great stuff!!

I would probably go for a slightly more "tuned" lighting on the roof elements for the night view. Colors are fantastic, but I think they are clash a bit - both very strong and a bit to independent from each other yet basically trying to do the same thing, play the same role. Decide on the Main one and use second (or even more) in supporting role. It will make effect more harmonious. Also play with color itself - mix some of the main color into the supporting one, or alternatively, bled common color into both. This way you'll "marry" them better!

And about day scene – I think the color of main support structural frame is wrong – it’s too dark and sort of dirties the whole thing somewhat It also clash with bluish tinted membrane material. Brighten it up move it towards cooler and white. I’m sure it will lift the whole thing up.

Also structure looks like something is missing at the ground level. Like some people mentioned where are the entrances?? I mean I understand they could be hidden from view, but the problem, is that there is strong illusion that something is missing… This is modeling/design issue and a minor one given the spectacular result, still this is one area you can look into (time and desire permitting) to improve the impact of the structure.

Sorry for raining on your parade. But I believe you have enough praises from others and I would better serve you with some pointers…

I think you clearly have talent with 3D – you do see volumes – not flat sheets of paper/screen. This sets you apart from vast majority of people.

How about Challendge? Eh? Singapore’s Concert Hall – the building that looks like giant bug eyes?

Thanks simfox, these are very good suggestions. but I can't completly agree with what you saide. I think the night light is done for this one as well as the other two stadium. They all have a same neon night light style, and they are pretty harmonious together. I will post some pictures later to show you how they looks like at night.

Here is a picture of the 3 stadiums at night:

    And day:

As for the bone structure color issue. there is no right or wrong, cuz the real thing hasn't been built yet. Here is a render of the stadium, which don't even have a bone structure.

But I did quickly lighten up a the color a bit:

    rebder14kk2.jpg

I don't know...I still prefer the darker one. The bone and the glass/membrane just look to bright to me in this one.

And there is no real "entrance" in this stadium. from what i understand people enter the stadium from all direction through the spaces between those hexagon shapes. I like this way better because it allow much more traffic flow in and out of the stadium.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, my friend.

Well, my point was not to get you to agree with me, but to attract your attention to certain points, that’s it.

But I think I need just couple more clarifications about night lighting

When I mentioned clashing colors I mean that that Blue clashes with that Purple. Both are very strung and they distribution seem somewhat accidental. I mean it could be a part of animation for all I know and it would, naturally, be wrong to judge static frame. But as it is I think these clash. Not with things around, but within, doesn’t mater how many buildings have same scheme.  Hope you understand what I mean.

About Bone structure… Well it depends on what it suppose to be. If it is (as I believe) intended to appear light and almost levitating granting the whole structure sense of weightlessness then it have to be lighter in color to merge better with the membrane. If on other hand it is to be big imposing structure on its own right then it could be darker. But I bet, given overall style of structure, the first one is the case.

And for it showing in the render – well it does… look carefully – it is there, but it is white or very light… I’m sure it will be white in real building – there are all too many reasons for it.

For entrances.. I didn’t mean one grand gate sort of thing… just a sense of how people are actually going to get into (apart from exercising they athletic skills and jumping in through the opening on top…

Those tetrahedrons in the original are arranged somewhat different, instead of laying on the ground with the rib they sort of stand on one vertex creating something of an arch. Anyway this is a minor thing..

Actually all of those are minor things.
You new baby is spectacular anyway!

And here is the old one:

I think that I like the darker one best....I'm going to have to disagree with simfox though, I think the blue and purple nitelights on the stadium go well together and are complimentary....a very unigue feel (in a good way 4.gif )

The darker one. The ligher one seems to overpower the lot and its surroundings. The darker one fits on its lot, and fits with its complex.

Well, I could also release the lighter version if you really want it. You think it is necessary?

DM, you have to remember one thing - you do bating to express yourself, it is your baby - so what is necessary is for you to express yourself as you see fit! We can come and say all sort of things here. That doesn't mean you have to follow it all. I think people should have the right to say what they want - including NO! Actually, right and ability to say NO is an essential part of free-flowing creative process.

So, do what YOU think is right. We are here at YOUR thread may offer suggestions, that's what they are - not commands. The purpose of them is to bring to your attentions various accepts of modeling, presentation etc. of which you may not been aware or simply didn't think of. Then it is YOUR decision if it fits YOUR vision.

I personally hope to see Library and Pioneer palace ... BTW have you considered re-doing your first ones? Or, if you're ok with it, I may give then a go sometimes later when I'll have a time. I mean to remodel them from the scratch - particularly TV building. I just would love to to try on them new materials and lighting...
