You realize that ploppable houses do not have residents, etc., that they are just eye-candy.

I should've mentioned, there are some houses that come in unique tile patterns like 5X1, for example, so it's the only thing that will grow if that's the size of zone you make (this is true of Peg Mountain houses and lodges). A good search through the stex will find stuff like this.

wow your city is awesome. you had tonnes of farms with no development to a bit of development and it looked abit like some of your farms had gone away then

you have heaps of development and it looks soo realistic except i think you expand your region into like north and south regions you should start going east and west more but it still looks fantastic. well done.

This is my first post on this board. I'm using it here because, I gotta tell ya, of all the stuff I've seen on here since I joined, this is THE MOST impressive region/CJ I've seen.

Unbelievably good work. Took some serious dedication and your commitment to detail is impeccable.

Wow, thanks for the replies...incredible you guys dug this journal up from deep in the forum pages! Thanks a lot GenXisT!!! I've never thought of my CJ as the most impressive, I'm just trying to keep improving, thanks. These are the replies that make it hard to stay away from SimCity during the school year due to heavy homework and work load. I'm honored to have received your FIRST post.

Thanks for the continued interest...this CJ IS NOT DEAD!!! Just on limited updates due to my heavy real life schedule right now.

Hey guys...I'm looking at buying a new desktop computer...super on gaming and is it possible to watch TV from my cable provider or whatever using the computer? Shoot me some suggestions...it is really hard to figure out what I NEED and what I really don't, so I can keep the cost realistic and not $2500+...

Yes, this is a shameless bump...ok not really I feel guilty about it. Just want to let you all know that I will be getting back into Sessquenna for sure in two and a half weeks...maybe sooner depending on my work load and finals, but I just have to write two 10 page papers this week and then coast toward finals...phew.

And then the hard work of trying to get Sessquenna to develop and making it look awesome. I've seen some awesome stuff around here in the journals and I'm looking forward to implementing some of those things.

    TEASER

Just to update you all.  I've been doing a ton of stuff throughout the region and I am currently rapidly attempting to fill up the land west of the main city with farms and small communities.  I will try to get an update posted today or tomorrow...at the latest Jan. 4, because then it is band tour and then school again, though I'll still be able to play a little SimCity for the first few weeks of the semester.

So probably, two or three updates before another reluctant hiatus.

And I'm wondering how that TOP 100 CJs thing works, where is mine?  Haha...seems like it is still ranking CJs that haven't been active for four years, not a very good measure of the current CJs.  Kinda like doing a Billboard 100 for music and including music from all-time...Beatles would be up there a lot, but that is a poor measure of the current...enough of these thoughts, as long as a few people check out my updates! 4.gif

Shoot me some requests on what you'd like to see...O and roadgeekery is in full-swing lately, I've made some sick interchanges for my I-260 beltway/bypass.

See you soon with an update, *fingers crossed.

I'm glad I discovered this CJ, not many cj authors are prepared to show region views to the extent that you do, and you pull it off nicely!! great cj overall..keep it up 4.gif

Sessquenna Update 18 - Western Sessquenna

Wow, it has been four months since the last update.  I haven't been able to develop a lot of stuff due to school, but in the past two weeks I've been developing the land surrounding Sessquenna, and I am happy with the results, though far from complete.  These pictures are from west of Sessquenna, north of the Sessquenna River and the International Airport.

There is so much more to show and I will try to update as often as possible before school hits full gear again.  An idea for the future is to create a region mosaic with all the highways labelled, perhaps even from satellite (directly overhead google earth) view.  I hope I accurately captured the look of the rural outskirts.

Wow! Finally an update. I know what you say about being busy with school, except for me it's the opposite end.

While there's a lot of great stuff, the JCT of I-260 and US-148 stands out. Its a very creative way of dealing with the natural features such as the creek and the hills nearby. Never quite seen an intersection like that in real life, which makes it all the more awesome.

As for the rural areas, they look great with the farms separated with shelter belts.

As I and other have said before, your regional views are always awsome. I'd love to see a full sized regional view sometime like you mentioned, I don't know if a mosaic would properly capture that, but rather if you had a link to the full high-resolution picture on Imageshack to go to or something. That's the route I'm going to use when I do that with my CJ in the near future.

Keep up the great work, hope to see some more updates.

Thanks. We'll figure out that region shot when the time comes closer to the region being fully "developed" not to mean finished but covered with either farms, forest, or city. I think I got the idea for the interchange from proposals for an exit as part of the I-94/I-894/US 45 Zoo Interchange reconstruction in Milwaukee. I built some freeway interchanges that also have so interesting ramps, it was a great period of creativity completing the IR-260 bypass...

What do you mean by opposite end with being busy with school?
