That Packer defense looks mighty good so far.19.gif  First and second stringers on defense held the Bills to 0 points, caused 5 turnovers and scored 17 pts off those turnovers. Buffalo scored 21 points in the second half off the 3rd & 4th stringers, but Sutton ran for another 44 yrds in the 4th quarter and scored a TD to get at least 7 of those points back.

Offense clicked like a well oiled machine and Rodgers looks a lot more confident and poised19.gif in the pocket, he's not easily rattled that's for sure.20.gif  This offense is going to score a lot of points this year.  The defense looks much, much improved over last year and I don't think there will be a ton of 4th quarter meltdowns by the defense like last year.

Dress rehersal games this week. Starters may play a a whole 1/2.

Fantasy drafts this week as well.

The score board issues should be resolved by the opening Home game VS the Giants.

either by rules changes or raising it up 10-20 feet.( or installing raising and lowering mechanisms, why they didnt put them in to begin with is unknow to me )

Oooooh boy did that starting Packer defense crush Arizona's offense last night, racking up 38 points in the first half on the NFC champs. Too bad they didn't leave them in for the whole game as the second stringers sucked rotten eggs last night and just barely held on to win the game 44-37. All I have to say is the rest of the league better watch out, the Pack is for real this year barring any serious injuries. Oh and the offense ain't to shabby either, scoring every time they had the ball. No doubt in my mind what-so-ever that they're going all the way this year.

    Thanks 4.gif

Sadly I am required to live on campus my first year, but i will survive. Food is so expensive here, as is everything else.

I would caution you on the Chicago defense. It is living off of a reputation it gained in its Super Bowl run. Last year the defense was really bad, and not much has changed to the unit this year.

    Just had that arguement haha.

In 11 games, Schaub threw for 3000 yards and had comparable or better yards/TDs than most qb's who played 16 games. If he had played all 16 games, Schaub would have thrown for about 4000 yards and 20 TD's. Also he finished 7th in QB rating, ahead of Romo, Cassel, Mcnabb, Eli Manning, Ryan, Cutler, and Rothlisberger.

Also Tom Brady's shoulder appears to be Ok after that hit friday. He probably won't play the final preseason game though. He looked great versus the skins. Tedy Bruschi is retiring after 13 years. Great LB.

My my my did Favre play dirty pool last night with that chop block.  I don't think he realizes he just opened the floodgates for defenses to do a little head-hunting on Favre and I hope someone breaks every bone in his body and makes sure he never ever plays again.  He deserves no less than that for his blatant disregard for the rules and purposely trying to end a players career.  It's hunting season an the prey is Favre.  He better have his medical insurance paid up, he's gonna need it.  I have lost all respect for Favre and if the Vikings organization has any decency, they'll drop Favre like a bad habit.

Sorry, not happening.20.gif  They'll have to get by Green Bay first and I don't think Minnesota has what it takes to get past that Packer defense.  Packers are going all the way and winning it all, no doubt what-so-ever in my mind about that.9.gif

Last time I checked, the Purple People Eaters went to the SB 4 times and came away empty handed.3.gif

I can guarantee you that the new Packer defense will do more than stop the vaulted Vikings offense, they'll crush them.29.gif

But like all fans, we can talk smack all day and it doesn't mean anything,20.gif so I look forward to when the the Vikings have to play the Pack and settle things on field.

Oh, one other fact Viking fans have suddenly forgotten about....what's Brett's record in the dome again?2.gif

ummm blade2k5, sour grapes much? Farve wasn't even looking at the guy when he made that hit. He just threw himself at him and hoped he didn't hurt himself. It was a "clean" dirty play, no different than an accidental facemask. Why would Brett Farve want to hurt someone in preseason football, someone who he has played against twice or three times in his whole career.

Im willing to bet that is farves first time lining up as a wideout since he was a kid. He's never been taught how to block properly.

Anyways, today my high school team beat the state champions 28-14! had two tackles and a forced fumble 9.gif

My big news of the day: I got a free chocolate ice cream which i started to eat and promptly splattered all over my favorite pair of shorts...lol.

Cowboys drafted 12 players this year. Down to 6 healthy ones. At least the injury bug has mainly been pestering less significant contributors to the team.

Umm krypto, do you watch games with your eyes closed?  He was clearly looking at the player he hit, how else do you think he knew where to throw his body?  He knew exactly what he was doing.  And please, don't pretend to know how Brett was taught to play football as you were obviously not there when he was.

And congrats on your HS football game win, sounds like you had a lot of fun.44.gif

Starting 40 year old QB with a history of shoulder injuries throws his throwing shoulder into a DB who he has no history with during a preseason game with bad intentions? Thats about absurd as a hall of fame quarterback unretiring twice to go play for a division rival of the team he spent nearly his whole career with.....wait...3.gif

Anyways, watching the clip, I thought i'd play CSI Minnesota. A few things i noticed about the block: Farve dropped his head before the block. Usually dropping your head means a) you want to be paralyzed b) you don't know what your doing or c) your trying way to hard for the pancake. Another thing, Farve had to go back downfield to make the block, usually you would play through your upfield shoulder, so that makes me think that wilson was about to beat farve and farve panicked. However, Wilson was still shuffling parallel to the backfield so i don't think he was trying to shed farves block yet....Farve seemed to hit him right in the hips, which is where you usually would want to deliver the initial hit, but then instead of thrusting upwards and driving he just kind of fell down onto the knees....

So my main guess, considering the situation, is that farve is just an idiot and doesn't know how to block well. But seriously, i've only seen a quarterback block one other time [interestingly enough, Tom Brady also went low3.gif]. They definetely don't practice it in the NFL, its way to easy to hurt your shoulder trying to block someone.

Anyways, thanks for the congrats, it was fun 9.gif
