About This File

This is a terrain cutaway mod in HD resolution (1024x1024) and Normal resolution(256x256) textures.
It replaces that default cutaway Maxis textures, They can be used with standard definition terrain mods as well.

INSTALLATION:
Choose one of the DAT file(z_Cutaway Texture Replacement_HD.dat or z_Cutaway Texture Replacement_NM.dat) and simply drop it  into the folder:
C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Plugins (Or you can put it in to any directory in Plugins as well)
The textures in the DAT file will be loaded and will overwrite the defaults (Maxis).

Note:
    1) In order to utilize HD textures you had better rendering in hardware mode, otherwise you may experience a crash to desktop.
    2) If you have already installed a cutaway texture include in your terrain MOD or others, you need to make sure My MOD loaded after them. e.g. Put it into prefix 'z___*' or 'z____*' directory.
3)In order to see the changes from region view, unfortunately, you will need to load each city and save it.

Many thanks to Cori !! @CorinaMarie

Without her careful guidance and kind help I couldn't create it or make it more beautiful.

I'm not a geology expert. It's just depends on my personal preference. So If you have more better idea Please do tell me, I'll try my best to perfect it.

Thank you !

Is that map a downloadable map? I’d love to have it....

Hi Evanjs, It's just a original Maxis map, This city being built with many lots and mods which I tweaked personally(such as cobblestones and side water), Because I couldn't upload them without the author's permission, So it's a pity that you can hardly import the map into your SimCity safely. If you do like some parts of it, You can PM me and I will show you the method I used. Sorry couldn't help you more, Thanks anyway you like it.

Sincerely,

Looks fantastic, although the grass-layer on top is probably a bit too bright. It stands out in particular when the edge of the map is water. Hope it's not too much to ask, but would you consider giving users the option of a texture with this layer removed?

Hi Dead-End, Oh, yeah. Thank you for suggesting it, I also noticed that boring 'bright' under the water and snow. Sorry that I need sometime to fix it due to lack of experience. I will try my best to add more options in the next version.

Sincerely,
