Oh wow. Good thing I didn't miss this. I've been lurking around waiting for a development update, and you didn't disappoint!

Coming from the suburbs myself, I know exactly what you are trying to build and accomplish with some of your stuff. Like the manmade ponds....I bet they have fountains with a silly name relating to nature.... lol.

I'd like to see what you'll do with the Convention Center in downtown, but I won't get ahead of you and hopefully just enjoy some real(istic?) suburbs for now.

Benedict - Yup, forgot to turn on the simulation when I took pics. Good eye.

wwetom1 - Thanks! I consider suburbs my specialty, even though they are boring.

Wakita_OK_Boy - Thanks. It's going to be a while until I work my way to OSU. Still have a long way to go.

    nate1245 - Glad you like it9.gif

lucky7 - Yeah, rotating the map does make it easier to build on and it makes it more asthetically pleasing too.

mvannata - You live in Pickerington? Do you have any pics of your recreation? I'd like to see it.

    gio10469 - Thanks!

SC4BOY - Free time is few and far between, I do what I can3.gif

Raysfan16 - Glad that you've been following this project. I bet you're right about the naming convention. I drove my there yesterday but didn't think about looking to see what the name of the subdivision is lol. About the convention center, I really don't know what I will do with that. It will definitely be a pita.

WindsorGotha - Always glad to see Ohio natives checking in!

Unfortunately, like I said before, I just haven't had much time to do a lot of work on this. I did work on the suburbs a little bit the last few days though...

Once that suburban chunk is finished, I will show some closeups.

For anyone that's interested in comparisons, here's a Google maps link to the same area: http://goo.gl/maps/KOoc

It is already looking great so far! One can truly imagine the completed area and I am sure it'll look very scenic. Don't worry about time as that is absolutely no indication for quality... 4.gif

    Take care,

It's been a very long time since I did anything with simcity but I still check out the site almost daily to see what is going on. I saw Columbus and had to look. Map looks great! I am in the Hilliard area now.

    REPLIES

Shulmanator: Yes, they sre are. Word has it they invaded a local apartment complex and started mugging old people bringing groceries into their units 6.gif

malibu_man: Thanks! Seems like there's a good number of central Ohioans on the board.

    nathanthemayor: Thanks!

    buckeyefreak: And another lol. Thanks!

    Benedict: Yep, thanks!

Updated Road Map time. As you can see, I have moved south to Old Pickerington, as well as North to Slate Ridge Blvd (north of the highway) and west to Blacklick Estates, my home neighborhood.

malibu_man: Thanks! It's come even further. I have Reynoldsburg's roads all laid out.

kakado_to_save: Interesting connection there lol. Thanks

Benedict: Yep. It's coming along nice and slowly lol.

Here ya go. Maybe the greatest interchange ever made for SC4 :???:

Bonus points to whoever can figure out which interchange this is.

That was quick lol. Yep it's up near Worthington. I actually work not too far from there, up on Campus View Blvd.

This is quite impressive, I love recreations! You must have a lot of patience. I can't wait to see how things develop.

NMUSpidey - Thanks! Yeah, it WAS some good progress. Unfortunately I got a virus and had to revert to a previous backup and lost pretty much all of my Worthington area.

tonyr - We,, at least as interesting as a suburb can be lol. Thanks for viewing.

zcg4755 - Yeah, I also love recreations. They aren't done nearly enough as they should either.

    x493x - Thanks!

Benedict - Thanks! Yes, that interchange was quite the challenge, but it's fun when you can recreate something challenging and have it be almost exactly the same as the real life counterpart.

I've been busy lately with school and work. Worked 52 hours last week and decided I'm going to take a few days off lol. So I decided to get back to this and take on an interchange that has been challenging me for years. Turns out that I got it done in under two hours. This is the I-270/I-670/US-62 interchange near Gahanna.

    interchange2.jpg

Link to the aerial of the real interchange: http://goo.gl/maps/M8aB

I only had to leave out one of the ramps.
