  1. there is so much i even left out, that i just cant be bothered thinking about and mentioning, lets just hope that in another 10 years, when they decide to make another simcity, they gives us what we want this time, maybe we can try to spam maxis and tell them what we want...
  2. i think im gonna try give this game what it deserves... a proper critique. i was a big fan on simcity 4, and with all the updates you could get from places like simtropolis, simcity 4 became an awesome game. and now here we all are, expecting the most amazing game in the world with the new simcity... and im also disappointed. They say that "this game is still a big hit, and really popular" but, i think they're wrong. You'd think at this day and age, with all the technology in the world, that they could make this game allow for awesome things like tunnels and making your own region and mountains and terrain, and subway systems, and roads that go over the top of other roads, and all this that you could pretty much do in simcity 4... - whats good? i love the fact that you can customize things with upgrades. I find it cool how you can decide to put a city hall and place that expansion at the back or to the left of the building, and expand parks, and all that and i think thats cool. the curvy roads are also pretty cool. finally what i also look (although it can get annoying saving up money to do all this) is how you can research things with your university, to unlock other cool ugrades to buildings. - whats bad? everything else... really... im gonna compare this simcity, to what you could do, downloading those "extras" from "simtropolis". the city tiles are small... i mean really, you only get enough room to build a small city at that, in simcity 4 you had enough room to create a city and some suburbs and put a seaport in the corner of the city and still have room for an airport, but in this, you barely have enough room for your city, and a stadium and whatever else? then i was EXTREMELY dissapointed with the graphics to say the least... i honestly thought that at this day and age the graphics could have been better? and then to make this all better, you can't do things like make beaches, make piers, and boat terminals and "sunken highways" and tunnels, and bridges. And lastly, the fact that, although you can make curvy roads, and buildings can grow on them, your left with alot of green space between buildings and instead of making a dense city, it almost looks like you have a "green" city. there is alot more, but i'd rather not...
  3. Abandonment due to commute time

lol, i know, i just said that because i have a good amount of each type of wealth of residential... just not commercial... lol, i know, i just said that because i have a good amount of each type of wealth of residential... just not commercial...
  4. Abandonment due to commute time

Don't build many educational, health, or civic facilities, and place your Sims next to industrial zones. Do what you can to encourage pollution. Don't bulldoze dilapidated or abandoned buildings. Of course if you go overboard here, your city will just plain abandon. Or burn down. thing is... i dont need R$ or R$$, i need CO$$ CS$$ and CS$ lol... but ill give the... less education thing a go...
  5. Abandonment due to commute time

any ideas on how to actually get lower wealth things to grow?
  6. Abandonment due to commute time

from those stats that i have given... infact its significantly changed so far... i have a good move of all types of residents... and way too much CO$$$ and not enough CO$$, CO$ and CS$$, im getting abandonment across the board... in all three residential types, low medium and high wealth... im going try and start my city all over again, destroy all the zones and most of the roads and try to change everything to a direct route... see how that works out for me...
  7. Abandonment due to commute time

    didn't work... keep getting abandonment
  8. Abandonment due to commute time

desirability is amazing, the correct development isnt lol
  9. Abandonment due to commute time

i have only a few colleges and 1 university... heres a screen shot of my city stats...
  10. Abandonment due to commute time

ok... i found out, that i actually have an abundance in CO$$$ and i have extremely low everything else, and its wierd, because i have alot of R$$ residents, infact more than half my residents are R$$ somehow... and no CO$$ or CS$$ jobs... so how do i try and get more CO$$ or CS$$ jobs?
  11. Can't find it?... Ask here!

i need that lot, that allows you to demolish buildings that dissapear
  12. Abandonment due to commute time

so, lets say, i have not enough jobs for my high wealth sims, what am i trying to zone so that there is? what annoys me about the game, is you can't make realistic cities, as where in real life, there can be sometimes many many blocks of residential before there is an abundance of commercial with lots of lights and swervy roads... you can't really do that in this game -__-
  13. Abandonment due to commute time

it hasn't worked, i keep getting abandonment, i can show a photo now if i need too, but i am getting a fair bit...
  14. Abandonment due to commute time

ok, there are the photo's, with that transport system, i still get abandonment, its hard to see, but i do have subway in quite a few spots
  15. Abandonment due to commute time

so here im posting three photos of a city im working on, its hard to see my transportation network due to the trees but i need help identifying what's wrong? somehow my commute is long, even though i have lots of bus stops and subway networks... did i start developing too quickly? or is my system too complex and not... straight enough, should i just simply focus on a grid system and nothing else? <p>
