I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

I really like your rail, did you do your own mod of original RRW or the reskin?  Looks like you have the switches and curves and everything or at least some.  I have modded and darkened the straights on everything except the regular rail, I would like to do it but there are just so many textures to it.

@JulianMIA it's the RRW AltTex mod, I didn't have to lift a finger. *

Those concrete tie variations are looking great! A lot of light rail uses that sort of track.

Thanks! My light rail texture is very close to these tracks, just wasn't in these pics.

So I want to try out this RRW AltTex but I cannot find it anywhere, do you have a link?  I know the regular reskin was not formally released, it's just 'around' on the site somewhere, I though maybe this is too?

@JulianMIA I think your best bet will be to get the newer version from Rivit's development/testing site, linked in this post. That way you have a good base for contribution - my version is ancient:

Thanks!

Love how that below-grade railway station adds just the right additional depth to the scene!

I especially like the viaduct curve - these are a real pain to engineer well - in SimCity or RL.

btw. have you considered using the RUM for RRW for more Viaduct Colour options and matching Bridge Rail textures or Faded Catenary Mod to tone down the white of the catenaries?

@JulianMIA now I have the indeleble urge to see a full map of all those rail lines!

@Dragonxander beautiful bends on the traditional rail! I love to see how different people resolve access to rugged terrain, specially when going along with the geography instead of defying it with humongous linear ramps and trenches.

The way I build my rail and road networks aims to follow maximum realism with geometric design. I'm using the BRF Tunnel and Slope Mod, which defines rather strict slopes for all networks except for the Real Highway Mod, while it also provides vertical curvature to the roads proper.

Whenever I build a surface network, I always do earthworks first, defining the longitudinal slopes, viaduct locations, cross-slopes, benching, trenches, embankments, clear zones on either side of the network and bridge approaches. I always strive to use the most efficient routes (defined as those with the least drastic cuts / fills) and choose generous alignments (large, flowing curves that follow the contour of land features).

For those interested, here it is! I'm using an older version that has the monorail/high speed rail and the elevated rail with the same slope

Simmer2- that will make a fine addition to those rusty industrial lots you created which have STR.

Also- have you released those 1x1 railway/industrial fillers (one such lot in the bottom left of your picture)? They could come in useful for many other areas!
