Keep it real you guys, Mukkerman

The conversation is getting way off subject and needs to be brought back under control immediately! 26.gif-JoeSocWork

quote>

Time for me to insert my two exploding cents!

As far as I can see, Joe, this IS the subject.

Ok, personally, I do not agree with these lots, but, IRL, most people are degenerate perverts. If that's what they want, then, fine. Let them get their perverted pleasure, as their wives/spouses sit alone at home, wondering why their husb/wife had to work late again. Yes, people have the right to fill themsevles with destructive, immoral trash, and if that's right up your alley, too, then that's fine with me! Just be prepared to pay the consequences, if your dear old lady/man/otherwise finds out! Then, we might be needing a homeless shelter! Just because it exists or is popular does not mean it is right! If you want this to be a Sin City, then, fine!

Before my sig got deleted, it said this: As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord! Thus, I shall. If you don't, then, fine.

Now, for those people wanting an alternative to these sin buildings, expect some soon, just as soon as I finish school this year (about 2-3 weeks).

Good day, everyone, as I now have to go to school.
Keep the change, and don't buy anything bad with it.

Hello SG, you sure do know how to cause a ruccus (sp?). Well nonetheless I support your work 100%, but then you already knew that. Well trying to stay on topic I have a request. Is there anyway you can make like a sporting/hunting/fishing/recreation store?? I have a link here for you to get some ideas. We have a store like this here in Milwaukee. I frequent this store alot to purchase things we'll need for the summer. Well I hope you can get inspiration form the link provided. I'm sorry that there isn't a pic. of the actual building. Take care and have a great day!!!

Yes!!!
More sleaze, please.. 29.gif

No, I don't mean more sleaze. I'm talking..gun shops, Christian Bookstores, etc. Just give me a few weeks...

Yep, I soon realised I misunderstood your post, but I couldn't be bothered to edit..

Gun shops? Well to me those are far more immoral than the occasional strip joint.. 19.gif
But bring 'em on..It's a free site (so far) and I'll surely download them..

@dusktrooper

do you really think GUNSHOPS are morally better or higher than strip clubs????

Strip clubs don't kill people, weapons sold by gunshops do!

I have also thought of a more traditional Red Light district, and might make something along that lines. If you have any suggestions of where to get pictures of what you mean, please post them. Just be sure they are suitable for our site here; the lots I have posted, I have taken care to be sure they are not too suggestive or graphic. Do the same for any pics you want to post. I WILL NOT be posting anything that shows anything you wouldn't see on broadcast TV. But heck, most of the stuff on TV I wouldn't consider worthy of looking at, so maybe that standard is too low...

For pictures of the Amsterdam red light district (let me say this first of all, the photos you see when clicking here are not offensive, but if you don't want to see them, just don't click it):

Hamburg:

(this last one provides some nice pictures)

Mostly, these are night pictures, I guess this is the most essential thing about red-light districts, the way they are lit up at night18.gif

edit: sorry I removed one of my Amsterdam links because it was messing up layout. If you want me to get more pictures, I'll look for them.

I think DT is having a little joke with us. No one can seriously call a gunshop wholesome. Esp. from a country where more people die from accidental shootings than road accidents.

But hey, if it looks good and the mods work well in the game, I'll download it. That's what the STEX is all about.

SG, you're going to have to work pretty hard to top the controversy of the last three lots. #150's got a big reputation to live up to.

Hey don't listen to these religeous fanatics trying to create Sim-Bible Belt. You want to create a realistic city? Well real C$ zones contain strip clubs. They also contain porn stores, pawn shops, gun shops, liquor stores, check cashing places, and crack houses (well maybe that's R$). They are all considered nuisance businesses.

I say build whatever you want (as long as the exterior is PG, there are still kids here). Those holier-than-thou Bible-thumpers can either not download it or manage their cities better so they don't pop up!

Hey, DuskTrooper.

It's good to read that you'll be posting some alternative buildings -- gun shops, Christian book stores, etc. It would also be great to see some storefront mission churches, homeless shelters, city health centers, etc.

Looking forward to your buildings.

Regards,

Vandy

WARNING ... as I posted in SimGoobers Lot comments ... do not use the forums for personal attacks and flaming ... if you do not like a specific lot ... let it go ... nothing in the lots are x-rated or abbusive or inflammatory ... apart from the fact that the lots reflects what is really going on in the world.

I will appreciate it if you will consider your posts carefully and do not assume that every ather person in the world shares your same personal values and specific religious beliefs.

Speaking of which, I didn't think they even got naked at Chippindales. I wouldn't know, of course, but that was kinda the impression I got from it. I thought they just danced around in conforming clothes to music while ladies hooted and hollared.

Truthfully, I think this debate has gotten a little carried away. I don't think it's anyone's fault, either, but rather you're all a bunch of angsty teenagers looking for something to stand up to. So no worries.

IIRC, the Chippendales didn't do full nudity (may still not do it for all i know), it was some other male stripper group that first made full male nudity 'popular' entertainment for the ladies before loads of others copied it.
How do i know that, er, i grew up in the Netherlands, yeah, they teach this in school 9.gif

I take it its not possible to link growable buildings to the gambling ordinance then?

Okay guys, this has now gone quite far enough. I think we have seen quite an over-reaction about these lots, just as we have seen over-reactions in the past. The whole point with Sim City, is that you see nothing from the lots - its purely just a name, and a fuss from a few words such as showgirls or chippendales, I don't see anything explicit in those names.

I believe I have said this before, if there is something in the STEX that you don't personally like, then you simply do not download it and you move on. there is no reason to cause a fuss about it, purely for the sake of causing a fuss.

I'm afraid that most of you will have to deal with far worse than what you seem to deem offensive on the STEX out in the real world, with your jobs, on the news and sometimes just walking down the street.

I would like to say that this issue is now over, and I hope you can all trust the admins judgement when it comes to this site. Please remember that we do take the time to talk these kinds of things and issues through.

Any further comments will be graciously received at my inbox, and not on these public forums!

Nowhere so far... but it's coming. AFAIR, it's the new rooftop of that odd split building SG has been working on. 1.gif

Once we're at it: Any progress on that one, SG?

Btw, I'm gonna print out certain pages of this thread and show it to my friends... we're gonna have a blast! 17.gif

Oh, and Samantha: Thanks for intervening, btw. It was overdue. 2.gif

Ooh, distracting with split buildings, not split opinions. I'd like to see some more of that.

BTW: Thanks for your 3 previous contributions to the STEX... my reconstruction of Ft. Bragg is now complete. 44.gif2.gif I was too embarrassed to ask for establishments of that nature, because of, well, religious convictions (no, that's not a flame, it's truth). Thanks again, SG. I'm looking forward to seeing your re-releases of some old favorites and that split building.

Keep up the great work.

Edited, this issue is over.

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.
