Question, how come you're not using one way roads? Why use roads?

I don't understand your question. I am using one way roads. If you meant that I'm not using the RHW, that's because the classic NAM roads are much more flexible, even if it's a little less "aesthetically pleasing".

Hmm, so did you all think I forgot about this? Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. So maybe I haven't been building in the game recently, but I have been working on my 8-bit reference map.

So how are you getting your roads so accurate. Do you have another screen beside you with Google Earth or something and measure out each distance, or is it random...how do you do it?

This is just, I can't find any words for it!

This must be the most accurate sc4 rebuild I've seen.

    Keep going!

I stitch a bunch of Google Maps screenshots together, resize to +-70%, and trace the roads in MS paint. I then run SC4 in windowed mode, and use the 8-bit map as a reference for the lengths and position of the roads.

You can also make your roads very accurate with NAM when you have the slight diagonal pieces. I use it a lot too.

Just read through this CJ. Very cool and those suburban areas look great! Never tried a recreation to this extent. Nice job!

Zulu2065 - I know, I just like my way better :whatevs:

nathanthemayor - Thanks. In-game shots will be coming soon.

    Benedict - Thanks!

sloppy 192 - Thanks, I am loving how the suburban networks are looking. I'm hoping I get nominated for a Trixie for them.

SmartbyLaw - Lincoln Villige/Westland.....it's coming sometime soon, although it's not on my high priorities list. I'm still working on Dublin, moving across the north through Worthington and Westerville. The west side will probably be the last area I'll lay out.

No no your good, I love the way you build it all. Maybe I can help with the diagonal for neighborhoods? I am beginning to BAT 2x2 houses and could BAT diagonal 2x2 lots to make suburb building easier. can't wait to see more.

Nice job, loving it so far. I used to live along Stelzer and Agler, so I know the area well. :)

I challenge you to do Easton ;)

I claim to practice architecture, but in reality architecture practices me.
