Man, that farm really looks horrible...

I hope they will add some proper textures around the building and some fences soon!

"Disponible le 01 Septembre, 2009"

Is that an official release date or just speculation? I was kind of hoping it would come out sooner but I guess the longer they have to work on it the better it should be.

I think it needs more work. For starters, there's absolutely no texture, next, the trees seem a little maxis-like. I'd suggest darkening its color a little more.

A few of those shots were remarkable. The one in which the viewer was posed on top of a skyscraper, looking down at the city was quite incredible.

That video was fantastic. Only issue I saw was that the Buildings construction animations lack some sort of Scaffolding, whcih makes construction look more like a building raising out of the ground like some brick and mortar zombie. Surely they'll fix that.

Will the game let you import your images as terrain texture to help you in creating real cities?

In maxis simcity 4, the day and night option was ok....in the day!!. At night the cities quickly became boring. The lights they used for interior lighting of buildings and more importantly the street light standard were unusual to say the least. I have never been to a city at least in Canada where the light standards on the side of roads, are a consitant white bluish hue!!! They are usually more of an orange glow!!! = ) In the city i live in with a population of around 1 million we have only one street that has those annoying white lights along it and it is known as more of a "red light" or shady part of town. I hope Monte Cristos Cities XL will incorporate that upgrade to realism in the new game.....please!!!!! It would make playing at night almost as addictive as playing during the day if they do!!!! = ]

That video was almost mindblowing, seeing it in action and everything. I really hope CXL lives up to it's expectations.

I imagine that with the custom content and modding communites, this sim's potential will be near limitles.

Hmm after i wrote my last post i went and looked through some screenshots and found that all those light poles (standards) look like something straight out of Russia or something!! = [ LoL what the heck?? what city has those ugly looking things in upper class residential areas?? those should be reserved for "airport road" or maybe on the way to a "race track" or something not on the sides of normal roads/!! I certainly hope they give you an option to choose the classic ones with the elegent curve that extends out onto the road not something so ugly...because in games like these its all about the small things. = ]

Jesus! I have no words..those are some of the best transportation structures ever seen in a videogame if not the best yet...It is impressive how much freedom you have to build your roads and interchanges keeping it realistic to eye. Really, I have no words..Kudos tu Monte Cristo for bringing us that master piece. 44.gif

I have to agree with ya on the interchanges, I've been living here in the midwest now for 10 years (Indiana), and the games interchanges made ours here looks nice... (most of the older signals, in some of the older towns around... drive me nuts!)

SC4, an ancient game made way back in 2003 has better looking highway interchanges than this (even without addons). I'm sorry, but I'm not impressed with it.

But, nothing we see is final. Perhaps they will work on interchanges a bit more before a release. If we had really good looking interchanges in 3D, we can look into every nook and cranny at any angle. It needs to look good in order to work,

I still can't believe SCS didn't have highways at all. I don't recall they even had rails 3.gif. So this is indeed a step in the right direction, but still has a long way to go.
