Hello Scotty222, Jack wilds here...

I trust that RL is treating you well and good. I enjoyed the bats from last week; they are all good. Particularly since its been a long while since hearing from your neck of the woods. The WI-northwoods is finally seeing summer weather it took a while longer than normal.

I hope that the Caltex, Hsbc, the Calgary 3-sider, Citi towers will also be a part of the latest collection or soon to be released. At any rate, the latest project is real promising... keep it up.

Jack

Do fight the box.  I look back at some of my earlier BATs and wish that they hadn't been a simple square or rectangular ground plan - anything to break up the monotony of four-sided buildings is great.  Tall, short, what have you - I find much more interest in BATting things lately that haven't been "of the box," and the variation is a welcome relief when those buildings grow...

I think it looks fantastic. I'd really prefer something more subtle on the glass, but I'm sure you're on to that.

Simfox - I probably should have mentioned its a real building and the Mechanical penthouse is like that in RL, I agree that it is definiteley not the best colour choice though.

Kryptowhite - Thats what im trying to do at the moment the ground image is a bit blurry though.

Jack_wilds - Thanks for stopping by, The HSBC and Citibank towers are pretty much done ive just got to find time to render them, i dont know where the other 2 have gone TBH

    ill have a look

madhatter106 - I know what you mean lol

DragonAnime - Yeah thats the main thing i want to fix on the glass now

After looking at it a few times i have grown into liking the glass on the canterra tower so i will keep basically as is aside from a few minor tweaks

    also started lighting

With all the good stuff I've seen at ST, its been getting harder and harder to drop my chin. But you just dropped my chin 3.gif

That is absolutely gorgeous. Not only is the blue windows awesome, but you mixed in the other lights good. Can you pm me with the image you used for the blue lighting? I'd like to try that one on my BAT.

Edit: Well there is some proof of how long it's been. I said chin dropping instead of jaw dropping lol.

    Hello Scotty222, Jack wilds here...

The Canterra Tower is looking good, promising however I agree with bixel,

something askew with the light and shadow cast.

Structures like these make want to return to the UW and get an architecture degree...

Bixel - dunno i might give it a go, the weird roof lighting was caused by a stray light and its fixed now

Simfox - yeah i know what you you mean about the base lights, im probably going to completley redo those

Canterra Tower is nearly finished ive just gotta redo some of the lights

Meanwhile i started BATing something new

Some of your older building in this thread look great, but I do not see them released anywhere.  Are they not done, or did you lose them in a hardware accident, or do you plan on releasing them?

Your buildings are fantastic, some of my favorites in the game. ( I especially like the logos, they make the city feel more real) So keep up the great work!

^Scotty has a disease called BAT ADD. 3.gif

haha but this new one looks pretty cool. Its the first "short" building you've done but i love the shape and design. Interested to see what those things on the other side are.

Kryptowhite - thats a good way off putting it im gonna say that from now on9.gif

Utvaw - i hope to release most of my old models eventually, i sort of have a short attention span when it comes to BATing so i tend to keep starting new things without finishing them, BAT ADD as Kryptowhiteputs it

I intend to render the canterra tower tonight so heres hoping its on the Stex tomorrow

    Also started texturing 1 Fanshawe

    fanshawe2.jpg

I still need to finish the paved area and i need to find a better grass texture, ill probably also put in some trees or something

I'd suggest a gaurdrail on the roof. You know, for the kid who likes to skateboard on the roofs of buildings 3.gif Its a little more painful to fall off a 5 story building in RL than it is in Tony Hawk.

Love this building though, its really unique.

beutelschlurf - I sorta thought the same thing and almost decided just to shelve thast building.

    Kryptowhite - Good point lol

Simfox - Its a recreation of building in auckland that was completed about a month ago, i basically started it just after it was finished irl.

Havnt had much time to BAT lately with uni and all

plan to finish 1 fanshawe soon44.gif, just need to go get some more reference pics for a couple of bits.

    Sort started something new
