You're still the networking whiz around here, I see. Keep up the good work! Love what you've done with the place! ;D

Yay! Awesome seawalls! We don't use the CAM, it sucks!

Great job with the infrastructure. I use roads curves and roundabouts in my city, but I can never make it look that good! Do you use a demand mod?

The seawalls look nice as well as the roads through the park-looking area with all the roundabouts.

Very nice! It's a good thing weight doesn't matter in this game, or the ground would have collapsed under all those towers.

    Replies:

Goldfish4209:  Thanks!  No, I do not use the CAM.  I actually discourage all to use the CAM because, in my opinion, it is not compatible with the game's engine.  If the EXE could be modded (which is illegal), the CAM might have some use.

un1:  Thank you!  Ya I guess seawalls take a tile along the water, and due to the density along the waterfront, seawalls will be tricky to place.  Overdoing it has ups and downs, eh?

-But whatever.  Its my style anyway!  3.gif

Cidwm:  I like to construct an "anti-grid grid" system in my cities.  Not a perfect grid, but enough to still build with.  If zoning could be diagonal, there would be a lot less "griddyness" in SC4.

068664663:  Thanks a lot!  Glad you like the NAM curves!

Patricius Maximus:  Hey, thanks a lot!  Glad you like the "termini" intersection!

Psycho_Teddy:  Yes I am.  I have been come to be known as the "infrastructure overlord" in some places.  3.gif  Thanks for the comments!  9.gif

deion30296:  Thanks a lot!  Glad you share my opinion about using the CAM! 9.gif

    Jim1994:  Thank you very much!

A1N2D3R4E5W6:  Hey, thanks a lot!  Glad you like the road system!

-I use the super demand mod for commercial office only.  It creates a more realistic commercial cap relief that enables one to grow skyscrapers rather than plop them.

GreekMan:  Great!  Glad you like the way I post my images!

deion30296 (2):  lol!  There's enough "spotlight" for everyone!

dfnva:  Thanks!  Glad you like some of the developments!

Alafel:  Thanks!  I guess you're right, I would need some strong bedrock beneath!

hamish:  Thank you!  Glad you like the seawalls and the NAM curves!

    Update time!

Its time to take a ride in a time machine!  6.gif

In this update I am going to mix it up a bit and show some older photos of The Greater Terran Region.  See if you can compare some of these older pictures with some of the newer ones.

    Picture Information:

This is a rare update where my "Picture Information" caption does not apply.  Sorry, but since these are older photos, only a select few will be clickable for full resolution.  And even that will not be what you are used to.

You will see a "Click me for Full Resolution!" in the caption if you are able to do so.

Also, I am sorry for the pause sign and the side bar in the photos.  Forgive me!

    Pictures:

Let's begin with a familiar one.  As you may recall, this intersection had the largest and worst accident in the region's history.  Here it is back when volumes were increasing.

Here is a shot of the "new" RHW leaving on of Escape's districts.  It provided good connections with the region.

This was an old stretch in Downtown when the city was young.  Today it has seen major upgrades and the use of the MIS.

A part of this interchange still exists today:

Anyways, that does it for now.  I hope you enjoyed this historical tour of the region!

Nice time machine haljackey!! Good work on the older versions of the RHW. Remember: One day RHW v.0.20 will be old and everything now will be considered old.

Oooh, a historical ride through downtown. Lemme guess, the next update will show us all how you have mastered the MIS and applied them to the old interchanges.

    Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't updated in a bit, RL is really killing me these past few days.  I don't have time to respond to your comments right now or post a new update, but I do have something interesting to show you.  Consider this a teaser:

    The image

This is a signature that Alafel and I have been working on.  Its nearly done, and I wanted to see if it can get a good reaction from everyone here.

My current signature is very old and is not very colourful (or photoshopped for that matter).  It shows an outdated RHW and texture set, and this region has so much more to show besides that highway.

Anyways, updating may be scarce here and there for the next little bit (I am a HUGE Olympic fan), and just know that I am still here and this CJ is still on track.  It ain't dying!

    Best.

    -Haljackey

I like your updates. I think that the Greater Terran Region is amazing... I need to take city building lessons from you. Every city i try to build turns out getting Obliterated or I just get sick of things and reinstall the game.. . Give me tips!!!

I'd remove the red power plant in the right and replace it with something else, because it distracts from the theme of it. And I might make the text stand out more and be less blended.

    Basically it looks good.

Wow your CJ is still going strong, my friend; nearly 1000 replies! I still love that 8 lane RHW through the heart of the city. Great work!

Region files are not permitted on the STEX.

However, if he wanted to, Haljackey could upload a .SC4M file from SC4 Terraformer. No development would be on it, but the terrain would.

    But that is his decision.
