SC4Mapper is a compagnon utility of SC4Terraformer created by Wouanagaine for you to import and export SimCity 4 regions
SC4Terraformer is not required to use SC4Mapper.
SC4Mapper will help you to:
- Export a region you made in SC4
- Import a region that you have downloaded
- Take an overview picture of your region ( usefull for planning or including in a MD/CJ )
Starting with version v2026.1d, SC4Mapper is compatible with the following operating systems:
- Windows
- Linux
- MacOS
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MACOS USERS:
After unzipping, remove the quarantine flag before launching:
xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine SC4Mapper.app
This is required once because the app is distributed without an Apple Developer certificate.

- Ported to Python 3 and wxPython 4.
- Replaced native extension modules with pure Python/NumPy:
- qfs.py replaces the old QFS compression extension.
- terrain.py replaces the old tools3D terrain rendering extension.
- Reorganized into a standard src/sc4mapper/ package layout.
- Added a test suite covering QFS round-trips, city save fixtures, terrain rendering, and DBPF save round-trips.
- Replaced the old installer/batch packaging flow with a PyInstaller build.
