It's a prank, it says I'm going to host it. I was going to have a heart-attack, lol.

From your IP address

I don't know if it's entirely from the IP address. After all, we all had to register with our email address.

Well, at first I thought "Wow, we're having a Simtropolis Convention, great!" (I didn't notice my avatar at first). But then I saw the Queen's Lyre of Ur along with my email and address* and thought that they were looking for volunteers to hold local micro-conventions, when it dawned on me, "Oh, it's April fools".

Then I saw in the latest replies the thread I Don't Think So, assumed it was a response to the convention banner and went there for more information.

This was pure genious. I think Dirk should be nominated Webmaster of the Universe for this one44.gif

Not too sure about the specifics, but when I logged onto ST on my phone (nothing better to do 3.gif) and I looked at the news at the bottom, it said I live in Oslo, Oslo, Norway!!! That's what, 14 000kms, 16 000kms? I live in cape town, south africa, so I couldn't be farther away. Will someone help me out with the exact measurements? *coughDukecough*

I did a distance check on the coordinates of the two cities, I got 6,505 miles(10,467 km) from a "straight" line method of mesurement(a line between City A and City B).

If you were travelling at 500mph(804.6km/h), from one city to the other, it would take you a bit over 13 hours to reach your destination, that's ignoring borders, weather, landing, takeoff, refeuling, etc.

The idea has been thrown around before, jokingly.

Remember my cousin's "Simtropolis Roadtrip" thread from 2004?
