very nice region. and those interchanges are stunning. and that looks like a street bridge. is there a texture you use? and also, that sports complex is massive but effective. great job!

    RESPONSES

GreekMan: Thanks, I'm really trying to figure out DOWNTOWN!!!  And maybe waiting until it is bigger and more complete???

jjue4991: Thanks, I am proud of my interchanges.  If you are referring to the CTH C bridge, that is actually a road, and I was using the Ashy Road Textures, but they are no longer compatible with the new NAM and so I got rid of it else I would have gray roads but the black sections at certain bends or intersections, which could be realistic, i.e. tar, haha

dfnva: Thanks, yes I'm really trying to take progress pictures whenever I start developing an area, helps to tell the development story.

    rjm35: I hope so, thanks.

jacqulina: thanks, I'm going for realism and hopefully it passes that test for you guys, because i can't always tell 15.gif

E.J.C.: Thanks, it is really nice to get responses of AMAZING and such, since I really don't always think it is all that great compared to some others, but thanks, thanks a lot.

UPDATE 14 - City of Delmore Creek Expands South Towards IR-85.

Now to the north side of Sessquenna - Delmore Creek.  Delmore Creek sits at the beginning of Delmore Creek which runs along IR-85 through Sessquenna to the Sessquenna River...about 5 miles from downtown Sessquenna, Delmore Creek was a small farm community of under 1000 residents until expansion has closed the gap between Sessquenna and Delmore Creek.  Soon it will blend in with Sessquenna.  Downtown Delmore Creek boasts an intersection of three major regional highways FH 17 (Union Blvd), FH 44 (80th St / Amesbury Rd), and STH 55 (Delmore Rd).  Future reconstruction projects may see the rerouting of the Federal Highways or a complete overhaul of the existing intersections.  This intersection forms the core of old Delmore Creek which sits in a valley.  New parts of Delmore Creek to the south are built on gradually rising slopes with a fantastic view down onto downtown Delmore Creek and to the south views of Downtown Sessquenna.

But for the here and now Delmore Creek has gone from sleepy crossroads to expanding Sessquenna suburb, enjoy your visit.

THANKS, seemurray2!!! Every once in a while I look back at my old regions (RABOURN, CAMBELLSPORT) and see the good and bad and the maturation of my style and ability. Thanks, I'm really enjoying this region...it is all coming together.

I'm been brainstorming on a new airport project and a pro football stadium project...We'll see how they pan out 2.gif

Great update and perfect use of the ploppable grass tiles, these really ad to realism, don't they? The region view is wonderful with all these winding roads through the fields, I like it very much. Oh, an d the golf course looks great, too!

Glad to see a closeup of Delmore Creek, I'd been curious to see that for quite sometime. I see what you mean about the needs for expanding some roads or maybe building by-passes. I'll be curious to see how that turns out.

My only criticism would be all the industry muddying up the beginning of Delmore Creek, possibly contaminating an important water source. Maybe the Sesquenna County Board of Supervisors could do something about that. 4.gif

    Keep up the good work.

Ugh, I'm stumped on my airport, I don't know how to do terminals and concourses with RMIP!!! I did a great job recreating a real-life airport for the ramps, but I'm stumped when it comes to the concourses and terminals and how all the lines and things work... 15.gif Can anyone give me some tips or download advice?

Sessquenna Update 15 - Sessquenna International Airport

I finally built a decent airport, it is actually a recreation of Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), not complete, but really nice and I'm very proud of the work I did.  Update also includes some pics from the approaching bypass freeway IR-260.

Wow, lots of great stuff in this update. The airport is big, and I like how the road accessing the airport realistically circles around parking and you've got separate kiss-n-ride lanes and such. As always you've got some great interchanges as well.

What airport pack(s) did you use? I forget the ones I d/led but it looks different than some of the stuff you have. My only problem has been since I built a newer airport a few city tiles SW of Winchester, that when I destroyed the municipal airport in the Winchester CBD tile, requests keep coming for an airport. Wouldn't an airport like this take care of such demand? What has been your experience when playing your Sessquenna CBD tile?

dfnva...I used the SWAP Airport Pack and as I mentioned earlier post ace_bovenopdeberg and Voltaires aiport addon...The Swap contains a Airport Tram Lot that is essentially a parking lot that acts like an airport that you can plop in all your other city tiles so that their airport demand is satisfied instead of having to build airports in EVERY tile which is unrealistic...CBD??? That's why you see airport symbols all over my different city tiles but no airports with ramps and runways, just parking with capacity for airport to trick the sims...

Yeah...I've built 29 miles of the IR 260 bypass around Sessquenna...including I believe 3 freeway interchanges so far...Morgans Crossing, Concord, and IR 60/IR 260 interchange to the east...

I don't think I have the SWAP, I have the ACE and Voltaire ones. Thanks for the info on the Airport Tram Lot, I wondered how an airport could satisfy the region.

Btw, CBD is the acronym for Central Business District... i.e. downtown Sessquenna.

Okay, yeah that's what I thought, Dan. Reminds me that I should probably do a downtown update soon...I nearly leveled my entire downtown and was going to replan it, but I just don't feel that is realistic historically, unless a fire swept through and wiped it out... 2.gif

Nice city! I LOVE that church in Delmore Creek... mmm baroque architecture 36.gif

lol, anyways, it looks very realistic. Especially from the region - almost looks like Google Earth! 3.gif4.gif

Hmm, so dead for replies...thanks dfnva and panthersimcity4, of course, glad you like the region and the church, I can see why coming from San Pedro CJ...

So for my next update, I am planning a downtown tour...I've remodeled my riverfront a little too, so you'll notice the difference compared to previous region views...maybe that will spark some interest? Haha, take care.

Not sure why you're not getting replies, that airport obviously took a lot of work, and looks great. The only pic that I have a suggestion about is the pic with the hotels (JCT of SR-125 and CR-R), maybe filling in the empty areas between them with some parking lots or flowers or trees, or even some plain green grass.

Don't give up if you're lacking in the replies, just keep up the good work.

Sessquenna Update 16 - Downtown Sessquenna

I am finally unveiling my downtown.  After much consideration, I redesigned the downtown moving the freeway north two blocks and building better interchanges, etc... I also have created my first mosaics!  The first mosaic was created as the sun was setting so that explains the different sunlight in each section, but I think that in future ones I will try to avoid that, but either way I think it is cool...

Whew, that was a lot of work getting those pictures!  Notice on the Bell South Stadium picture I included part of the next tile, something I'm going to try more often, more realistic pictures instead of falling off the edge of the world...though this one looks like a satellite photo with different colors, but hey it was my first time and I used what I had, wasn't planning on it, but it turned out decent as a prototype.  Hope you enjoyed the first extended look at Downtown.  Replies and comments are welcome.  Tell me what you think of my DOWNTOWN!!!
