Fred Meyer is a chain of hypermarkets that serves the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and Alaska. The chain was founded in 1931 in Portland, OR by Fred G. Meyer. Though still branded under the Fred Meyer name, the company has been owned by Kroger since 1998.

Fred Meyer also sells clothes, shoes, furniture, hardware, and has a pharmacy.  Their slogan used to be "You'll find it at Freddie's.  They were a much better store before Kroger.
