Scotty, you're doing a wonderful job on both St George and the quickie (if you want to call it like that :P ).

I'm really looking forward for the generic one, and i'd like to ask if you can make a version of it without signs at all...just to make it even more generic ;).

Thanks for the comments and cuddly animals40.gif35.gif

i also get distracted easily and start new things like.....

Interesting , dull (or interestingly dull? :P ) black boxyness, i must say...at least for me :D.

You might want to augment the contrast between the parts, though.I believe that the building's overall looking can benefit greatly, under this aspect, with the enhancing of the contrast between the steel skeleton and the glass, between the gllass ant the curtains, between the structure and the blind walls on the top...making the lobby taller (and therefore more noticeable) would be a good move, too.

The building is very dark, try adding some contrasting colours :P.

I must bow down to the Box Master *bows down to the floor*

Excelent work. It would probably look cooler if it were a bit more reflective.

All I know is that it's a scotty222 project, so it's good by my standards. :thumb: Seeing an upload from you on the STEX first thing after logging onto good old Simtrop today was a pleasant surprise for sure. :bunny:

Btw, are you using gmax or have you switched over to 3dsmax?

I'm loving all these skyscrapers. as a beginner in BATing i'm trying to learn how to make these types of buildings.

Could you maybe share some pointers on the method used to make them?.

Right now i'm using polygonal modeling.

Keep up the awesome work. 44.gif

Holy crap, Scotty! It's so good to have you back! :golly:

    Word. :]

Does the progress shot in your last post represent a particular zoom level in game? I'm asking because I was wondering about the ground floor in particular. Due to those giant Sims, it might require some scaling up... I think I've said it before in your thread, but AFAIR your BATs have always been on the smaller side scale-wise. Of course this makes your releases consistent among each other, but when I plopped your BATs next to other peoples' creations in a test city to check them out, I often found that there was quite a difference.

In any case, the modeling looks top notch so far - as always. :)

Amazing work. :D Although you make box towers look really interesting, I'm really anticipating that St. George building. :)

I agree, it looks nice, and I really am excited for that St. George Building. It will be the tallest building in my planned skyline, here is a pic of the buildings I will use, and St. George and the recent building you are doing will really fit in; Charlotte-Vancouver-Apr28001317503936.png

I can't wait for both. Sorry, the dumb photo has the same annoying code as the last version and I tried to resize, but no, Photobucket and Imageshack really try to annoy people. Oh well.

If you are using arch and design mats..maybe you could try upping the glossyness and reflectivity on the glass to bring it to life a bit more?

Other than that its an interesting choice and is looking real good, fits the game very well.

Your glass looks like it has a matte finish. I'd make the glossiness a 1.0 and the reflectivity .9-.98. Then as far as the bump map goes take a look at Jason's tutorial in his thread. Also, the material you've used for the concrete looks too plain. In RL it would have been poured in sections or placed as blocks. Take a closer look at the real building. Start with those two things and then hunt around for other details. The model looks good so far.
