I just placed the bus/subway stop there. One thing I did notice was there was another bus/subway stop in the area, next to one of those white buildings that look like an insect. When I would query that bus stop, it would load up the query box of the insect building. I don't know if I deleted the bus stop or the building or both or if I dezoned or wahtever, but I got rid of them. Then I noticed the bus stop in question was next to one of those insect buildings too, so I queried and sure enough it gave me information about the building not the bus stop. I don't know what I did when I tried destroying it, but I know it wasn't the same as the first time because the bus stop wouldn't go away. Oh well, I think I will just end up having a "green area" here.

I recently came back to SC4 from a long break. Yesterday I created an industrial area, but I had to destroy a few things when this damn avenue bus/subway station would not go away! I tried bulldozing, dezoning, raising or lowering the land, setting it on fire, and more.. with no success. Here is a screenshot of the thing that just won't go away no matter what! Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Is there a way to remove it? Do I just have to work around it and make the area a forest to hide it? Thanks for any help or advice. Deleting the city and starting over is not an option

I personally hate the ridiculous looking modern buildings. I like them simple, towers, not some curvy thing with all kinds of bells and whistles. I hate the design of all the buildings in Dubai. I personally wouldn't mind if somone used the dezone tool there

Seeing this thread depresses me, I wish I had even just 1/4 of the patience to creatue such beautiful and realistic looking cities and landscapes, all I can do is zone and build. Excellent job to everyone who posted, I envy your patience determination and skill

This really doesn't seem like a problem at all, except that I've also got high demand for Co$$ and any commercial i zone gets taken over by the Co$$$ and the few that become Co$$ get replaced shortly. The Co$$$ grows way beyond what it's currently asking for, so it becomes abandoned and Co$$ takes it over raising the Co$$$ demand back up again causing more buildings to come up, it's an endless cycle and my downtown looks really ugly with half the buildings being abandoned. I'm not sure what to do and it's starting to piss me off, I'm thinking that I should just build another downtown for Co$$ only in another city nearby. Also I can't seem to get any stage 8 buildings even though I've more than passed the threshold for stage 8 development, I did get one, but as you can guess it became a big ugly abandoned building and it got demolished. Must certain conditions be present for the big stage 8 buildings to appear?

I recently got a new montherboard with a new CPU and 1 gig of ram, becuase my old mobo died, anyway. I run with almost everything on high settings, I have noticed that having city detail on high increases the number of CTD exponentially as there are so many lightposts, trees, people, cars, etc that appear, and remain visible at higher zoom distances. I really don't want to go back to the ugly low city detail and have dull lifeless cities. I get a lot of crashes when zooming, I haven't really paid attention to how fast I zoom or how much time I give it before trying to move (although being the impatient type that I am I'm sure I don't give it all day ) From now on I will try to pay attention at how I zoom, and write back, I will also try playing with the sound off/on as some have suggested. One strange thing that happened yesterday was that I clicked my university because they were about to strike, the window came up and everything started slowing down and I noticed it didn't say University in the title bar, but a bunch of gibberish of numbers and letters and equations. Then it just crashed to the desktop after a couple seconds.

UGH! After almost a whole day of playing, and countless saves I was about to say that I got rid of the problem. I had just finished making a nice little town off of the main highway in what was once an industrial wasteland. Decided to save and exit to region to start the next city, and I hear that horrible CD drive spinning and within seconds I'm staring at my desktop, ready to throw my monitor through the window :'( I guess I will try what you said of saving more often, I hope it doesn't only lead to more exits to desktop because of more saves Just makes you want to vomit when all your hard work is lost...

Thanks for the responses. So far I'm not having any problems with my "fix" of switching from disc 2 to 1, other than when I got bored and made a bunch of disasters and caused the game to crash, which I'm not worried about. About the lot editor, I tried registering on the site to download it, but since I had this game for a few years and only recently started playing it again I must of registered already when the game came out, so it says my number is already used, and I have no idea which email address I used at the time ( I've used thousands of email adresses) Is there any other location where you can download it? I'm going to upgrade to rush hour asap. I'm sick and tired of having long commute time on 99% of my buildings!

Well so far the game hasn't closed on me since I changed from Disc 2 to Disc 1, but as I said earlier, it doesn't happen all the time so I may just be getting a lucky streak. If by the end of today it doesn't happen anymore, I will assume it is fixed and will post again.
