Are you gonna make real skyscrapers from Columbus? I want to download them if you are. Also, I tried to make Columbus once but it failed. Make sure you leave room for the proposed light rail in the future. I hope we get it. Anyways, looks great!

cavscrew1 - I doubt that I will be batting. I only have gmax and as we all know, it doesn't handle large buildings very well unless you have a top of the line computer. I have hopes for the light rail project, but I have a feeling that it won't pass. They have failed in getting any mass transit passed for 20+ years now.

Benedict - Thanks. Yeah, I am trying to keep this looking as real as possible yet still conforming with SimCity4's physics.

naftixe - Thank you, I have actually found a trick for the Scioto Riverfront, it will be shown in a future update.

NMUSpidey - Pictures will come soon enough48.gif

jacqulina - Thanks for the compliment.

Update - This has been a very hectic time with college and all. Obviously I had to put this project on the backburner for a while. It's the end of the semester and I have a week break, so I will try to get some more work done then. Meanwhile, here is a sample map showing the Bexley-Doney's map, compared to the real map. I have finished off the transportation system for the Middle Class area of Bexley, Petzinger and Berwick. I have also decided to redo the Downtown tile (AGAIN!!). I am using a new uniformed scale that I will apply to all the tiles instead of winging it.

I'm glad this CJ is back! I thought you gave up. I live an hour from Columbus and this directly portrays the East side. Looking forward for more pictures as well!

Benedict - Thanks, took a while to get them to match up.

cavscrew1 - Nope, I will never give up on recreating Columbus. Not until I die3.gif

Joetropian1 - Yeah, I was surprised too to see so many Ohioans on here. Was expecting people to look at this CJ and say what? lol since many members rather like to see better known cities like LA and NYC.

    ComputerGuy890100 - Yep! Thanks!

edmonton_stinks - I can't wait to start building. Great thing about building your hometown is that you know the special things and the history about every area in the city and you can't wait to do every neighborhood.

The transit map really matches up to the satellite picture. I'm always impressed when people attempt real city re-creations. Keep up the good work!

selles - I know, it does. It looks a lot better than what I thought it would look like. Thanks

    jacquilina - Thanks!

Another map, this time showing the progress of the downtown area, including the I-70/I-71 split. Looks good on the map, but I think it's hideous up close. But it's about the best it's going to get. Maybe some landscaping will make it look better in the future. Sorry, still no in-game shots.  I know you all are getting mad lol18.gif Driving Park and Bid-A-Wee Park is the first on my list to be built.

I can clearly recognize I-70 and it looks so real. The split definitely looks good on the satellite. For The Children's Hospital building, you may want to use this: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=12079

I know its a college, but I think it looks exactly like childrens with that blue thing on the right side. I can't wait to see more!

You may want to leave room for street cars or light rail in the future!

I live in Marysville, about 45 minutes from Columbus! I love that you are recreating the city like that. I tried, and failed, Columbus is listed as the Second Hardest City to recreate in my book, behind the City of San Francisco.

Can't wait till you continue, in fact I'm installing SC4 Deluxe edition, since my other computer got fried (Too many downloads 3.gif)

Unfortunately with the odd angle I am building on, the streetcar lines may not be included.
