Apart from the links given by CaptCity, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of tram-on-road stations:

Yes, these are normal GLR/tram stations. They can be used for tram-on-road due to this NAM puzzle piece:

tramonroadstop0.th.jpg

First plop a tram station:

tram22r.th.jpg

Next plop the puzzle piece on both ends:

tram33.th.jpg

Drag onewayroad outwards and back inwards as shown on the next two pictures:

tram34.th.jpg tram35.th.jpg

Connect by onewayroad:

tram36.th.jpg

Bulldoze the outer part of the onewayroad

tram37.th.jpg

and repeat these steps on the other side.

You cannot directly connect the avenue on the side, but you may connect avenue via two onewayroads:

You can build similar stops for the tram-in-road, and you can create a roundabout:

Maybe I could satisfy your curiousity a bit: The first thing that pops up wheny you search stex for  "glr station in avenue" is Shmails GLR Avenue Station 1. I downloaded that one, installed it after nam (that's the only dependancy the readme mentions) but when I tried using it there was no el train traffic going through it, only buses and cars. I activated the paths with one way streets like the readme sais. I also tried to exit to region and go back again. I checked the paths with drawpath and they were ok. I tried intalling nam essentials, sfbt essentials but no luck, I then got the stations from sfbt and trams started running like crazy :-]

Since the station from Shmails is the first one to show in the search it  may be the one Robinson79 was talking about.

Anyway the one from sfbt is cheaper, has a greater capacity and is working so it's a no brainer ;-)

Perhaps I'm a goof, but why is it that my GLRs disappear in UDI only for the Cogeo's GLR stations and hubs and suburban stations? Am I missing a file or something? Or do they just not work?

The only difference between tram-in-road and tram-on-road is that the first kind reserves a median in the middle of the road to let the trains run; while on the other hand, on the tram-on-road tiles, the trains share the road inner lane with road traffic.

This difference is only aesthetical, there's not a difference of performance or capacity between the two kinds and you can switch from one to the other when you want...

There are track sectionswith turning sections that supposedly allow you to have a station in the middle. I've tried every station and not one of them will go in the gap. Any ideas?

The SFBT GLR mod stations fit in these gaps. HOWEVER you must place the station FIRST and then the turnaround pieces. Of course you need to be careful with those so as to avoid a CTD

I'm barely getting any ridership on my GLR lines. I had an el that ran parallel to an avenue, but I tore it down to zone some more land and built a GLR-in-avenue line. I had about 4500 people riding the el before I got rid of it, and after building the GLR, I had less than 400. The GLR stations were placed right next to the former el stations, and also had bus service, while the el stations did not have any bus connection. After getting no riders basically, I rebuilt the el and now I'm getting those 4500 riders again. Anyone have any input?

Many links are not working.

In fact, 90% of links directed to STEX from any other sources don't work.

I used the links today, but only some of them. Yesterday I tried out all of the links, many of them are not working and thus lead to the 'main download page' of the STEX. Thanks, I will do report them later.

It's to do with the link redirection, most of the time it just doesn't work. This issue is happening everywhere that links to the STEX to be honest, someone would have to go through and repair each of the links individually.

The links in the first post of this topic seemed to work correctly. The links in the second post weren't but have been updated. If there is another major topic in the forums that provides links to a certain classification of items, let us know.

It means you have missed dependency. Tell us (link if possible) the station you just downloaded and we will help you find the dependency you need.

There is file name "Models" contained within the .rar files. Make sure you install them into your plugins folder. Moreover, don't forget to read the readme file. It is there for a reason.

Do what Cefien said, and also make sure you have the latest version of NAM. It is required for the mod to work properly.

This is an interim station for a specific purpose.  Are you sure this is the one you need?

GLR gridlock.  My sims are so in love with the system that it can get to be one solid conga line of trains blocking intersections and at times trains dying and withering away if they can't continue on to their destination.

The perfect solution would be a two to three car tram either by mod of the cars themselves or a limit to the possible length (I know at one time there was a radical mod that could adjust the length of passenger rail trains).  The VDK short car versions do help, but not enough and I'm not exactly partial to them.

Switching to streetcars seems to be my only viable solution at this time (one car units) but that brings up a station issue as they always stop well ahead of stations as if more cars still followed.

Can a 1x1 station be made with a total lack of props (or perhaps a fancy light pole with directional signs) so that it would look natural for a streetcar to stop (as well as being in the same relative vicinity of where an opposing streetcar would also stop)?

Edit: a simple mockup of what elements I'd envision for a light pole for between the trackslampqk.jpg

I know your feeling, trams can become very very long. You might want to post your question in the though :)

thanks, think I figured out how to do that without invoking the wrath of a double or repeated post.

Sort of related, but is there any chance of an El-rail terminus being made? I think it's something that's needed in the game.

Are any of these stations relevant anymore if they aren't included in the current NAM?  Will they work properly?

They will work the same as they always have.  The ones included with the NAM are simply guaranteed to be NAM-compatible.
