Anubis and aleking... your work really amazes me no matter how many times I see the same pictures.

Anyway, I love working with rail, and to date this is my favorite shot.

awesome picture LP. if there was a longer buddybud bridge that you could put on that bridge on the right, it would be perfect, but it's not your fault so awesome job. lol.

goin2chicago, I could actually use 2 avenue/highway/double rail or the sorts overpasses and get the look. Good idea though, I'll see what it looks like. 2.gif

wisher, is that Japanese? Looks realistic.

    Dark_Jedi06, very elaborate.

    LP, keep it up.

3 more: SimTropolis Train Station front & rear close-ups & McDonald's (would you look at the fender-bender caused by everyone rushing for a morning bite?)

Okay, so we should post an image of our railroads ^^ not very much, but it took suprisingly long time to get the station placed correctly... then a scycraper blocked out that portion from the good angle anyway... but the station overlaps the tunnel and hides the tunnel and creates a visial plaza inbetween the w2wbuildings and the station.

Dont know if i have any other nice looking railroads in Vando, but there might be some hidden somewhere ^^

Yah I'm working on a region based entirely on Japanese bats, and trying not to use any original buildings. Thanks.

xiziz, amazing. The old buildings look like the mall in DC.

wisher, please post some pictures when you're done. How about building some rice paddies beside low-to-medium-size houses separated by very narrow streets, some grocers & 24-hour convenience stores close to a rail line with ACed-in-summer/heated-in-winter booths? Did I forget those vending machines selling hot coffee? 4.gif Search for a city at Google maps & click the 2nd button (Satellite) for ideas.

Update: a ground level rail tram line in the southeast. Crashing back to desktop was fun. I found a tip: build the GLR line first & stations last. There aren't GLR over one-way roads. You'll need NAM for GLR. The below are optional.

jacqulina, very original farmland in your CJ.

Gridlock, where's the grid lock? 4.gif

Joe 90, looks like a watercolor painting.

Super- Timo, could you wait a while? We handed out all the awards.

Updates: the center rail lines are over 3000 in traffic. The western line extends into the dirty industry. Freight trains come & go non-stop. First time I've seen this orange apt up to 10000 resident capacity. There are 2/3 in the city. Shown is in northwest. I've found that I have to accommodate the larger buildings by adding accessible public transit or else they'll go empty. A convention center by a large train station & an upgraded commercial airport.

Sorry to be slightly off-topic here, but...

Can anyone tell me how to set-up a railroad? I've been having troubles doing it.

    Thanks. Keep 'em coming.

420, what exact troubles are you having? If you're more specific, we can give you a better answer. Basically, you drag a rail line across empty land, place 2 passenger/freight stations at both ends, connect the rail line with roads, public parking lots, bus stops, etc. Railroads merge if you overlap 'em together diagonally. Delete a 1x1 section & redo until you like the crossing. Watch it grow. The train cars show only as much as the usage of the line & stations. The more usage, the more train cars.

Update: same rail for the city & GLR for individual parts of the city lines, new GLR tram cars, & bigger capacity stations. Gotta thank those who made the STEXes.

How do you take in-game screenshots? I could show you exactly what's wrong with it...Because I wouldn't know how to explain it too you seeing as I don't know any dynamics to this game at all...Haha.

Actually - all of these are great :-)

But there is one thing that I've noticed in almost all of the pictures - and that's some of the very steep gradients for what look like main line rail :-S

aleking, excellent city layout. I've been STEX-shopping. It's scary that I can recognize some buildings in your city: AGS Arbordale Stadium, Urban Parking Garage, Blockbuster, Century Movie Theater. Also great rail yard work. Keep it coming.

GMT, I don't mind if you copy mine.

Update: loving High Speed Rail Project, & the creations of BAT - Hong Kong / Asian Team Room. Could stare at the skyscrapers all day. The HSRP rarely has trains on track. Makes sense. Its station can connect to 2 elevated high-speed rail lines, 1 elevated rail line & 1 rail line both ways.
