You can modify Output API and test with DirectX 12 if there are problems. 

Make sure you corectly install Video Cards.sgr and Graphics Rules.sgr in the right location (When copying it asks you to overwrite the files and you must do so)

Be sure to put the game's graphics settings to maximum

As an extreme solution you have to use this program allowing you to put your GPU in the Graphics Rules file

Finished attempting all of these, but nothing has helped. But I have a lead! Task Manager reports that the game is still using my iGPU, not my dedicated NVIDIA GPU. I've done everything I can to make it use the correct GPU, though. So looks like the issue is not that DgVoodoo2 is setup incorrectly (I think), it's that the game has been running off my iGPU this entire time, and its struggling to run the game through a much newer API.

Heres another game for comparison. you can see here that it's utilising my NVIDIA GPU as it should.

That's already been done. I've also gone into Win11's own graphic settings and force my NVIDA GPU there to no effect.

Have you updated the Intel GPU drivers?

If yes have you verified that dgvoodoo is using RTX instead of Intel GPU?

Make sure you are accessing the dgvoodoo control panel with administrator permissions.

As mentioned before, I've done all these things, and have checked multiple times that they are still the case.

When you start the game do you get an error message saying that DirectX could not be started?

 

Is there a difference between this vs manually setting up dgvoodoo?

When running SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition on Winlator (Wine/Box64) with an Exynos Xclipse 940 GPU, the game starts but ends with a black screen. DXVK v2.4.1 loads, but the logs show:

 

- D3D11InternalCreateDevice: Using feature level 10.0 (instead of 11.1)  

- DXGI: Failed to parse display metadata  

- Missing Vulkan extension support (VKEXTline_rasterization reports rectangularLines=0, smoothLines=0)  

- Finally: X connection to :0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)

 

It seems DXVK cannot create a stable Direct3D device due to incomplete Vulkan support on Exynos. The result is that SimCity 4 cannot render at all.

 

Any idea how to fix?

You must use DirectX 12 because ARM CPUs and GPUs do not support DirectX 11.

When forcing DirectX 12 with DXVK/vkd3d-proton on Exynos (Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU, Winlator/Wine), SimCity 4 fails to render. Logs show DXVK v2.4.1 and vkd3d-proton 2.14.1 loading, but device creation falls back to feature level 10.0, missing Vulkan extensions (VKEXTline_rasterization, wideLines=0). Finally the X server connection breaks and the game ends with a black screen.

Hi everyone! I'm having trouble playing this game in full-screen mode. I'm configuring all the settings through dgvoodoocpl.exe, but when I start the game, it launches in a small window. I can't figure it out. Am I missing something?

Have you installed SC4 Graphics Options? You need to change the screen resolution there, not in DgVoodoo2.

Oh man. That's all there was to it. My apologies for my inexperience.Thank you so much my friend.

After doing a fresh install of SC4 to clear out a ton of old mods and just get things back to vanilla and then tweaking from there I am no longer able to use DgVoodoo2.  Whenever I install it the game will no longer open.  Not a CTD, it simply does not open.  As soon as I uninstall it the game runs again.  I've installed the latest drivers and I've followed everything I can find and still it will not work unless I uninstall DgVoodoo2.  Any ideas?

Yes that was one of the first things I installed after the reinstall of SC4.  It shows patched when I run the DgVoodoo2 installer.
