About This File

Here's a map I worked up using USGS Topo data for the Wenatchee, Washington, USA area on the Columbia River. The map is a 12x9 grid of large cities. I make no claim that this map is to scale; I just liked the variation of the terrain. There's a little bit of everything here: mountain ranges with steep cliffs and valleys, rivers deep enough for harbors, marshes, etc. The map looks best when used in conjunction with the Appalachian terrain mod and Olympic Coast tree controller.

EDIT (4/21/14): Here's a new version of the map with better water depth in the southeast corner. The original map had incredibly shallow water (less than 1m for most of it) that turned out to be completely useless for some things (ferries, shipping, etc.). I've tweaked the map to have more realistic flow channels and deepwater areas in that part of the map. Enjoy!

Hi, this map is great but is it created using terraformer or mapper or is it standard. Am following the Omnibus advice for downloading standard maps and am getting a bit confused. Can you help please? Thank you.

In the future, you can use Region Census or the SC4 Start Up Manager (SUM) to take a reasonably sized picture of your entire region. No need for mosaic making (though it does look great at the high zoom). It should make it a lot easier to post pictures of your entire region at once as well.

Very nice map, btw.

Sorry for the stupid question, but how do I install it so that the map comes out like this? I've looked at various instructions on this website and others but I can't seem to get the map like this. I can get the map using SC4Mapper, but it comes out l weird. The image renders when I open the map, but it only renders for that one map region. I have to open all the other map regions for them to render and even then you don't get the trees and mountains looking the way they do. I'd appreciate the help.

Btw, I click download and I'll get is the NewColumbia.SC4M file.

You are doing everything correctly.  By using the mapper you will need to open and save each city tile.  You will also need to place the trees by yourself, using the mayor mode/god mode tree brushes.  The terrain will depend on what terrain mod you have installed.

As the map creator states:

The map looks best when used in conjunction with the Appalachian terrain mod and Olympic Coast tree controller.

BTW, great looking map!

That's actually what I used to make the map, I just didn't scale it down. Sorry for the high-res, this was my first upload here. :(

Incredible map. So burnt out of maps being either: completely flat and boring, waterless, and/or ridiculously mountaneous. You got a perfect blend here. And it doesn't look "fake" with rivers turning for no reason (as in they aren't naturally flowing downhill or turning without higher land pushing them.

Well done, 5/5 and I hope to see many more from you!
