Wow, paulvmontfort. That totally solves the only problem I saw on your model. Amazing! Looks incredible. I am definitely replacing the old version of this in my game when the new one is released. 4.gif Keep up the good work.

    Sorry for my absence, I had a lot of school stuff to do as this is my final year in highschool. I have an exam week after 1.5 week or so. I have to go to school now, but when i get back, I'll try to contact bixel to render me One Pacific Place. And ask T Wrecks if he has some screenshots of the lot of the Island ShangriLa Hotel. BTW a week ago was our team's birthday, we totally missed it lol 3.gif

    Well, from that what I know, if you textured windows applying UVV Mapping to all, there is undocumented problem in .dll which is responsible for this problem - it' occur from 3DS6 to 8 and in gmax...

    It's been a while, but I have finally found a halfways acceptable lot design for the dependency-free version of the Island Shangri-La Hotel (Pacific Place Complex). Here you can see both versions (with dependencies and without) next to each other:

    Finally, here's an example shot that shows how the overhanging version can be used:

    One question to Paul / Bix: Is this the correct night map? Wasn't that reddish one to be used, the same as on Marriott and Conrad International?

    And of course a few questions to everybody who reads this:

    - Does it look ok?

    - Would you like to have non-overhanging plop lots as well?

    - How about transit-enabling the growables? Yes, no, both? (It's not really a big deal to make two versions, then again I don't know if you would want this to be easily overgrowable in the first place...

    they both look very good to me. The nightmap is ok. The real ShangriLa hotel has 2 colours of nightlighting, Green and bronze. The lower green part are offices while the upper bronze nightlight part is the hotel itself. So I had to choose one of those colours I wanted it to be bronze, but accidentily said to bixel to make it green, but green is just as fine with me.

    Ok, no problem. 4.gif I guess I will make a CO$$$ and a CS$$$ version. If I'm not mistaken, the office part is called "Two Pacific Place", so this will be the in-game name of the office version. The hotel will of course be named Shangri-La. Luckily there is no big name sign on the building this time, so it won't look odd if I choose a different name. 2.gif

    Ok, final news before I ship the stuff to Paul: I've decided to cut down the options a tad - I think 9 lots ought to be more than enough. You will get a growable 6x6 hotel (both deluxe and normal version), a growable 6x6 office tower (both deluxe and normal version), plus the same sermon as plops with jobs (makes 8 lots in total), and finally a landmark as overhanging lot. I decided to reduce the overhanging part a bit as well and add some transit-enabling (including the TrafficMarkTM feature introduced with bixel's Tai Yuen Towers), and the result can look a bit like this:

    The documentation is finished; all that's left to do now is to make three Icons (CS$$$, CO$$$, LM), some item descriptions, and some file hygiene  - I'm going to delete superfluous files, thus decreasing file size and making this unuploadable (is that a word? 42.gif) on the Maxis Exchange. Pirate kiddies fffff.....ind something else. 9.gif

    yeah!! it has been quiet here for quite a time now... I myself am in the middle of migration to new system, plus had unexpected amount of work to deal with... but it should get better in a week or so so i can finish couple of projects..

    That is such an awesome building prolly the best one designed in the world. No too sure how you are going ot solve your window texture problem..you are just going to have to hunt down or make some new textures.

    @Paul

    Don't be too severe to yourself.

    Your design comes very close to reality.

    Don't forget, the colours changing with weather influence (sunshine, etc.).

    The only thing what you can change a little is to make the glasses a bit more "skyblue" there's a little much grey in the colour.

    All in one it's excellent work !
