Looks promising. Hope they wait until the realism is a bit better before releasing it.

Believe in only what you can prove.

I liked to use all of the SC4 standard interchanges even before discovering the NAM and all the modds and textures i have now.Even though maybe they weren't realistic, i've thought they were at least nice. While looking these ones from CitiesXL, i can't stop wondering myself about wheter using them or not...the point is that i don't think they're either nice or realistic.Hope they will improve them before releasing the game.

I do not see why all the dislike over those interchanges? I think they look terrific.

Yep. Remember it takes time for them to render it in a 3D-game. It's not like a 2.5D game like Simcity4. Give it time and it will be good or better than Simcity4, who knows?

They are probably using impostors so the buildings far away from the camera are only flat sprites, like NYC Tycoon

BItrade? sounds like betrayed to me... lol...

ALTHOUGH(!) this doesn't represent my feelings about this game ;-)

I love it. I just love it.

Ok it has it's flaws here and there, but what's without flaws anyway?

gosh I desperately need a new pc... Sims3, Cities XL, etc... guess chances are rare that a 9 year old pc runs this software... :-(

That could be entirely true, and practical.

Yeah, to me they placed the camera at the corner of the map, so you can see all of the city and create the illusion it's huge like a region. It's surely big and looks well done and all, but Region Play is still needed. Even City Life looked awesome on pictures, but when I bought it I experienced a repetitive and totally meaningless game.

    Good pictures nonetheless.

Nothing. I already told you I'm fine with that size too, but you also know I need regions as well, because I can't accept to be restricted by these four 'invisible walls.'

But think about this: all these "It's fine to me", "I'm cool with that", "To me it's okay", "I'm satisfied anyway", "I don't see any problems", "I don't understand what's wrong", etc. statements are the perfect way to let companies (not just game companies) make unfinished and low-quality products. If people keep posting these lazy (no offense) messages saying they're fine with everything, no matter what, we'll end up with yet another crippleware game, just like SimCity Societies.

Do you know that in the Tilted Mill (SimCity Societies) forums people who registered before the announcement of SCS were perfectly fine with the game? They posted 5-star comments, spread "OMG!", "Awesome!", "I'll buy it today!" comments all over the boards, exactly like in CitiesXL.com. Just read their forums and compare the old members (who joined before June 2007) and the new ones (those who learned about the game after its announcement, most of them from SimTrop, SC4Dev and SIMPhoni).

And here we are: EA made SCS and MC worked so thoroughly on the PO taking out dozens of features we asked since the beginning (regions, terraforming, building on slopes, complex transports, modular facilities, free custom content creation, ...) that we don't even know they'll include them after release for a plethora of reasons and 'technical issues.' They don't fear competition because there's none right now; that's why people accept whatever they do.

MC asked your cooperation, not your direction. Philippe and Gregory can only reply to what they're allowed to, they're not MC CEOs. The CXL development team has no "questions to answer", they owe you nothing, there's no servitude or dignity involved in this.

MC told us that CXL wouldn't be a CL or SC4 sequel, that it would be a different game. If they wanted it to partly be MMO so it'll be. The world doesn't revolve around this community and it's by risky projects that new game genres and good games are created, you may not like MMOs but there's probably a group of people who want to play CBs in a MMO gameplay.

I understand where you´re coming from with this, but I´m not convinced that adjusting expectations of this game is necessarily a bad thing or that it will lead to "half-baked", "unfinished and low-quality products". Is it really reasonable to allege MC have been taking out the features we've asked for in favour of developing the PO concept? I remember the dozens of features that have been asked for from the beginning, and a great many of the suggestions made about them on the Cities Xl forums existed mainly in the realms of fantasy. MC have been fairly upfront about their goals from the start about wanting to make a next generation city builder. Not Simcity 5, not the perfect game, but what they think is a game that is both possible to make right now and satisfying to play.

There is nothing wrong with demanding quality, wanting features that are important to us, and being critical. SCS did not come close to providing what we were looking for; it failed for it. But at the same time you can hardly say these "lazy" messages are what stands in the way of us getting all the features we look for. Games are always going to be a compromise, what matters isn't that all our demands are met, but that as many as them as possible are, and that substantial improvements to the genre are made.

In tying themselves to the Planet Offer concept, MC makes itself dependent on the continuing approval of the customer base: if the game turns out to be a stinker, people won't "accept whatever they do" and those monthly subscriptions will dry up mighty fast. I don't expect the moon from Monte Cristo, but I haven't given up the ghost on expecting a decent game that can be improved given the time.
