From my CJ:

Freight rail is on top and left; passenger rail is on bottom and right. Freight and passenger never interfere. Pic 1 - Spring

Very nicely arranged, I find it difficult to place without looking to clumped together.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Camaron, thanks, i turned UDI off now.

    aleking, very elaborate.

jacqulina, I agree, his is great.

Updates: a neighbor city Shimokita, which i just found out that actually exists, is composed of modern commercial skyscrapers, a high-tech industry, concentrated residential areas & a classic site that has its own police station, fire station, clinic, theatre & school. Very few plugins were downloaded from STEX. The majority was from other sites. I don't even have a name for most every bat/lot in the menu since it's in a foreign language. Enjoy.

Where did one obtain the electric-y thingies that hold up the powerlines for electric trains? (I'm sure that they have a name)

Hi! I find your rail system pretty cool but  I have a question: where can I get these textures for my rail tracks? I mean, it looks like asphalt!

I downloaded the new nam bridges file, but I can't find the bridges lots of people use to cross sunken highways, or whatnot, can someone point out where my problem lies?

And wonderful rail networks, Ak yours especially, but you knew that of course 3.gif

If you are referring to the trussed bridges with the grey walls nearby, those are done with lots that have overhanging props. Buddybud is the author of the lots. Underneath the overhanging props, the members have used the NAM's puzzle pieces. You can try these tutorials to see how it is done:

    - Overpasses with Rail Lines

    - Sunken Highway Onramps and Offramps

The "new NAM bridges" file you downloaded adds extra bridges that can be chosen after you have drawn a network across water.

Thx swamper, I actually just needed to add the extra rail intersections by buddybud that have the pieces to fit in with Jeronji's walls... I should be able to create these bridges now.

Because of the fact that it is one? If so, yeah, I try to use under and overpasses as much as possible, but because I'm using my own realistic slope mods (eg. no rail gradients more than 1.45 degrees) it was pretty much impossible for me to create any sort of pass at that intersection. Although it is very tough on congestion, it isn't completely unrealistic in the way that Melbourne where I live has a incredibly high number of rail crossings on main roads. Many more than the other capital cities.

    Cheers, btw.

Excellent job to everyone who posted, I envy your patience determination and skill

This is my first attempt at a visually appealing rail line, and I think it turned out pretty nicely.

bwatterud, you need to master the single road tool as a method of flattening ground.

I really don't like the single road tool, though it is the best way to level small areas. Half of the time it will level the wrong way, so you have to terraform a little and try again.

I use them anyway. How did you think I got the NAM bridges nice and level. 2.gif

bwatterwud you are using it the wrong way. take the digging lot and drag a road all the way through it, this will give you one perfectly level square at the bottom. you can work from there. it sounds like you are trying to use the single road trick from a non-level start.

but actually i was looking at the terrain around your ditch anyway.

@luker91: yeah and actually I don't understand this because without North Countryu Dude's great textures but only w?th the standard network plus the NAM the diagonal ra?lyards look way better IMHO. the switches are a bit tricky but not impossible to do ...
