I like the picture of the space probe, and what will the new planet/moon be named? Obi looks good, but I hope I won't have to drive though that area with all the deer on the roads. Alos, did you get the name for the town from Star Wars?

No Leech, the name of Obi doesn't come from Star Wars, it derives from the word Hobby, when I had the idea to name the town like this, but then I changed it to Obi, it sounded more like...well...Nexian.... to me.21.gif.

For the reddish Moon, they named it Smoth.1.gif

texanpride786,geez...where have you been to have missed this CJ????47.gif

screamomatic, well, If I could I would show you some Dragons and other monster and strangelike creatures, but they're not available in SC4.....34.gif

I was wondering: I have almost reached 500 Nexis Custom lots in my Folder, only about a 150 or so available on the STEX. Should I upload some more? and which ones?
They all can be seen somewhere here in the CJ, many yet to come(about 40) and some new BATs coming up soon.
I sent many lots and BATs to some of you by e-mail, but maybe others would like them too and I should upload some specific ones.
In a few days, the Nexis Gentleman's Club from Gloryville will be uploaded to the STEx and then a ****set, after it's been seen here in the CJ, plus the Mega Sawmill from Moose Bone, plus a ****** Park, once it's been shown, and the Imagefon HQ is being tweaked too....and so on.46.gif

evilfish, welcome to the CJ and if you read the story from the beginning, you'll find that the name ain't that weird....34.gif
rewright,hm....that is something to think about.

    Update.....1.gif

New Sholes, we haven't been there for sometime, so let's have a look what is happening there these days. Today most of the schools and colleges etc are closed for the summertime, meaning, all the new celebs are about to do something else than starring at the books and listen to that old song from the Profs.
So, let's have a small look at them and see what plans they're into.

Daniel Henderson and Nick Ranly work for Jim's construction, while Horatio Utora helps his father out in the Baker shop. Bucky Garfield has no plans and only hangs around here and there, so is Julius Nicomedia and Lane Wallace. Thom Yorke has gone to work for his aunt's Restaurant in Tripellong and Jasen McLary got himself a job in a Mechanic's Garage in Tenzel Outlet for the summer, just what he loves. Octavius we all know, he left to another region to work for the summer. Shane Boxx will continue to work cleaning the offices and Poke Pika gets to work with his father in Atlas. Now both Noori Lecuyer and Chad Benson have signed up for a summerjob back on Uru, packing valuable artifacts and prepare them for the LBST voyage to Genesis. Noori loves doing this and Chad is in there for the good pay! Clay Wallace is about to start his grand voyage through the Wild Country with his friend and Allan Sapporo has a neat little job in a local Bar, playing his classical guitarr with a small group.
Seth Braun, well, for the moment he disappeared and I can't find him and Jasen Jowell  bought a little Restaurant out in the west in Cross Canyon.
Timotheus is still working in the Printer's Shop and he received an official invitation for the Convention that the Sirius Group will have later this summer and discuss his plans of the new airport in White Sands. Maybe he will meet the Big Man, Mr Alfo Lavender, the famous CEO of the Sirius Group.

That's it for the younger folks, and the older Generation just continues with their affairs.
Now back to New Sholes and its growing City. We all know that Sholes is the Oil City of Genesis, where most of the oilfields and wells can be found. Tiel Oil is the owner, so to speak, of the City. Almost everything here is owned by them. The Downtown as we see it below, is all packed up in a bundle, while the residences are scattered all over the surroundings, even on the river islands.

    1NewSholesDowntown.jpg

Tiel Oil is hiring directly and indirectly more than 15,000 people all over New Sholes and Treeland, the southern neighbor. That is a lot of workers to take care of. Here on the picture below, is one of their Main Offices, right in the middle of Downtown, while the HQ is in Axis City.

    2NewSholesDowntownClose.jpg

One thing the City can be proud of the Garbage disposal system that works 24 hrs/day and it is considered one of the cleanest and best organized towns of them all. The garbage is transported by train daily to Stone Valley.

    3NewSholes-Garbage.jpg

This is Tiel Oil Company, it takes almost more space than the City itself and is almost considered as a city on its own.

    4NewSholesIndustView.jpg

Here's a close up on one of those Mega Oiltanks. Just imagine, if there would be a leak or an explosion....? Kinda scares me only to think about it.

    5NewSholes-OilTanks.jpg

New Sholes is also the home of Lane Wallace, not related to Clay Wallace, the Ganoga Kid. Lane had an exposition of his rock collection in the Gloryville University lately and now just hangs around here in New Sholes trying to find a summer job. He lives with his parents in this house, right in front of the Tiel Oil Office block.

    6NewSholesLaneHome.jpg

Cypress Ridge, the farthest western township of Genesis and where the Highway 2 connection to the neighboring region was made years ago, has found a new resident, well, as a matter of fact, the first one. Sam, the youngest son of Jim, has bought himself some acres with money that he saved and started a Roadhouse, where travelers can have a drink and eat something on their long journey to the western region. He wanted to start on his own, contrary to what his father wanted, small and alone.

    7Cypress-Ridge-View.jpg

Now waiting for a permit to also sell gazoline here, Sam's Roadhouse didn't take long to get known and he has some customers every day now, only in the third week of existance. His wife helps him out of course. Both of them are in the twenties now and he would like to have a family of his own now.

    8Cypress-Ridge-Roadhouse.jpg

And to finish this update, let's have a short stop in Bass Bay and look at its farms.

    9Bass-BayFarm.jpg

This is strange though, actually two things are strange here. First in the middle of nowhere and there are Condos and then there seems to be a Cactus Farm (?).What could these be grown for? Any ideas?

    10Bass-BayCactus.jpg

To add a last picture, here is a transportation map of the region, something that we haven't seen for awhile.

    11RegionTrafficmap.JPG

I don't know yet, if I will be back this weekend, depending all on my wife and the temperature outside,21.gif but I'll try. The Next time we'll have a look at Thunderlake and the beginning of the Ganoga adventure with the Ganoga Kid Clay Wallace. We also talk about Jadis Nexis , the new CEO of the Nexis Corporation and talk about his plans for the one hundred years of the Nexis Corporation Existance and at the same time the festival that is planned to honour 100 years of Genesis Immigrations. I also might throw in a picture or two of Nexis City.

Have a nice weekend now and send some comments of what you would like to see next.2.gif And please, all of you lurkers, come and say hello once.....47.gif

Sorry I haven't responded in a while, Mr. Bison. I have been busy with real life issues and other projects..... I have been enjoying the story each time I have read the updates. You really should consider publishing a novel of this CJ. In fact you might have to make several novels just hold the content of this CJ. I have been getting some ideas to use in my cities from your CJ here. I just need to find the right places to implement the ideas. I haven't heard about my two daughters, Chloe and Cameron, in a while. What are they up to these days? And what am I doing as well? I forget if I'm retired....must be getting old18.gif

I'm so sorry, I would have commented, but I was out of town. Great couple of updates, it seems from the region pic that there are a lot of new farming towns, which is really cool!

Nice update! especially the few lines about Horatio ofcourse...9.gif
I might have some ideas about the Cactus farm, although I don't know if it also counts for Genesis...
Well, a while ago a magic kind of Cactus was found in the deserts of Southern Africa, and some scientists discovered that this magic Cactus had been used for ages by the indigenous people of that region to suppress their hunger-feeling. You just have to chew on the Cactus and you won't have appetite for hours, even days.... Now isn't that curious? The food industry now sees great possibilities to use this Cactus as a 'medicine' to lose weight. It would be revolutionary and cheap: people don't have to stick to special diets and discipline themselves not to eat too much... no, they simply chew on a Cactus and they won't have any appetite to eat for days!
I wonder if it's the same Cactus, somehow growing on Genesis....

swamper77, you don't have be sorry for not posting everytime after an update, I probably update more often than you visiting the site...lol...besides I know some of you are still around.2.gif
Leech, Cross canyon was mentioned a long time ago, when Highway 2 was under construction and connecting to the west, and we haven't been there for quite some time, check the regionmap below. Treeland is just south of New Sholes and north of Coarseville, the Mining town. Again check the last picture in this post.
Utora, that was interesting about the cactus, thanks , but I have no idea, what the cactus farm is all about in Bass Bay. Maybe I should just ask.....34.gif
    pekeboo, thanks2.gif

    Last update for this week.
We get to see the first pictures of a new area of Genesis, thanks to the Ganoga Kid, Clay Wallace.......
Clay Wallace and his friend left for the Grand Journey through the Ganoga Valley very early this morning. Masses of people curious to meet him were awaiting at the entrance gate to the Ganoga Valley in Grand Falls. Also his silent partners were there to wish him luck. Financial Fonds for the trip were given by Jim's Construction, Nexis Corporation,Imagefon Inc, Gloryville Park Association and the Hawklyn Valley Farms. Of course Clay and his friend will stay in permanent Imagefon contact with the Grand Dam Base and National Rescue Department.
On the first day the trip was done by a small boat and they have arrived at Jim's hunting cabin in the Thunderlake area by evening. Thunderlake is the Grand Falls western neighbor and the only place on Genesis where some small volcanic activity can still be experienced once in awhile. On this first picture we see the emplacement of the hunting cabin, almost at the foot of the Volcan. From here on the team will lead towards north by boat again. By tommorrow they will have reached the undiscovered country and pictures will be taken and send by Imagefon to Grand Dam's Base. We will see those pictures from time to time.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//1ThunderlakeView.jpg align=baseline>

Let's get to know the Ganoga Valley a little bit more, at least of what we know. The valley expands from the east, Grand Falls to the extreme west of Genesis through a valley that is completely kept captured inside two mountain chains (see earlier pictures). A lake, the Ganoga Lake, will follow the valley and it is considered at some places to be the deepest lake on Genesis. Also the valley has the only volcanic activity still rumbling once in awhile on the planet, which is in Thunderlake, so called because of the permanent rumbling of the ground that can be felt almost everyday. The valley of course being shut off from the rest, has its own Ecosystem, and this is what the scientists have been working on studying for the last 7 years, but so far haven't reached very much into the whole valley yet. Very forested and hard to travel in, it will be very difficult for Young Wallace and his friend to get through most of the valley, so it was decided that at one point ,they will reach the upper parts of the valley and travel some kilometers on the half of the mountainside.
This is Jim's Hunting cabin at the end of the road and just beside the volcan, where they will stay overnight. Let's wish them Luck for the next weeks to come.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//2ThunderlakeCamp.jpg align=baseline>

Now let's just pass through Nexis City again, the residential part of it at least. Like I said earlier, Nexis is now on second place in population to Gloryville and if it continues growing like this. it will pass the Capitol in size and population by the end of the decade. Already it is expanding into another township and many more immigrants have already asked for reservations of zones. By order of the City counsel and also the formner owner of all this land, Vallen Nexis, the Bay in the middle of Nexis City is considered as a National Park. Here thousands of sea turtles come and lay their eggs in the warm sands of the Bay every year. They come from the sea, traveling by the Tenzel river system up to here. The land is of course completely sealed off from the population from May to August, and even visitors are not allowed, only not to disturb the only turtle breeding grounds that Genesis has.

Good update... The Rilian Waterworks pipelins looks exceedingly good with the surrounding houses. Thumbs up on that. I liked the region shot a lot too... And the whole explosion with the tiel oil tank... I would hate that to happen at all.

Thanks for all the comments and Welcome to the CJ Quack and doggyman, glad you enjoy your stay.

I have thought of this earlier, but now that someone asked, I might as well upload the complete named regionmap today. Here are all the townships or counties (as I call them) that have been named. The ones with the X are not classified yet and fall under the governing of Gloryville's Regional Administration Office.
I had to do this in two parts, because the region is so big. I know that someone once uploaded a whole region picture  for me to another server, and I also left the url of it somewhere in the ealier pages, but with my slow connection I have no patience to go through all these pages again. If someone has it, please post it here (if it still works) One could have a look at this giant region picture and see all the details.

Now, I recommend that you copy these two regional pictures somewhere to your computer, so that you have them onhand when I am doing an update or talk about a certain town. Then you will  be able to have a look at it on these pics and know where these townships are located inside the region.
I hope that this will be pratical for you all, even I kept a copy of these on my desktop.

First, this is the eastern part of the region, mostly where the civilization has started, probably being close to the sea (upper right).

    PartOneEast.JPG

... and this is the mostly undiscovered western half of the region with the famous Ganoga Valley (upper left).
    PartTwoWest.JPG

There will be an update probably tomorrow.2.gif
