OH MY GAWD!~!~! Tha Madden Curse is alive and well as Troy Palamalu goes down before the end of the second quarter with what has been innitially diagnosed as a mcl sprain that will keep him out 3-6 weeks, but that coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged, could be much more severe, pending further tests.

I'll pray for Larry, the co-star of the Madden cover, but it isn't looking good for him.

I thought the game was on the NFL network last night since last year all Thurs games [Minus Thanksgiving day of course] were on the NFL Network, so I missed the game.  Oh well, I got to see all the highlights on ESPN this morning so no real loss there.  Sad news about Palomalu though, that's gotta be tough.

It sure is nice to start out the season 1-0 though like the four of us who made our picks have9.gif  Off to a positive start.

As of now, we are all %100 infinitely correct on our picks that have been played out. Man we are good! lol.

I wonder if Richard Seymore will report to the Raiders?  Strike that, Seymore just announce he is excited to join the Raiders.

Additionally, I am going to another Texas Tech game today 4.gif Sadly, they are not the real deal this year. Superb defense, excellent offensive line, but a lack of play makers at the play making positions.

Well, the Raiders probably have a better roster at the moment but they are still declining, and the lions are at rock bottom so the only way to go is up haha.

Yea, no real upsets this weekend, which is rather suprising, although you could argue that the Bengals Broncos game falls under that category. The Cowboys had some innitial struggles against an extremely motivated Tampa Bay team, but once the second half rolled around the more talented team began to dominate. I think Tony Romo and the Cowboys answered any questions about the offense's ability to compensate for the loss of Terrel Owens. However, I think new questions will be raised about the defense's competence. The entire day the Bucs moved the ball at will against the Cowboys defense, especially on the ground. I think the bulk of the blameshould fall on the shoulders of our defensive ends and outside linebackers for failing to control the line of scrimage. Additionally, the pass rush was nonexistant. I think part of this can be keyed in on Demarcus Ware suffering what looked like a mild concussion on the opening drive for the Bucs which clearly affected his play for the rest of the day. And in all fairness, I think the Bucs have an excellent offensive line.

Houston over Jets is my only botched pick so far. Let me tell you right now after watching that game, the Texans are total frauds. Unless they radically change next game, this is the look of a team that will be picking high in the NFL draft. The offense looked extremely bad. Matt Schaub did not go to Andre Johnson nearly enough, and the offensive line got dominated which led to a nonexsistant rush attack. This was a team that was supposed to use a superb offense to carry a mediocre defense, but as of right now, that does not look to be the case.

I think the boys defence got better in the 2nd half, especialy when  TB was trying to catch up, Leftwich was getiing hammered almost every play,no sacks but i think that pounding realy got to him.

Yes, what can we say right?3.gif  The best game yesterday was da Bears and the Pack last night.  Talk about a defensive game, it as the second best defensive game of the week so far IMO behind the Pitt/Tenn game on Thursday.  Both defenses were in the QB's faces all night and I'm sure Cutlers reception in Chicago today is not favorable given the 4 interceptions he tossed.  The only downside to the game was the terrible and shoddy officiating by the refs.  An illegal contact late in the game that was actually an illegal formation, a hold that wasn't and a blatant face mask that was never called.  All the officials on the field in last nights game should have their eyes checked or get their pink slips today.19.gif

heh heh Chargers and the Patriots mount late comebacks to preserve my picks for this week. 15-1 rawr! I think the main reason behind this was, like I said earlier, there were no real upsets.

I think Arizona losing to SF was an upset, at least that's what ESPN was saying. Also, if the refs hadn't blown that call at just before the half last night in Oakland and taken away a clear TD, the Raider/Charger game may have had a different outcome. The refs in the Patriot/Bills game made a bogus call as well with the first roughing the passer call. I'm telling ya, these refs are getting worse and worse every year and the NFL needs to fix this problem yesterday.

As for the two Monday night games last night, I was more impressed with the Bills and Raiders than I was with the Patriots and Chargers. The Patriots don't look all that tough this year and the Chargers look like they're going to under-achieve again this year. I was literally shocked at Oakland's defense last night, it hasn't been that good in nearly a decade and reminded me a lot of the smash-mouth Raiders of the 70's. Anyways, both were very enterataining games last night and a great way to end the first week of the 2009 season. This is shaping up to be one hell of a season.

I dont know why i picked the Cardinals last week. Their the cardinals for gods sake.

    one good season per decade.

They realy do need to stop the 2 MNF openers.

1AM is no time to end a game.

Well, its not hard to go 14-2 when you've got matchups like new orleans vs. detroit going on.

The patriots comeback was phenomonal. One of the funnest comebacks i've watched, reminded me somewhat of the extremely underrated 50 second full field drive [with all check down passes for 10 yards, i'd like to add] drive Matt Cassel pulled off to comeback from down 24 to the Jets last year, which was capped off with a miracle strike from 25 yards out to Randy as time expired. Of course, after pinning the Jets to 3rd and 24th in overtime, the patriots let up a first down, lost the game, and that game turned their season for the worst. Now I'm ranting. But Tom looked like crap in the first half, and godly in the second half. Does it really take that short of a time for someone to get back in their groove? 26 of 31 passes in the second half. Thats incredible.

That was about the same deal for Tony Romo. He couldn't do anything right in the first half, but the second half he reverted to beast mode Romo dodging defenders left and right while throwing deep passes perfectly on target down field for huge gains 4.gif  For further description and analysis on Romo's greatness, check this article out:
