Hehe... fmorel90, I always do that with my UDI missions, placing the avenus overpasses underwater and driving underwater insead of using my briges to get to the other side of the river. 17.gif

    following this for awhile and I must say, keep up the very good work!
     
    I have a request, actually. I was hoping you modders could begin construction of elevated INTERSECTION and TURNING pieces for each elevated network type. it'll be interesting, and you can have underwater cities while you UDI around!

    Swimming transit, lol, I love it. Now this can open up some very interesting developments, and city layouts.
     
    Tropod, that underwater bridge you have is quite good as well. I can already see the Don't drive through High Flood Water warnings that will be popping up in people's CJ's after this one.

    lol thats a pretty cool little discovery indeed. Perhaps a new section could be made thats covered and looks more like an undwater tunnel then it would be very simple to build an underwater tunnel with out having to carefully level land and lower it again.

    Joerg: That's a great idea. What we could do is lower the one-way/road/avenue/highway to ground level and turn it into a tube and we have a tunnel! Someone needs to look into this...

    And back to the subject of above ground networks - I am proposing the possibility of developing underpasses for the various types of networks (roads, one-way roads, and/or avenues under rail; road, one-way roads, and/or avenues under ground-level highways; and/or ground-level highways under all other ground-level networks) if they haven't already been created. If one or all have been created, please direct me to the download source. Thank you very much.

    The progress you guys are making is amazing.  I can barely keep up with everything being developed in this thread.  I'm looking forward to dual networks and more interchanges, etc.  Keep up the great work guys.

    That traffic light tree is unbelieveable! That would be confusing as all hell!!!
     
    This might be a bit off topic, but is there a way that can switch the traffic lights from the right to the left of the road? It looks funny with my game.

    there are some underpasses on the STEX which are not UDIable (because theyre lots not network pieces like this) and as the description says, they are for eye candy so if you dont mind then try them out.

    In response to Tropod's underwater puzzle pieces picture, I think one of the modders should remodel the rd/ave/one way rd over blank terrain pieces with a tunnel on the top. That would be an alternative to building a bridge!!!

    Ay carumba, Chozo - that's one Christmas tree of traffic signals!
     
    I, also, have been looking for a way to change the traffic signal orientation.  I want to change the signals from vertical to horizontal orientation.  Ex:

    It's possible. Just find the animation you want to change, and change all the frames so the light has. that horizontal orientation.

    There's an animated-flag tutorial floating around somewhere, use the same methods.

    I have no intentions on altering the traffic lights.
     
    If I were you I wouldn't worry about it either, because I don't think that it is a priority for this mod.

    i think bridges have been discussed before, but its 39 pages and i don't want to read all of it. however, i made a bridge in the bat and i was wondering if it would be possible to use it for the network addon mod:

    i'll have to adjust some parts to have it align with the ingame roads and scale it down (the real one is 6 motor lanes and a pedestrian in the middle). the roads also a seperated in the beginning. i was thinking that (if it is possible) to have two one way streets connect to the bridge and span over water as one road.

    Awesome!!! Bridges use their own method of being put in the game. Basically there is a file that says make bridge length x out of pieces y z d s f d s f z y in said order, which controls the appearance of the towers, deck pieces, start/end, etc.

    Basically, anything that has an Orthogonal Network1 by Double-Diagonal Network2; the double-diagonal part is not limited; i.e. it can be triple/quadtriple etc; double is just the name used here as it's the base from which it's being done on.
     
    Any of these involving the Elevated networks, may require some batting [not sure yet-most likely, but I'll have to look into it]. I'll probably be able to use some of the games existing files for [the Textures for] one or two of these, but a number of them will most likely have to be custom made.
     
    Basically, only a single 128x128 pixel image would need to be done, along with the alpha channel image [& be done seperately].
    Anyone interested in helping out with these; either post here or PM me.

    Orthogonal vectors. As far as BATting goes, I'm working on that start end piece. I think it might be too complicated though. We'll see.

    Why would anyone want a double-diagonal road? Rail I can understand, and Onewayroad too. But road?

    Oh, and JEC/Builderman - I'm not sure if the dragging methods will allow for a bridge with two networks on it to be built. I could be wrong. If not, you could make it connect to an avenue, which then spilts like the existing bridges do.

    You could also make it a lot, since there are no intersections.

    As for specifics regarding how to properly make a Bridge; if you haven't already done so I suggest you speak/PM with TGC [The_Great_Choze]. He is well vested up on how these should be made properly so as to be able to implement them into the game properly [the Batting aspect of them].

    As for its use though; perhaps you could clarify? You want the ends of the bridge to be onewayroads, but the bridge itself to only be road? Would this be right? Basically the bridges essentially have to be the same network as the start/end tile piece that joins the bridge to the terrain.

     

     

    Just on a personal note regarding bridges in general; while I see no objection to discussing them here, I'm personally not sure of the added benifit to the mod for any additional bridges that don't add any kind of added functionality; such as the OneWayRoad bridges [already in the mod] for example. However, I'll leave this upto others to discuss over though.

     

    p.s. I forgot to mention in my previous post; Rail Puzzle Pieces will still be released; hopefully in the next main update.
