Are you going to use the maxis soccer stadium as Crew Stadium or are you going to download a stadium?

I will definitely use a custom stadium, I don't like using the Maxis stuff.

I think the maxis stadium looks the most like Crew stadium more than the ones I've seen on here.

Oh, well maybe it does. I don't drive up there enough to really remember what the stadium looks like 3.gif

Hey everyone, I have started up a new blog here at ST which will keep track of my project. I will still make posts here with finished areas, but you can see my WIP stuff here:

Can't wait for some screen-shots. I tried making Columbus once. I failed.

Are you going to build out to Marysville? I hope so, I think that Marysville's unique highway is going to be difficult to replicate.

I doubt Marysville will be included. I will probably only get as far north as Africa. I could always build Marysville separately though, as I thought about doing Lancaster that way.

Ah sweet. I tried doing Marysville without any custom objects. It failed, could'nt even get the streets right. I'm going to try and recreate it again. The commute times ended up failing same with the 4/31 and 33 Split. Gosh that thing is hard. But hey Africa is only about 5 miles south of Marysville (Further away just saying south not east). The M-Ville is really hard to recreate especially Mill Valley. But if you need help with the conversions on how many squares are needed. I can do that.

    Here's the formula:

    1.25 * X * 50 = X divided by 16.

That formula is a life-saver when making cities. that's how I tried to make Marysville

Considering that Marysville is a self dependant area with no surrounding munincipalities, then there is definitely room for some leeway. If you need help with your version I can help if needed.

Sweet. Is there a formula that you use to determine how many squares a road is?

    Honestly, not really lol.

I have determined that the grid in Downtown should be about 4x4, but I make it 5x5 for some leeway when if comes to incorrect angles and such. It's always wise to make the grid a little bigger than it needs to be.

Hope that you continue. I'll keep following it. I'm starting a Marysville city Journal starting from about 1997, where satellite pictures were available to now.

No, that's where I'm going to start from. I'm going to use the countys parcel map and work my way up from there to present.

I'll make a CJ when I get time.

     Hey, hows everyone doing?

Just wanted to update everyone of things. First off this project isn't dead. I have had some new ideas recently that I plan on implementing, once I get some time to work on the region. Hopefully during the break between quarters I will get a little work done.

I am about two weeks from finishing my first year of my degree. Things are doing good, I currently have a 3.6 GPA, which will hopefully go up as I pass by the classes I don't like like Composition and Physics 46.gif

I have been drawing out some plans on paper for which I call "Progressive stair stepping" Even with the techniques I displayed in my blog, I still have problems getting a stretch of road long enough to build on. My new concoction would be to build the entire city on a slight angle.

For example, I was stairstepping Broad Street to the northeast every 6 road tiles. With my new idea, I would be stairstepping Broad Street to the northeast every 12 tiles, and stairstepping Main Street & Livingston Avenue to the Southeast every 12 tiles. It's hard to explain, but I'm basically just setting the entire city on a tilted angle to ease building and development. That means that now most of the streets will be on an angle, but they will be angles that will be workable. Horizontal and vertical roads will all be at an angle.

Hope to have some updates within the month.
