Welcome to Kitami! Kitami is a East Asian CJ based on the Island of Hokkaido due north of Japan's main island of Honshu. Kitami became a nation in 1947 after the end of World War 2. After Kitami gained independence from Japan the Nation has become a world leader in technology development rivaling that of it's neighbors Japan and Korea.

Location:

Flag:

Population: 18,150,080

Capital: Sapporo

Languages: Kitami, Japenese, Korean

Currency:  New Yen

President: Harumi Tikashi

Government: Republic

We will start our tour of Kitami at it's roots. This CJ will commence with a initial tour of the Capital, Sapporo. Note, I did recreate Sapporo, but I was merely inspired by it. As you will see in the pictures much of the city has remained the same and I tried to include important landmarks also. With that aside let us begin with our visual tour of the city.

Dating back to the early 1800s the city is almost reaching it's 200th birthday. What started as a old traditional Edo village became a massive urban complex sprawling for miles. The city's current population is 2.8 million in the metro area and steadily growing upward. We will begin our tour at the city's cultural and civic center, which is Odori Park. Spanning 1.5 kilometers Odori Park was built in 1869 and host internationally recognized events like the Sapporo Snow Festival:

Sapporo-Feb-1.jpg

At night the Area explodes with light and people. The area is well known for a great nightlife and is well known as the cultural heart of the city:

A couple blocks away from Odori is Sapporo's largest building towering 745 feet:

Next we have Sapporo's more newer skyline complete with modern Asian architecture and traditional Sapporo blocks:

Sappohhhhgggfdfsro-Jun-1.jpg

Next we have the Old Hokkaido government buildings. Built in the early 1800s on top of a reclaimed hill near downtown this monolith structure has become one of Sapporo's most recognizable landmarks. Preserved inside the structure are traditional governmental rooms along with preserved national artifacts from traditional Edo settlements found around Hokkaido:

Now we move out of the Sapporo City Center to it's extremely urban suburbs. Modern housing in Sapporo is shown below:

Sapporoburbs-Jul-1.jpg

Sapporo is a hub for rail on the island of Hokkaido and hundreds of trains leave Sapporo Central Station a day connecting the cities that are scattered about on the island. Also with the High Speed Rail, suburbanites are easily connected with the downtown central business district, Here's a view of the the High Speed Rail Trains zooming through the urban suburbs:

Some urban apartments near the rail lines:

The Sapporo Metro Connects some of these suburban areas. Here's the Metro Map:

To conclude this update here are two final pictures of outer-Sapporo and the continuing development of the area:

Oh, it's a very nice Japanese-style city! I love the usage of Mas71's walls, they look great. Also, that blue triangle building is nice. I've thought about dl'ing it myself, but the one in real life is just so hideous I couldn't bring myself to click the link. However, it actually looks better in game, so I may have to re-think my position...

Well, isn't this nice. I'd say it would have to be one of the few Japenese CJ's I like...

The colours are really realistic and same with the building placement. Great start and good luck!!

i guess its like what you'd expect with a normal japanese city as in its very crowded in buildings with alot of advertisements i reckon it could use some

subways and other things like that cause i know that they have alot of them in japan but your cj looks really kool good job

Definitely one of the coolest Asian CJs I have seen. Reminds me of when I was in the Philippines. :-] The transit map is a very cool touch. Very realistic with the mid-rises and low-rises.

Ooh, your interpretation of Hokkaido really captures the feel of Japanese cities. Aside from the HK skyscrapers and some minor suggestions I mentioned yesterday, I think Sapporo looks perfect.
