Maybe, but it just goes to show how popular some items like this are. Besides, many keep telling others to use the Search function and I'm sure it's threads like this that come up. And since there isn't a thread that replaces this one, that's more upto date, I don't see any reason why it can't continue still.

Has anyone reported having problems with thse tools?When I first (I didn't use it after the first try you'll see why) used the lake tool it forze up my game completely and i had to shut it down. The same happened to the rain tool when I held it down for a little while. Sorry if somebody has already posted this I have not seen it.

As to your question;

What can I say, it shouldn't be causing the game to lock up. The only thing that might cause this is if you don't have RH/Deluxe. The only other thing I can think of is if your Graphics card has a bad/outdated video driver, or the graphics card itself is a really bad card.

Finally, I've dowloaded the rain mod, but the rain tool only appears in the God menu when I start a new city. After I establish the city (and in existing cities), I can't find this tool anywhere in the menu !

Could anyone suggest, why would such thing happen?? Or is there some trick I don't aware of? I'm sure, the file I've dowloaded is the correct one.

I'll be grateful for any reply from you !

You can get in Mayor Mode by holding CTRL, SHIFT, and ALT keys down while clicking on the God Mode button. It works believe me I use these keys all the time.

I have a university education, and still sometimes find myself filling dum about not knowing things that are basic to everyone else.

I do a lot of terraforming in my cities, and God knows, how much time & simoleons I spent, and this feature was all the time just under my nose!

Yes, the search function on this board proved miracles here   Anyway... I was trying to download this mod, to see what it does - never tried it before. But the attached dat.file that is in this thread somewhere is not available for download anymore. Anyone knows how I could get those 'rain-tools' to work in my game?

***Didn't you know that Maxis has forgotten Simcity 4? Look at their site, it has been dead for a longtime.***....lol

 

I think everything has been tried to make it permanant and unluckily nothing positive came out, too many files missing.Believe me, the Modds tried hard.

And Maxis will probably not do anything either, so enjoy what you got.

basically what Teirusu did was create a Lot/BAT that, when placed in your city, causes rain to fall periodically. once the STEX is back up again, look through it for his mod, or you can look through this entire topic
