's ok.
