So uh yeah. Hello. My sabbatical is sort of over, but don't start to expect any regularity from now on. Anyway, replies! Nihonkaranws: You made these? Good job! They're excellent. Oceanmariner: Guess I disappointed you for a while, eh? Anarchy0029: Thanks! Penguin007: Technical difficulties. I had to reinstall windows, and now the BAT won't recognize gmax. eugh... Manubeas: Thanks! First we visit Abrogane, a nature reserve and former hunting grounds of the Grand Baron. His palace is still maintained and a popular tourist attraction. Then, we return to Alderingen, and view a bit of concrete, steel and glass. Parrunnerzijl ( the dutch ij is one letter, '-zijl' is pronounced 'zile' ) is a small city, which sprang up around the harbour. It's generally regarded as a bit of a lower class place, despite the lush surroundings. Moinse Split (pronounced Moinz-eh Split) is an older city, favored amongst local businesses and possessing a great nautical tradition, especially with small ship and yacht construction and sailing. So that's it for now. Good night!
  2. La R

Looking good! I like the trees bisecting the residential rows. I think I'll vote A.
  3. Lanner Delta

If you reply to a topic, you'll see, above the text box, a button for images. It looks like a mountain and a sun. It opens a new screen, where you can enter the url. It will then show up as an image. Other than that, awesome region.
  4. VAILLANTE METROPOLE

You have an excellent grasp of Euro-citybuilding! Looking forward for more. P.S. Is the name from a certain French comic strip?
  5. Nicely done! It's really cool to see all the traffic moving...
  6. This is but a Pre-View

That's a very interesting technique for shorelines you have there. Can we get a close-up?
  7. The Sunlandia Archipelago

Looks nice! I wonder how it looks when there's some development...
  8. Welkom in Vuik - Willkommen in Vuettich

Looking awesome! Ben ik correct in het aannemen dat je Belgisch bent?
  9. HESLAND

Looks great, reminds me of Amsterdam. Perhaps a GLR to really finish it?
  10. The commercial looks good indeed, but may I suggest some trees to seperatie it from the highway behind it? Oh, and you seem to have forgotten to deactivate the grid before picture-taking...
  11. R

Looks great! Can't wait to see more!
  12. A tribute to the generic looking city

Looks nice! Though, I assume you mean texTILE mill, not texture mill?
  13. City of Aversa

    Talk about a concrete jungle!
  14. The Patrician Showcase

Looks great! But the tree-area's seem a bit....sparse.

Smarty218: Thanks! Jacqulina: Thank you! Psander5: I'm beginning to like ti as well. It works very well for bulking out a city. Penguin007: Thanks! The track is going to take a bit longer though... Manubeas: WOW! Thanks! That's awesome. I'm going to name something after you as gratitude, like a bridge or a building. Your choice, no limit. Roboo1: It HAS a road. It just ends a bit earlier. Nihonkaranws: Hehehe. Thanks! Sorry guys, the track isn't done yet. The guardrails consistently fail to align properly. I think they do it out of spite, the little bastards... Nevertheless, "Nulla tenaci invia est via", as a certain company puts it. Cookies if you guess which one... So, anyway, we where at Weurtingen. There's a little river and spring nearby I wanted to show you. Now that that's out of the way, we can move on to something more exciting. Remember in the history bit I told you about the large asian contingent? HA! Didn't expect a test did you? Anyway, most of those where from certain agreements made with the Emperor of China (or at least in his name) in the early 1800s. These agreements allowed Harroning a sizable portion of trade, colonies and special goods in return for what can only be described as a reverse colony. An expedition was mounted and a section of land was set aside for the newcomers. They called it Qiao Cheng. The expedition wasn't all that succesful, but retrieving all the colonists was far too expensive, especially since the Opium War started, and such an expedition would surely be attacked by the British. Over the years, the Chinese ceded Qiao Cheng and it's inhabitants to Harroning in exchange for Harroning's Chinese colonies. The Chinese maintained a strong cultural identity, but over the years integrated with Harroningan society so much that fully half of the colonist's descendants live outside the city, and Chinese became a second language for most Harroningans. Qiao Cheng is now a district of the city Alderingen. tl, dr: I needed an excuse to use the fantastic Asian bats. And some more regular Alderingen pictures. On a side note, dýou think I put too many pictures in each update?
